Last Christmas our son and his fiancee were helping decorate our tree. The fiancee grabbed an ornament which happened to be an upside down pineapple. She said "do you know what this means?" We played innocent. The fiancee said "it's a swinger symbol". The wife said well, we got it from some friends who happen to be swingers and left it at that. Fortunately they didn't ask any other questions.

We regularly tool around a grocery store located between us with an upside down pineapple in our cart. We don't always buy the pineapple, but we get it in the cart fairly early in our visit as the produce section is at the front door.
No one has said anything, but we have gotten some odd looks. Those looks are more like "Why do these weird people have an upside down pineapple in their cart", than it is "Ooh....an upside down pineapple........I wonder of they are swingers?"
I have heard more about upside down pineapples as a swinger symbol in the vanilla world which is somewhat good news. Good in the sense that it is being more widely recognized as an invitation to flirt/talk but bad that the general population knows about it which sort of defeats its use as a subtle identifier.

We carved pineapples like jack-o-lanterns for a halloween hotel party a couple years ago. They are pretty easy to carve, but they stay pretty wet inside.
Just for fun, I put one pineapple in the shopping cart, upside down, with two banana on each side. No comments, but a lot of giggles. Made shopping a lot more fun! Try it.

Update: We have new neighbors and the wife came over and was very friendly with us and told us she likes our pinapple light and said they liked to have parties a couple of times a year. Very interested when we said we had a enclosed private pool. The girls traded numbers and wantto get togetherwith us. Amazing what a pinapple did
Challenge: come up with a way to display a pineapple and a bunch of bananas seductive manner in your grocery cart. I'm still trying to work that out without them falling over.
Bought a few pineapple themed accessories lately: tie, bow tie, Hawaiian shirt, polo shirt and a beach towel. Bought the wife a few items too, hair scrunchie, flip flops beach robe, We am going to start wearing them when we go out to see if we get any reactions. (Not all of them at once obviously, we'd be taken as nuts rather than swingers lol) I'll keep you posted

I have several pineapples growing in my front yard. Doesn't seem to attract horny neighbors.
Was in the dollar store a couple of days ago and they had pinapple walkway lights. I couldn't resist and brought a couple home and put them out . One by the mailbox and one by the garage. Hubby came home a laughed is ass off loving it. Interesting to see if we have any intersting converstaions with our neighbors. LOL
I stick an upside down pineapple in our cart now and then just to make the Mrs. laugh. We don't expect anyone will ever notice, nor care.

I never knew about the pineapple in the cart. I'll have to try it at Pricechopper and see if it gathers any reaction. I'm relatively sure it won't, but I'll have a nice pineapple to eat at home. LOL

I'm on a diet now with the wife that includes lots of fresh fruit. After reading those last two posts, we may have to add fresh pineapple in the rotation!
I was in my local supermarket last month and the first thing I grabbed was a Pineapple and put it upside down in my cart at the top section. A few times i had past a very sexy woman in the isles and we just smiled at eachother. Finally I was going down my last isle when she asked if I could get something on the top shelf for her, which I did. She then asked me why i had the pineapple upside down and I told her "its to get the juices flowing" She said okay and went on her way. I checked out and was on my way to the car when she approached me and said "I know what that means and I want to get your juices flowing" We abruptly exchanged phone numbers and the next day we got eachothers juices flowing. True Story !!

I stopped at a restaurant on a recent road trip. I had finished my meal and was waiting to check out. A waitress walked over, looked around and then said "love your shirt" and winked!

Found pineapple pillows at Walmart for his birthday, he is looking forward to the next car show, pillow in evidence, should be fun to see what happen.
