[LOCKED]Hot Date/Event Display

Part of me want to block 888, but another part loves antagonizing his uneducated ass. He is the perfect example that some of us exist only to serve as a warning to others.

Has anyone found an option to disable seeing single guy hot date postings?

Isn't there already enough negativity in these forums without you people having a verbal go at each other?

Confirming, Events are back!!! We're headed in the right direction, thank you SLS

Allen is a garden-variety troll that SLS unfortunately allows to roam freely, perhaps because he's an asshole but not a racist asshole like NutCal. Some have him blocked, but clearly not enough because we can still see the shit he stirs up when he's on a rampage. It took months of effort to get the last free-range troll banned, so if he's annoying you please let your feelings be known.

Yayyy!!! Events are back on the Hot Date calendar!!! It's necessary to scroll quite a bit but that makes everything accessible from the mobile browser now. Thank you Wayne!!!

Back to topic. I still see tons of single men hot date postings which were not there before. Any idea how to get rid of them?

Personally, we would like to request that you don’t continue significantly investing in the SLS Mobile App. Focus on the web

We very rarely go to SLS via our phone. When we do it is via Firefox browser, not SLS app

Hi Steve, To answer you directly, no, I do not represent SLS, but I do represent part of your community. When people don’t like what I have to say when offering help to others, cannot accept my knowledge or even my opinion by making snive, crude or rude remarks, shun and even make false accusations by individuals, I gladly return the favor. Maybe my now filter is worn from the apparent flocking, but at least I won’t lie to you.

Just so you also know, I also don’t really care for being judged by others, especially when they step in without reading back enough to know the history of why I’m saying something or even the history with the individual.

Wayne's response that the new Hot Date restrictions more closely reflect a user's wishes are.... Plainly absurd. One, they never surveyed the user base for this change and two, it could easily have been satisfied with and easier change by a date range PREFERENCE and a check box the user can select to restrict date visibility to ONLY the preferences.

The other changes to the calendar format are obviously unwanted based on the feedback here and clearly one of those requirements generated in a vacuum.

I used to always recommend SLS to people in the LS. No longer.

For what it’s worth !! It’s obvious there is a dislike for all the changes made however attacking Wayne and the IT Dept only fosters a position of “us vs them” To use an old adage “can we all get along” !! The attacks leveled by some wil never foster a working relationship whereby they take your input. From a personal standpoint, I have written to Wayne and IT on several issues and they have responded accordingly. Never once were they attacked for their position or they attacked me for mine. Furthermore, those who may think I am “brown nosing” SLS management, note I have no affiliations or ties to them. I am just a user. Will that said, do I like the changes? Absolutely not !! As someone suggested I think it should have been beta tested. I also know this, for lack of a better analogy, it’s their bat and ball so I have to play by their rules. It’s not a democracy here because we all know that 50 people would have 50 different ways to fix it but the democratic thing is if you don’t like it, you can start your own. Let’s see how many will do that !! Tempted yes, actually, doubt it !!

Is this just a pet project, do these people have any experience with UI/UX outside this environment? There are tons of changes that would make this site better, but honestly I do not believe this crew is capable of understanding what and how those changes should be implemented. Every time there is a change it seems random and not necessarily positive. Take the way they changed email into some chat program, that was a pretty big step backwards. Heck even this forum, double, triple posts, even their customer's criticisms demonstrate flaws that have existed for months or years without being addressed.

I could say I own a software company, that we do work for big clients in travel and hospitality, that we are faced with UI/UX challenges that far exceed what this website has to deal with. This would all be true of course, but I am not sure anyone at SLS would care to include people like me in discussions or focus groups, people who could drive this website forward.

And yeah, just another undocumented feature they've introduced. I think it's to improve the mental state of forum users by giving them a moment to meditate....yeah. That's the ticket! Meditate, not bug!

why why why why?? my god almost everything implemented in the past 6 months has made this site MORE difficult to use... most of what has been changed wasn't broken or needed change..... the hot date event display now is a total disaster, no calander view for events.... cant even imagine what the next screw up will be... its a downward spiral on this site........ how about a beta test on these changes to get some imput..... whomever is the web designer implementing these changes is clueless......

What in the heck have you done to the hot date calendar? It was a useful tool to find parties and events going on in our area. Now you have to search through several pages, events, groups, clubs, etc to see what is going on. Losing email was bad enough but this just really tops all of the other bad decisions lately on this site. The site becomes more user unfriendly with each change. Maybe it is to promote the app but it will not work for many, there is no way we will put an app on our phone for someone to see accidently.

What were they thinking here? This isn't a matter of just getting used to it. Searching for events , hot dates, parties etc. is not nearly as easy as it used to be. Way more complicated and time consuming
