Wow, that's weird. I just logged out and back in and as mentioned, it did "un-merge" the messages.
Messaging System Malfunction
Mayhem, ours does the same thing but it seems after you log out and come back in, the messages separate properly. However, I'm sure the 'staff' will tell you that this upgrade is working 'perfectly' and they've tested it.
When using Message interactively, it merges a lot of messages. What I mean by that is my message sometimes appears at the end of the one sent from the person I'm messaging with or vice versa. Not sure if anyone else is seeing this but I have seen it before and it was pretty bad today when using it.
absolutely hate the Message system its a pain in the .... I to cannot understand why this system was implemented as a viable alternate to the old email system which still functions.. Messenger died with Yahoo .. Leave it dead
Bring back the regular messages. A website setup around people connecting isn't worth much when it's so difficult to send simple messages back and forth.
This site has a Gazillion members. Paying this site enough money to "fix shit". This website is as fucked up as a wooden watch. Just saying.

After only 3 days we were told to refresh our browser when we get the constant "reconnecting" banner on the messages page. One can only imagine the effort and diligence that went into that.
The SLS staff informed us that they have stopped supporting some of the more common browsers and that is why it isn't working.... yeah, that was a smart business move, lol

That's actually super useful information, but I'm not sure putting it here will get it to anyone in their time of need. I think the tech support email is listed elsewhere, but is there any way to add it to the pull down for support tickets?
I didn't check IM last night but I did the last time it went down and I couldn't create a support ticket then, although I've done so successfully several times. So, while I can't think why IM and support options would be coupled, at least twice a number of people have noted that they are, or are at least not functioning at the same time.

Judging by the number of you posting, there may have been a temporary issue at the time. If something is not working, you should always try logging out and back in and refreshing your browser. You need to be using the latest version of Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari. I cannot guarantee that any other browser will work. If you are on an Apple or Android phone or tablet, you need to have a relatively new device or you may have issues. These forums are NOT the way we provide support. I try to check them from time to time but as far as I am aware, no administrators sees them and likely does not know any of these threads exist.</p>

Its so bad that there is a lack of confidence as to whether a message was delivered or recieved.
We tried to message someone earlier and it stayed in "reconnecting". Just checked and it is working now.
Folks, we all know the pain. Bottom line is:
they ... don’t ... care ... about ... your ... complaints.
SLS will NEVER admit this was a mistake and the square peg will continue to be forced into the round hole.
unfortunately, there is not a viable, alternative LS website and we are stuck with a sub standard product that has the large user base we want. they have us by the balls and they know it.

Can't get emails, or send a trouble ticket. When will it get fixed???
Besides messaging, the Hot Date location option also is not working. Looks like the link between subsystems is broken.
Can't get to messages and can't submit a support ticket. Isn't this like the 2nd time this week this system has gone down? At what point does SLS just go back to how things used to be? The new messaging system is very flawed.
Wish they would bring back the e-mail but it's apparent they have no intention to.
Why can’t those responsible for removing the email function just wipe the egg off their faces and admit the change was a huge mistake and reinstate the birdie! Simple solution, what’s the issue with having email? Seriously!

It literally worked one message and I send another in 15 mins, it's down. It's been down about 5-6 hours now. No matter what I do, it gets to the messages page and says "reconnecting." I've logged out, used a different browser, turned off wifi and used on my phone.... App doesn't even let me log in, says connection error.
Went to fill out a support ticket. That doesn't work either.. Can't even send one, can't select topic... I hit send and it just greys out and come right back with no indication it was ever sent
it would be nice if i could even submit a support ticket but i cant i feel like i was just robbed cant even message anyone because new messaging system is down lesson learned old sls was actually decent
Can I get a refund? Way too many complaints and Over Zealous Moderators on this site to suite me. Updates to my profile have to be approved by who... childish rubbish it is!
