[LOCKED]Bring back the mail

In my opinion, it wasn't a wise move. I'm a software engineer, they could have easily had both systems in play. Actually they still have that option and they know it. Just a matter of a couple of commands.

This is a false dichotomy. You can in fact upgrade the existing instant message system to include video chat, and leave in place, the existing email service. Actually, several of SLS's competitors already do.

well..... I thought the complaining was a bit much, that maybe its just a bunch of people stuck in their ways and not accepting change or new technology...

then I tried to use it....

my gawd do the people that run this site actually test the things they implement before making the change???? its almost un-useable... its horrible... makes me not even want to bother sending out a "message"....

Well, except SLS marketing emails. SLS can email anyone they want to with no limits on length, formatting, etc. In other words they won't use their own shit.

I TOTALLY AGREE!!!!! It is really stupid. I get almost NO responses from IM and now can not leave a mail message???????!!!!!!!

We are not here for IM video sex, and on going conversations that go no where. We are here to meet people in the real world, and have real sex. So IM has video functions, well if we wanted to watch sex videos we can just watch porn.

It is shocking that the SLS powers have not even made a statement regarding the changes. You would think they would want to address this if even just for damage control, let alone to say why they decided to screw this (and us) up!

To get a quick OK from the hubby to have fun meeting the wife and never him. I like these features, but agree not having email is somewhat annoying, especially since there are so many quirks in the IM system. I have a feeling these upgrades will target app users and create revitalization of the younger crowd joining and that's best for all.

I believe you can unsubscribe to any SLS email you get.

That is just what happens to us as well. It's new and improved.
Can you imagine how complicated things would be if we had words are pictures flying through the internet atmosphere ?

Has anyone else had this problem. If we attach a picture with the text message and hit send only the pictures goes through. Where did the text go? This IM system sucks.

We just had to send 3 messages (and it broke one mid last word so actually it was 4) to someone a little earlier. Basically we were saying hi and we would like to get together and talk at the next club party. Of course we wanted to be a little more expansive and mention something from their profile that caught our interest but then we don't have to outline the whole thing because you all get the drift. Honestly we would like the old email system back or a hybrid between the message and email allowing for more than a couple lines of text but we know what we have is what we get. We would however make one suggestion for the message system as it currently sits. How about a characters left counter so we know when we are close and can break the message for clarity? We can work with the 3 (actually more like 2 1/3 for us) lines if we knew when to break and send another message. Anyone else think that would help at least a little?

Instead of sending a Message that says "Hi, let's fuck", we will be attempting to class it up and will try a "Hello, would you like to meet with the intention of perhaps engaging in a consensual sexual encounter?"

Another vote for email! We prefer longer emails to get to know people - not chatting.

There are definitely weird issues with different browsers. In Forums I have to enter 4 empty lines between the first and second paragraph in order to get a single blank line. Wayne wrote to me and said you shouldn't have to do that, so I mentioned I saw others that had said they also have to do this so I wasn't alone. Apparently he doesn't have this issue and the support folks were unaware of it.
