Fix the website already

I actually theorized a few years ago that they are purposely running the site in the ground, because they sold too many Lifetime Memberships that they're not getting new money from those people and want to drive them off the site... I wonder if SLS owns any of their competitors??

I know I'm beating a dead horse here, but I'm going to, because I just renewed my profile for 3 months after being unpaid for a bit and I feel I completely wasted my money...

HOW IS THIS SITE HAVING 2003 ISSUES IN 2023??? Seriously, a middle school kid could create a website that is more stable and user-friendly. Without the new mail counter, it's impossible to get a reply to a message. What's the point? At the least they should let people post off-site contact info in their profile, so we can at least communicate with each other.

Strange to me how they let these issues fester, I'd think they'd do whatever needs to be done to really fix the site, and grow the business, or if they don't care about the site, then sell the asset (membership db & brand) while it has some value.

As a software engineer these are easily fixable problems. You need proper software development lifecycle practices and these issues won’t persist.

This is unacceptable in normal circumstances.

Not only are we not getting messages, but no one has viewed my profile in over a month. Plus I’m loosing what people have viewed my profile. Had almost 300 now I’m down to 133, and yesterday it was 135. Wth?

The amount of error pages this morning is ridiculous.

They have made another site improvement. Now there are two pretty red banners. Now if they can just get the the green fucker to jump from one banner to the other. If they keep adding banners, there won’t be enough room for the page.

Well, it's been a minute since I've piped in. Due to the problems with the site, I've not even been trying. What I have learned: When I used the site a lot, I experience problems 95% of the time. When I used the site a little, I experience problems 99.999% of the time.

What I still don't understand is: How is it we are being told the problems are being fixed... but it's the same (types) of problems, over and over and over, for years? SLS_Wayne--you can say you and the "developers" are "fixing" problems all you want, but when the same problems exist for years--there's nothing actually being fixed. Perhaps you're fixing problems for individual users, one at a time.... maybe. But wouldn't it make more sense to fix the overall site? You know, for everyone? If you do actually have good developers, then it is quite obvious that administration is tying their hands and not allowing them to do what needs to be done to fix anything. If you don't have good developers, well... that's the problem...

Chat does not even load now .....you get a bad gateway message or this site can not be found . After more than 10 yrs on this site This is the worst it has ever been . Wayne will tell you everything works fine & if you question something ......his reply .......because that is the way the owner wants it . Sooo I guess he likes broken . The only one that tries to help is site chat . They need to hire a company that will ignore the owner & fix it without his stupid intervention because he obviously does not know what he is doing . Next they will have a tantrum about people complaining and get rid of chat out of spite or just boot me from it lol .

Never recommend it anymore, and often if we mention sls during a conversation people either groan or make fun of how outdated the site is.

That is unfortunate. That is avoidable.

As has already been mentioned, lifetime members will likely stick around. They still have a good sized member base and it's not costing us a dime at this point. I am and have been on 3 other sites for quite some time. Really only active on 2 of those because I've never had good luck on Fetlife. No surprise since we are swingers and not really fetishists.

One things obvious. Other sites are benefiting from this poorly run site. If it keeps going this way this site will be something in the past. Shouldn’t take months to fix something or a year to move to another site. All we hear are excuses from the owners or the ones who manage it. Own up to your site being complete junk currently. For those who are fed up suggest looking at other platforms.

the easiest fix would be to allow people to post a different mode of communication and i some people do not want to post one then they can take their chance on the site working properly, but those running the site do not want that because they cannot control it and they all seem to be a bunch of control freaks waving there power in front of everyone. kind of reminds me of the nazi's

Wayne has no idea what is going on. He has literally given 7 different reasons why the website is broken....only to come full circle and say the website has no issues at all. He has no credibility AT ALL since the site hasn't been working properly in over a year!!!

I can respect that Wayne is here and at least confirmed what was actually happening to quell the expectations. Now it’s on the members to decide how they wish to proceed by either staying or leaving. They can’t say they were mislead as he honestly stated what the owners intentions are and that’s staying the course.

What?? You mean his response a while back that "... I think it is a regional problem that depends on where you access the site from - I haven't heard of any problems from people accessing the site from Florida and the Carolinas, only from people on the west coast..." was not credible conclusion by him?
