IM Messages

Just had a new message added to my archive messages folder...meanwhile, the wheel is still spinning

The IM is giving me this weird issue that after we compose a "well thought out and crafted one liner message" and hit send, the message disappears but nothing scrolls up to show what we just sent. Only after refreshing the page and going back do we see the message sent (or messages sent if we tried typing and sending it more than once). This is on a PC running WIN-7 with Chrome browser. Anyone else having this problem?

Just a spinning wheel here too, they do not care. They got their money.

I'm just going to use the IM to give people our email address and burner number. SLS will just be our first point of contact.

Just sent and received a message, so it's working for us. It's also performing exactly as we expected, which is exactly what we don't want.

Why? Why would they mess with the mail system? So now you can't see if someone has read your msg? And when you send a msg the window where you type is is like two lines long...kinda like an old early 90's word processor???

In the same place as most people here. We can not send messages and when we try to open the new "Messages" area, we get the spinning dots icon with the word "Loading" at the bottom. Seriously, how do you have an update like this that you do not test at least with a selection of users before you roll it out for the membership to use. It does NOT work. Great job. I would send a message to the admins about it but oh yeah, we can't!

I got an email today from someone in my archived list. As mentioned, anyone that you have emailed with you can still use email to communicate, at least for now. Any new communication will be the new Message system. I tried Messaging this morning and got the spinning wheel like everyone else so must be broke at the moment.

I do tend to find communication issues with SLS lately at or around the weekend when I most need it. At least for almost all of my friends I have their cell # and/or outside email address. I would suggest others try to do the same.

We are traveling this week and hitting playalinda and all we get is the spinning wheel. We cannot contact or communicate with anyone. How frustrating. It worked for a moment and then something changed.

There are complaints about every change on this site, and there were many complaints about the old mail system, Who viewed me and how bad it will be for the community, free members and no ability to contact them etc and bla bla bla. If sls changes back i will be surprised. I will also be surprised if Lifetime members dump the site over the new email system and My guess is monthly/quarterly members will be back after they realize most other sites have small memberships.

Spinning wheel here as well. So they changed from something that worked and people liked to something no one likes and now doesn’t even work? Hmmmm

Seems like I can't contact anybody. The IM isn't working. Just keep loading with the spinning wheel.

We should all have the ability to opt out of the IM and Videochat.

I asked a friend:

"My browser doesn't support it"
This was composed off line with one sentence per line

There was so much wrong with this site already. Whst gave somebody any notion that it needed to be fucked up even more?

There is no email and there is no IM; is that the case for everyone?

Luvhavinfun and Scamp, perhaps you are right. It would explain the ridiculous decisions made here....... which would force us to a site where we need to continually pay a monthly fee......all about the almighty buck.

We can never get the IM to load on 4g, only if we are connected to wifi. I guess the tiny fraction of time I get in the morning at home will be the only time I can consistently check for messages (which btw we wouldn't have to do if the external mail hadn't been disabled). Oh well, at least we won't even know about the people we are ignoring now....... thanks sls....

All this for the app. Why do we need the app? We already have text on our phones and KIK, we just need a working SLS site again.

WOW. You guys broke SLS. Nobody wants to use IM to talk to people. This is terrible. Terrible. I'm so unhappy about this.

You may be on to something there. It is truly the first logical explanation I've read.
