Yes one of the many things that this site is behind the times one. My wife uses the app and she can't see most of the stuff on the site. She always has to get off the app and go to the web site.

The app is truly awful. I just use the main website on mobile.

Android user here and it's March 2024. The problem has to do with the SLS app, which is just awful. If I go into my profile to upload photos, it freezes and never loads the photo upload screen. I literally had to use the website here to upload and edit photos. Also, the app doesn't show all of the people who viewed my profile (amazingly it ONLY shows the single males, which is the one group my wife and I are NOT looking for right now). The website shows over 50 views but the app shows about 10.

Messages get cut in pieces due to the character limits. Viewing people in your area by the map function doesn't work. When I DID upload my pics, I had to turn them sideways so they'd show up with the right orientation. So, the problems are the app, not the person.

I think it is easier to lock your phone's rotating screen and turn your phone sideways rather than trying to teach people the right way to upload. Or fix a website issue.

Dipping toes ... It's not really the member's fault. they upload a picture and it comes out sideways because of some stupid incompatibility with iphones or something like that. but nobody would know that unless they have read forum posts in detail which is only a small percentage of the site's members.

Supposedly it's fixed now but for a while SLS couldn't properly deal with photos uploaded directly from an iPhone. Unless the member placed a support ticket (or sent the photo to Wayne) and requested that SLS upload the photo in the correct orientation then the photo will forever stay sideways.

I don't really understand how anyone can either take or upload bad photos these days. My phone will only take a bad photo if I really work at it. Sometimes it works better than my Nikon D750.

And every phone has the software to crop, rotate, and color correct photographs. Twenty years ago you would have had to have used a PC running Photoshop to get all of this. Now it's all in my pocket.

We have selfie sticks, Bluetooth remotes, etc. There's never been a better time for taking pictures—naughty or nice—of ourselves.

Can someone explain why members insist on uploading pictures in the incorrect format or even not facing the right way. Some profiles one has to constantly keep turning the phone to see the pictures correctly.
The site should have some type of explanation on how to upload the content in the correct format.

We don't open them the world, many people don't, because we're selectively slutty. It's also why we like hotel and club parties best. What you see is what you get.

We actually have it in our profile that "if your main profile pic is your dick, we are probably not a good match" and dozens of guys with a dick as their main profile pic have contacted us, apparently without even reading the profile. Usually with a gem of prose such as "HYD", or "Watsup".

I just assume he doesn't know anything about women. Which, spoiler, is not an advantage here.

If all I see is a dick pic, I assume the guy is a dick.

The men who post 12 dick photos and nothing else make me laugh. I laugh even harder if it's small.

The toilet dick pics are the worst. Especially out of focus. Learn to use the timer. Get a selfie stick. They’re cheap, and most of them come with a Bluetooth shutter release button. Mine even acts as a tripod.

Sorillo, I’m with you on the bad photos. My cell phone almost can’t take a bad picture. It’s ridiculous. And the people who obviously have scanned in old Polaroids. Seriously, these have to be from the 80s, at the latest. And the dick pics. The endless parade of dick pics. People, sharing dick pics is for later in the process. I want to see what you look like, full body (face is optional, but preferred) in clothes. I want to see if you can put yourself together well enough that I’m not ashamed to be seen in public with you.

Just went back to that photo from the last post a few minutes ago. Wanted to make sure that my memory was correct and I wasn't slagging someone unfairly.

It's worse.

The photo is a phone screenshot of a phone screenshot (you see both borders of the phone screens) of what appears to be a chemical/paper photo (black and white, blurry and dark, although that could be because of the multiple digital conversions) that's old enough to vote. It could be a human female... or a screenshot from a bad "found-footage" horror film about Cthulhu. Flip a coin.

No public face photos, no problem. That doesn't bother me at all, I'm totally understanding on that privacy issue. I have a real problem with the folks who contact you expecting to agree to a meet without having the slightest idea of what they look like. I mean, I have clear face photos, so you can tell if I'm someone you know from vanilla life that you should avoid contacting, so that excuse doesn't fly.

Or like a couple who reached out to me last night (at 2am). About 3 short sentences in their profile, 200 miles away, and the only photo looks like they took a phone photo of a blurry chemical/paper photo from about 20 years ago of her, and it's a 2nd generation screenshot of their phone. It's so blurry and washed out that I can barely tell that it's a woman in the photo, mostly because of the underwear. And of course, the message is just "Hi, we're John and Jane." (not the real names, of course). Geez, put some fucking effort into it. Take 20 minutes out of your day to take a couple of phone photos in the backyard. And don't bullshit me about not having a good camera. Every welfare recipient out there has a smartphone that can take photos that hold their own with a professional SLR camera from 20 years ago.

Yeah, I'm a bit annoyed.

This post is over a year old, but this response is still relevant. My wife is semi-retired and doesn't want to risk being discovered by one of her clients. (She found one of her clients already) so our face pictures are private. We gladly open our pictures to those who reach out to us or who respond to our messages quickly.
One reason we don't reach out is the desired age range doesn't fit us. We are 10 years apart 66/76(almost). A desired age range of 55-70 doesn't include both of us, so we respect the range.

@ hot wife there's more to this lifestyle then sex- I have no problem hanging out with people my own age in fact it's a preference. I am a web mistress on Facebook of a group for newbies from age 18 through 55 with over a thousand members singles and couples. When this subject comes up they think this lifestyle is a big orgy there is no swinger etiquette no more whatsoever.. There is no excuse not keep up with your photos at the age of 61 have learned how to use my phone and how to use my photo app on my phone. Back in the day we used to use digital cameras and would stamp are pictures with the time and date so you would know that these pictures are updated. This lifestyle is very visual and if you do not keep up with your photos or with your profile. You will slowly lose who's looking at you and not to mention word gets around because I hear people talking about profiles in house partys.

I just finished talking to a single male and he has the same picture up for more than 10 years. I had to tell him come on come!! Has your cell phone stopped working? Do you need help taking a new picture?? I have talked to him in the past. There's no need for single males to be rude unfortunately the couple that made this post has single females blocked cuz I would have messaged them privately. I feel their pain!

I think that many people who are not being contacted regularly are perhaps outside of most member's search parameters. When I was about 15-20 years younger, and had a profile with my hot ex-wife, we had no issues being swamped with interested contacts and we had a lot of fun. We were invited to parties all over the southeast. As I have aged, lost my younger body and in general became less attractive/sexy to many in the swinger community simply by my aging, I recognize that the pool of interested parties is getting smaller each year. If my sexy wife and I are still in the lifestyle in another 10 years, there will be much less contact than we receive now. As we age, there are also fewer people in these age groups who are still in the lifestyle. I think that people need to understand that this is all about SEX and fantasy and that requires being sexy and someone's fantasy. The sexier you are, the more contact you will have. Simple as that. We try and stay slim and trim and healthy and that helps, but it does not change the obvious. We are going to have as much fun as we can and enjoy the ride while it lasts.
