People that speed up when you try to pass them (and there's room to) then slow down when you can't. Kind of a WTF, but I ran into easily 5x more of them today than I normally would on my commute.
we have "who viewed me" turned off
People that message you because they saw you looked at their profile.
Looked at a guy that recently posted in the forums that lives across the country. Next thing I know he sends a message wanting to meet for drinks. I pointed out that New Orleans is awful far just to have a meet and greet.
And it just keeps happening.

I would look at it as paying someone 5 bucks to go away, that person showed their true colors, now you know to not trust them in any environment, and now you know to watch your back around that person. All things considered, I'd say you got off cheap, it's cost me much more than 5 bucks dealing with co-workers (and family members too).
Yeah... what he said.

“That seems like a cheap way to find out who the assholes are in the office”
I think it goes way beyond determining who an “asshole” is. I think it cuts right to the heart of the matter of whether a person is trustworthy, what their real character is, how they might behave behind your back, and a plethora of other dark traits about that person.
I’m pretty sure that’s what you meant, but I’ve seen the type, and for some reason they somehow continue to exist/survive in work environments that demand otherwise. THAT likely means the leadership in that environment is flawed in a big way.

That seems like a cheap way to find out who the assholes are in the office. Now you know who to keep a sharp eye on.

+1 to that
People who cheat in measly 5 dollar office pools.
Hotluvre,
It takes a thick skin to adjust to the life style. But just a few really nice people make it all worth it. Then when they want to meet and rock your world, stuff dreams(wet) are made of.
Carp2000,
For a single straight man, a 10% response is pretty good.
And, as you say, the good ones are worth it.
Beware of stupid people in large groups.
Unfortunately, common courtesy is no longer common. Especially in the online world.
The vast majority of our initial contacts go unanswered as well. At least we're not alone.
Same thing here wild one, "we want friends" "send us the bird" "don't just look say hi". Hundred plus contacts only about 10 replies. I'm going to stay positive and keep trying. The few are worth it.
We have been on here over a year now. We must have tried to contact several hundred couples. Many couples state in their information, " send a birdie." That is all well and good but how about them extending the courtesy of a response, either no thanks or let's meet. I do not think we are that undesirable or unwanted. Would appreciate any advice from anyone after you check out our information. Also if you would like to send us a "BIRDIE" we will immediately respond. Come on people let's have some common courtesy. You get as good as you give.........
Agreed I wish I could call them back and get a live person to talk to... I would love to piss them off..

Self absorbed siblings strike again!
We've owned two houses in the past thirty years. We don't smoke and no one has ever smoked in our home. Until this weekend. BIL and his wife came over so we could go to a convention a few hours away. Momma has COPD, Phoebert will never recover from a lung injured two months ago and I have allergies.
Phoebert went downstairs to the guest area to get something out of the spare refrigerator and the pot smoke was bad enough that he had to come back up, take a deep breath and hold it to get what he needed. So not only did they smoke in our home - they smoked an illegal substance in our home.
{sigh} Guess we'll be looking for other options next time we would like to get away. We've run out of siblings!
Thanks guys. Family does what it must.
Swingers may be the cool kids but MIL sure can ruin the mood in a hurry.
Anyhow - back to Pet Peeves - mine is self absorbed siblings!
P & W,
Blessings to you both for caring for her so well.

P&W - Maybe she just wants to hang out with the cool kids ;-)
Mom stayed in Assisted Living while we traveled in the RV last year. Now we share the common areas of the house with master suites at each end. But it's tough to play when she wants to meet & visit with anyone that comes to the house!
But her care is so much better now that the inconvenience is worth it.
888 - When you look at the costs of assisted living, what you did was probably not a bad way to go.
Plus she probably feels better being close to family like that and you still have your privacy. Kudos to you.
My disabled mother wanted to go into an assisted living community, so I built her a 1000sq ft full amenities suite on one end of the house and we still have others over to play on the opposite end of the house.
