[LOCKED]Hot Date/Event Display

Looks like we need to be one step ahead of the stupid development changes. Change your age in the age block and put your real age in the comments section.

There is evidently an issue with the feature that filters out folks from viewing you Hot Date based on your preferences. As a single female I should be seeing all of the Hot Dates posted by single males; I am not seeing any at all.

I won't rehash but I also agree with all of the other complaints about this new change. I want to be able to look at the entire month's calendar to plan my weekends. Right now I'm trying to make plans for the weekend before Halloween, when everyone will have the parties, but I can't view that in the calendar. To find Halloween parties I've got to search on every tab and it returns parties all across the country. If I set filters for the search it only returns results for a week out, even when I specifically put in a date of 10-26-2019. This new change has definitely put a crimp in my fun. If I can't find the parties, no on else can either. Then the attendance at the parties will be affected as well.

We joined in 2013 and this is my first post in the forum. I hate the new updates. This site offers some great features but this new update is horrible. Being able to easily find a party and see who RSVPed was one of the most useful features. Really hope there is a roll back or at least a better fix. As it is now we don't like it either.

there is n abundance of displeasure with the improvements, this was our favorite site because it was simple...... now it has become complicated and limits your ability to look around and see everyone. I would have to see SLS to improve the site out of existence trying to give people what they never wanted.

Well, KIK is going away, so we will have to get a new app.

SLS fucks up a work system, AGAIN, who liked the old mail system that they deleted. Time to look for another site. I does suck being a Life time member. But they already got our $$$, so why do they care?

Wayne, since you are reading this thread can you ask the developers to allow a person to modify a hot date after it is posted? The new system which most everyone dislikes only allows deletion of an existing hot date. As a persons situation changes modifications are sometimes necessary. The previous format allowed for modification of hot dates. I know, we have done it on almost every posted hot date we have ever generated.

Obviously there is pushback about blocking hot dates that may not match your age criteria, their age criteria, or stuff like that. So if that is going to stay as is we recommend everyone change their preferences to include all couples, singles, and all ages, since that is what the new format forces us to do to see potential hot dates in our area.

That's the only solution we can see... unless you have a better option Wayne? What are we to do?

We've gone to the extreme of age preferences as being an absolute now? I've rarely come across anyone that had an age range say.... Sorry.... You're one year over.... No thanks.

The staff making these changes.... Are you in the lifestyle? Do you even understand how silly that is?

Omg this is getting ridiculous.

Lots of 'splaining' but I still see no answers to the question of, How did this feature change requirement originate? I really doubt it was user based but was internal based.

In years I've not seen one feature change proposed to the members and development based on user needs. There have been cries in the forum for many other features such as:

 1. The ability to block those that block you. Not implemented.
 2. The ability to see a message history (if there is one) on the profile page of the member you're viewing. Not implemented.

Just a couple of very commonly requested functional feature changes that were ignored for years.

So the one you chose to implement changed a working feature COMPLETELY and is one I haven't seen a single user request.

That's your development requirements management? Implement first, user feedback second?

Cut Wayne and the developers a break, Their restrictive changes are only to protect us from the sex crazed perverts on this site. <<rolleye>>

Thank you sonhcpl well put. This is exactly the position myself and other Males are experiencing. I guess Wayne rather impose censorship over supporting our community.

You do know that you’re trying to streamline the nuances of the lifestyle, Wayne, and not in a good way.
A wife that plays separately, is considered a SF when she plays alone. The couple she plays with, views her as that.

They aren’t interested in her husband, they only want her. So why must they put in a search for a couple if they only want the female?

And why can’t a wife play as a single female even though her profile says couple?

The same goes for husbands that play separately.

The point of the HotDate was not to mirror the preferences of the poster’s profile. It was meant to create an experience for the moment. If a couple, who wasn’t looking for men, decided they wanted an MFM experience, they could do that on the HotDate.

If a couple was open to a female for the weekend, they could use the HotDate to pique interest.

What you’re doing is taking the flexibility out of this. Peoples’ interests change. Give us that right back.

Your basically taking away users ability to decide for themselves what they are looking for at any given time. Please give us back control of our own choices.

So a couple that mostly wants somebody in the 30 - 40 age group is going to miss out out on a chance to have a 50 year old hot couple reply to their posted hot date. Age brackets are not black and white - most people list what they primarily want as a match, but are also open to others that share same interests/desires/etc that are outside that range - relationships are fluid, not written in stone.

Yes, if they have couple profiles excluded they will not see couples because that is what they are telling us that they want. If they want to see couples also playing as singles they will need to indicate that they are interested in couples.

Wayne - "The system is now more accurately matching people based on their choices."

No, it doesn't. If a couple is looking for a SF, couples that play separately, are excluded. I have helped several couples play out their FFM fantasies because Scamp and I encourage and enjoy each other to have fun. Now, I can't even see who posted a hot date to send them a message that I would like to be their SF for the evening.

You are forcing members to accept less opportunity on a site that is becoming more and more user-unfriendly.

Wayne, I appreciate you trying to explain how to use the new Hot Date section but the bottom line is that there was no need to change the old system. What you have replaced it with is totally unworkable and an insult to all of the users>. Thee are plenty of other places on this website where changes are necessary such as the antiquated Email system or adding room such as SLS travel to the chat section. By making arbitrary changes without any preview or trial period on a web site that people pay for, you are forcing users to find another site. I personally will be looking at others out there who ae more user friendly and care about their paid subscribers !

So someone that posts a hotdate with age parameters that we don’t meet, means we can’t see them.
HOWEVER, block someone and they can still see if you are signed up for a party, event and various other places on SLS.

WOW...glad you place more importance on someone’s age than you do on blocking someone.

Wayne, thank you for posting and sharing insight on what is going on. Personally not happy with the changes but very happy that you are sharing your side of what is happening. Let’s not beat Wayne up but encourage more dialogue. Thank you!

If SLS is trying to be accurate, is it also going to prohibit profiles from seeing the profiles they’ve blocked?
Wouldn’t that be accurate as well? If you block singles or couples from seeing your profile, you shouldn’t be able to see theirs.

Most apps are email and phone linked, that way any message from the app can either be sent as a message to the phone or the email.

Will the “app” have that capability?

Why weren’t these changes addressed to the population without forewarning?

"Click the 'Heart' icon on the hot date page and..."

I was clicking on the wrong "heart". There is a heart on the calendar where your Hot Date appears. Click on this shows you a list of hot dates for that day. There is a bigger heart in the upper right-hand corner of the browser next to the + sign. I can now see how to delete my hot date/s.

I'm assuming to change/edit one I'd have to now delete and re-add it?

I'm guessing that it's because of the filtering that the calendar now looks a lot more sparsely populated? Does that mean there are no hot dates where I fall into their age range?

Also, what determines the age range for couples? In other words, if a couple has a 51 year old man and 35 year old woman, would a Hot Date with an upper age range of 50 filter out this couple?

Saginaw, MI, Us

Why can I not find events that I could previously see? Not just the hot dates. Hotel parties and club events?

I will say that a large amount of investment and time is being placed on the app and that the website features are being updated to be efficient and seemless between the main site and the app. Over the years we have had a large number of our customers request an app. Many of our customers only have mobile devices now.
