MoT - Just a thought, but you could likely benefit from the Better Profile thread. Nearly 2/3rds of the sentences in your profile start with "I", and as you mentioned, you only have one picture, and it's of your bicep/shoulder. If you do get someone's attention it is likely they'll check out your profile, and it could be a bit better.
MoT - Sounds like an OK message but I have questions about your target criteria and a suggestion.
How are you determining that they are looking for SMs? Specifically, are you just looking at toggles or are you actually looking at profiles to see if, and under what circumstances, someone may be looking for a SM?
Also, do your messages include any specifics from a profile? It doesn't have to be a lot, but for example, if someone likes live music, you may want to ask where they go locally for that. If you do in fact like live music, worst case is that you wind up at a bar that has a band that you may enjoy.
The suggestion is that you may want to create Hot Dates for a particular area you plan to be in. Always a better chance of success if you're responding to someone interested in you versus asking someone if there is interest.

DTH I respectfully disagree. In fact, I’d say the total opposite. Idiots who send illiterate messages only make the more intelligent, erudite responses really stand out more. As a SF, it’s much easier for me to differentiate. So, keep doing what you’re doing. And let them keep striking out. Better odds for those of higher quality.

4_real_couple - our friend from Charlotte has availed himself of the advice in Better Profiles ... several times with several different profiles.
He keeps hoping for a magic formula and profile & message templates that will get him immediate results.
The wife and I actually read your profile. It needs help big time. There is a forum for better profiles, check it out. Be warned, they are very direct. But you will get some very good advice. How you use it is up to you.

Re Ball, our post wasn't about you.
After we posted it, we looked further down the thread and saw that you did what a lot of other guys do. With no "real" pics in a profile, how good is the profile? Don't know. If the pics suck, the profile is probably just as bad. If we don't see something that intrigues us, why go any further?
What a lot of people fail to realize is you are selling a product. YOU!!!! If you don't stand out in the online crowd, you probably won't even get considered. Parties are still the best place to meet people. A pic doesn't show the personality. Although we get messages all of the time. "You guys look like a lot of fun" It's all in the presentation.
