I think Tech doesn’t pay anymore attention to what we say than all the people who keep IM’ing us. Top of our profile it clearly says we don’t use IM.......what do they do? IM us.

True. And not only that, because no Message window automatically opens when you get a message, if you're not at the very top of the SLS page, you don't know there's a message.

People could send me IMs, but since I never turned it on or looked, that process was invisible. Now I have a flashing red number that demands my attention, so it's no longer out of view. Since the communication via IM is of even lower quality than the majority of what comes through my email, the ratio of usefulness to irritation is not at all favorable.

Hasn't it always been possible for people to send you IM messages, whether or not you are online? Even when you had your IM turned off?
If you don't open your IM tab, how would it be bothersome?

With the inability to turn the IM off we had to add a new first line to our profile to keep people from IMing us...
“PLEASE DO NOT I.M. US! The new "improved" IM system SUCKS and can no longer be turned off. If you IM us we will find you and cut holes in the toes of all your socks “
... but, of course, that only works if they bother to READ our profile. The guys that think this is a hook-up site don’t bother getting past pics so message anyway. Fucking annoying!

If we get PO'd decide to leave we MIGHT, If we are stupid, drop our profile. If that is done it would likely require anteing up again if we got desperate enough.
Personally I would just make us as invisible as possible so as not to alienate anyone trying to make contact and then just stop logging in. There are no burnt bridges that way,

Why would anyone quit their Lifetime membership to come back and pay again monthly?
Maybe that's their thinking, but the one true threat to them would be a competitive web site that is more attractive to us members. It's like trying to get a beer at a sports arena. It's easy to charge $12 for a beer when that's the only place you can get a beer.

Sadly no update the IM feature here after all the complaints from paid customers? The chat window is too small, the text box cannot be expanded to see all your characters, no audible alerts anymore, the history scrolling turns up jumbled, etc. Come on people! Demand more! Demand better functionality of this website!

That is one of the few things we haven't done. It would seem too easy for people to capture and resend your camming sessions as videos and you'd likely be none the wiser. Plus, if you have a lot of opportunity to play in person (as we do), why bother camming? Yes, I get the whole "safe sex" thing, but for us at least it doesn't seem like it would be much better than having porn on in the background.
About the only thing I'd like to see them fix with IM (if they could) is the doorbell sound it used to make when someone was trying to contact you, As it is now, you'd have to be logged in and actively looking at the SLS page to know someone was trying to reach you.

Seems to work fine on my laptop and can see and send IMs on my android phone. It both cases I'm using Chrome for a browser, if that helps.

I have two profiles. A couples and a single, and I can’t get IM to work on either of them? I can’t view anything that anyone sends me? When will this be fixed? A few weeks ago it was fine?
The new IM just makes it easier for us to decide who to block.
