LS Lessons I've Learned

Richardson, TX, Us

Allow me to rephrase that in a way that might be easier to comprehend. The opposite of disappointment is satisfaction, fulfillment or bliss. Everything you know and feel comes from contrast, so without experiencing disappointment, you cannot expect any satisfaction, fulfillment or bliss. In that case, why do anything if you aren't prepared to be disappointed? If you have no expectations, then you have no expectations that can be exceeded, either. Saying you can't be disappointed if you have no expectations is really saying you are expecting to waste your time, because you already expect nothing will come of your effort. If you have no expectations, why are you here? If you won't be disappointed if nothing ever comes of it, why are you here? You could get that result by not being here at all.

People write profiles because they have some expectation that what they have written will attract other people to meet them, so if you have no expectations, you wasted your time writing a profile. If you expecting your profile to attract at least one person and you are disappointed by the lack of success, disappointment will motivate you to improve your profile. When you expect nothing, you are really expecting to have no influence on anything that happens, no matter what you do.

Pretty sure when you aim high in swinging you will undoubtedly get thrown off the swing.

Oh, I don’t know, Tramp. I’ve known a few people who seem to aim high, with the ultimate goal being disappointment.

They often hit the bullseye too.

I’m pretty sure that was just humor.

If you're never disappointed, you haven't set your expectations high enough.

I like that.

Re: LS lesson #44. I’m a terrible fighter, and even worse in bed.

LS corollary #1: Set the bar low enough and you’ll never disappoint anyone.

LS Lesson No. 45:

General Disclaimer

(This probably should have been Lesson No. 1, but better late than never.)

Tramp’s LS Lessons are meant to be guidelines for wise men and not Gospel for fools. Stated differently, there are almost always exceptions to every rule. Such is the case (albeit very rare) to Lesson No. 44 below.

Follow that rule always, without applying your own good judgement and instinct and you may well receive, or miss out on, a prodigious licking...whichever the case may be.

LS Lesson No. 44:

Men who boast profoundly concerning what they can and will do, rarely possess either ability or intentions of doing it.

This is very true for fighting; truer still for fucking.

It’s just a guy thing.

Top of tha morning (afternoon) back at ya, BT

New Orleans, LA, Us

That'll lengthen your years...and your penis. Both of which will make things more enjoyable, I'd imagine.

Ga'morning' Tramp!

Lesson No. 43:

There is a huge difference between folks with opinions and opinionated folks.

The former are as interesting as are the latter caustic. I’ve found an ample supply of both. Avoiding opinionated folks will lengthen your years here on earth substantially...or at the very least, make them far more enjoyable.

I didn’t know that.

But, in my defense, I understand that it has been pseudo scientifically suggested that an inverse relationship exists between one’s involvement in these forums and their perceived meaning in/of life otherwise. ;^/

Tramp, you are aware that the number 42 is considered the meaning of life and it could t be better explained then how you just did.

Lesson No. 42:

A fool and his money are soon parted. A fool and his wisdom were never acquainted.

Ample evidence of both of these axioms is abundantly provided in these here forums; hence, no further explanation is required.

Lesson No. 41:

Success in swinging, like most things, requires three things: 1) Opportunity, 2) Ability, and 3) Luck.

When you dedicate all of your effort to online communication, you’re relying primarily on the last of these with the benefit of the first two.

It can still happen, and occasionally does; but it’s unlikely at best.
