For us? Out of shape hubby makes a couple ‘cute’ (we’re not going to play).
Most of the women here are beautiful, well kept and obviously at least try to keep themselves up. Very likely it’s a reflection of social expectations for women.
A very small percentage of the husbands seem to care so much.

This is an interesting topic. We are realistic that many enter the lifestyle seeking their "fantasy" experience, which includes the "looks" they like in guest stars. We probably started out that way as well.
After much experience, we've learned that plain packages can hide amazing physical, emotional, and erotic delights. Most of the swinger "hot couples" have not been very nice or kind people. Quite the opposite is the case. We both want to like the people with whom we play. It makes the play so much hotter in our minds.
Not to get too philosophical, but in the lifestyle there are groups and individuals for every desire, proclivity, and kinky interest. So, most should fit in regardless of attractiveness.
With all this said, my wife has her preferred guy or gal looks, and I'm attracted to a type, but not exclusively.

I'll apply "attractive" to someone based on appearance or personality. I generally only apply "cute" to someone under 40 and based on appearance.
It's usually not a good thing if I consider someone's personality cute. ;-)

Attraction implies we're drawn to them and in in the lifestyle context we'd describe those we want to "do" as attractive. Cute is.. well.. they look nice together. It's like calling a woman handsome or saying to a southerner, "Well bless your heart..."
Perception and intent.
My mind tells me that attractive people hookup more than Cute people. lol. I think I would want to be more an attractive couple than a Cute couple. All in ones view I guess.

A couple can be attractive on first looks but bitches in a real meet. Cold, no communication skills, nasty to be around. Stuck up.
A cute couple can be someone who lives life to the fullest, well kept, well dressed, smiles often, laughs at funny sayings, just fun people to be around.. there cuteness is in the way they carry themselves even if not ken and barbie.
