A question about certs

In general. profiles with recent certs tend to be more reliable. We can't speak for single males as we're not interested in them but the same should apply.

For us Certs go to profiles that we have had a great time with. Mostly, it they are for couples that we have known quite well.

Also check the profiles that Cert'ed your candidate. Also check how old are the Certs. A Cert from 10 years ago isn't worth as much as one from last year.

Another thing I look for is that the profile of the CERTs is still an active member on SLS. If more CERTs than not are no longer active it gives me pause. The exception to that might be if a CERT is particularly old and the people have moved on, however, if the CERT was given say in Jan 2019 and now that profile is no longer searchable (aka gone) makes me wonder.

Similar to what Sorillo said this is just one of many things I take into consideration. Another verification tool I use s to voice chat or video chat with potential 'playmates' - email alone would never be enough for me. I also expect to have switched phone numbers by the time a meeting is set.

Have fun - you can never be too safe. Speaking of safe - bring your own raincoats (her perference of course) wink wink

Unfortunately it's not insurance, there's plenty of folks who have certs that will flake out. Certs are just one of many tools to decide if that person/couple is right for you.

However, I think it's safe to say that the consensus is that your percentages are much, MUCH better with cert'd people vs un-cert'd.

We are very close to making a date for our first MFM and have had some emails with a few candidates. In the forums, I see a lot of posts about fake profiles and no-shows. In your experience, if a SM has at least a handful of certs, is that insurance against fakes and/or no shows? So far, we are only considering certified members. Any advice? Thanks!
