Just continuing to read replies to this post something struck me: How many businesses succeed when they silently proceed to make huge changes to how their customers receive service, alienate them by not discussing it, and then pretend that the customers are wrong for having any problems with what was done?—————I can’t think of any————-SLS is going to be one of the many failed businesses who screw customers and then expect to be congratulated by them for doing it. Doing something dumb is one thing - continuing to act like nothing is wrong after they do it is treating the people they impact like suckers.

I have heard people say that if they can't view it on their phone they won't bother with it. That's what the app does ;-) Not saying I support it or would use it, but that's a reason for the app.

The app has considerably less! Silly us, we thought they really screwed up with the elimination of the bird......the app is a real albatross

So far I would tell you it’s not worth downloading the app but there are some things that do function better there. The viewer for pics is better and you can sort who viewed me, New matches and who’s on with more filters.

Again, why would I download the app when I’ve dropped an SLS icon onto my phone and the desktop site formats just fine? What does the app do that’s different?

I downloaded the SLS app on my iPhone. Type in SLS in your search (not swing lifestyle), it was the 4th or 5th option and it’s called “SLS Official, swing lifestyle couples dating”.

First up was a direct knock off including multi colored gumbies called Swinder

Be prepared to be underwhelmed.

I believe that the threshold for Apple is somewhat higher. I know that the Fet app is also only on Android.

nnva, I'm on an Android phone so I downloaded it from the Google Play store. First entry when I searched SLS. I don't know if it's up on the Apple Store yet.

bicple16667 - As far as I understand it you cannot mention an outside form of communication in your profile text or tag line. I don't think they put your profile off-line for exchanging email addresses once you've actually made contact with someone (IM for new contact or email if you'd contacted them prior to the improvements).

One thing not available is a demographic showing % of swingers by age groups. It's pretty obvious why it doesn't exist. If other people are mostly like us, the LS is something you mature into. Phone apps are definitely targeting a younger demographic, but I'm not sure that going after that demographic at the cost of alienating an older crowd isn't a case of throwing the baby out with the bath water, so to speak.

This isn't to say that there aren't millennials that are swingers. I just suspect that it is a smaller % of swingers overall. Regardless, SLS is following the trend of having an app for everything. Having had an app on my phone that I had to track down and remove because it sucked the life out of my battery, I'm reluctant to install any app that I don't feel I absolutely need, but I'm likely a minority there.

Yup, that's us. Seems like jus yesterday that we upgraded to that. We have cell phones, old flip phones, voice & text, but no internet. I don't want internet on my phone. Internet consumes enough of me jus from my desktop PC, and I don't wanna be a "Glued To My Phone" kinda guy.

It's not that I "fear" or "don't like" change. I'm old, & not extremely wealthy, and I really don't wanna be pouring precious time & money into maintaining my life in a constant state of technological upgrade/update. I'd rather live & play in the real world.
That said, I revisited the IM system, and despite all the short comings, I am able to open it & exchange text, eventually. I miss the one click view profile button. It's a PITA to have to open a new tab, type in the senders screen name, (copy does not work in messenger on my system), and search, jus to view the senders profile, but it does work, eventually.
I too will be searching for other options, but with the mention of other sites being taboo here, it's difficult to get input to other options. Location also matters. Many large sites have little to no membership in this neck of the woods, others like alpha double foxtrot are merely fronts for porn scams & viruses. And litteraly, there's thousands to sort through.
Also, our primary interest is other paragraph people. We've found we don't have much in common with techno junkies living in a cyber world. Albeit some Betazoid & Trill are extremely hot, the Borg are not.
Perhaps I'll create an email account to use solely with this SLS account, & put the addy on our profile, mebby that'll work.

I use SLS on my iPhone. Have done for years. I use the desktop site. It formats to my phone, and works exactly the same as it does on my laptop. Same good features. Same unwanted/unrequested features. I can send and receive e-mail. I can receive and send Messages. I can read and post in the forum.

Nope, doesn't seem to work. Can't see you anymore. Another update went into effect since I downloaded, so maybe they fixed it.

On the other hand, I can now see people on my blocked list. Weird.

I downloaded the app yesterday and played around with it a bit, at the instigation of one of you loveable fora degenerates (if my phone explodes, you know who I'm gonna blame). A few observations:

It seems like it actually WORKS.... sort of. Certainly better than the full site has ever worked.

Just like the previous app, if you couples want to block SMs from seeing you, it won't work. I can see a BUNCH of couples with no interest in SMs. I wouldn't be surprised to find that it allows SMs to spam you with IMs even if you have them blocked, but I'm not willing to be disrespectful and try messaging someone just to test it.

And in the list of coming changes in version 4.0.0 "Changed old friends to 'Favorites' to make way for new friend system." Oh goody, something to look forward to. Something ELSE is going to be chupacabra thunderfucked before too long. sigh

Go check it out on Google Play. It's got most of the features I predicted it to have. Think of a combination of Tinder/Match/KiK/Facebook.

I have no other way to contact SLS this site does not allow me to choose a topic when I try to submit a problem to SLS. It does NOT even allow me to scroll down to hit send button to submit the issue to SLS. I DO NOT WANT INSTANT MESSAGEING NOR VIDEO CHAT!!!!!!!!!!
