Messaging System Malfunction

We cannot even sign-in to the message system today.

Along with so many of you, I have been having the majority of these system problems for over 2 months. Restarting Windows 10 did not do any good. Same with several releases of Firefox. Also used 2 other browsers and still the problems remain. Tried clearing the cache, getting rid of all cookies. The only common element for all these problems is SLS. I'm not experiencing them with ANY other website. Yet they (SLS) sits on their collective asses and scratch their heads in wonderment. I've been in the computer industry longer than many of them have been alive and can say this is one of the worst Fuster Clucks I've seen in many years. SLS was once a very good site. Now, not so much. Many folks point to the same problems but the only responses we get are hurt feelings and self-righteous indignation from engineers who feel if they don't see a problem on their end it must be all of us. This is absurd to say the least. There are too many variables to make such a blatant statement. VERY DISAPPOINTED.

SLS...you need to read the message posted by RonKathy. The changes you make arbitrarily are a mess. Removal of email and changes made to hotdate are screwed up. Why not consider getting input from lifetime members before changes are made. It would be nice to get to provide input before springing permanent changes on us.

SLS wow. How about this.. read what paid people are saying about your changes.. they are terrible. Not user friendly or wanted by the masses on SLS

Now to add to this you treat paid Lifetime members like children with a hovering mommy... the idea that we now have to get approval of changes.. the smallest change is absurd. If you at SLS are that Paranoid of FOSTA with Lifetime members who made changes to their profiles for years with no problems.. then sell the web site to someone not as paranoid.

It is a waste of your time and our time to sit around when we make changes on our profile with paid Lifetime members. Yes we get what you are doing.... sit and wait for second change... as we made 2 changes within hours and now waiting for "SLS mommy" to approve them ….very sad! Stop being so paranoid and enough with these terrible unwanted changes.

Yes SLS people at clubs , events and other places are talking about SLS but not in a way that is good for your marketing.. listen up .. and yes long time swingers who do get around the USA... SAD!

friendlyandhorny. I thought that might be it but I have gone to the very bottom of the countless messages and there is nothing new. Query: If you get a message and for one reason or another do no reply but you do actually read the message, does it show as being an 'unread message'? Bumped to 12 just now. I can read the 2 'new ones'..so confusing

The Improved message service is Fucked Up Again........
Showing old unread messages. These were NEVER a problem before the Improvements.
They got gone yesterday and now THEY ARE BACK AGAIN.
Please take my money and hire some help that knows what they are doing.

Keep scrolling down to your earliest messages, they're unread ones from the old system that just got bumped over. It happened to a few of us over the weekend.

my page says I have 10 messages continually yet none are visible. If it bumps to 13 or so messages I can read the 'extra' 3 but never find the 10 that my page says are there. Anyone else have this problem?

You have not been here very long. They Already have deleted our old emails. THEY decided we didn't need them, and Without any warning they were fucking gone. They never considered that swingers travel to destinations once a year. We want to continue contact those acquaintances we made last year up in the Rockies.
Management has a better idea.
They want to turn the site into some twitter tinder bullshit. That caters to unemployed millenials.
They have no idea that the backbone of membership is employed, hard working class folks. That use EMAILS every day for communication with the rest of the world. IM has been gone from AOL and Yahoo for years. SLS does not know why. Go ask Myspace if it is a viable form of communication.
The truth is the powers that be are going to do whatever they decide and we do not have any ability to change that.

constantcravings the point is train wrecks are not limited to this site and it could be worse. Of course this is bad enough but like I said they could be melting graphics cards or deleting files from your hard drive.

What in the world does the Blue Screen have to do with being an engineer on model trains ?
I don't see any evidence of any IT talent here. In fact these engineers are making the SLS trains run Backwards !

constantcravings not funny at all. Years ago a video game sent out a patch with an unknown bug that deleted the boot (startup) files off everyone's computer that updated resulting in a blue screen on a restart. It affected about half the accounts before they caught it and pulled the patch. The same video game also updated and graphics cards in some older systems started actually overheating and melting.

OMG! Today (just a little bit ago) I thought we had been flooded with messages. Turns out they were ones we had received BEFORE the e-mail system was shut down and everything went to messaging. To make matters more confusing all but 2 were from people we had blocked because of those messages. One was from a current friend about perhaps getting together this week while another was from someone new. That said 10 of the notifications were old and from blocked folks.

Oh and while if you are reading this it went through but we have had issues replying to forum posts as well today.

Scroll all the way down. Ours were all from 2018, and as has been mentioned, many from people we blocked.
