R&S - For some reason I thought you guys were already married. Congratulations!
Happy Thoughts 2019
awesome scamp!
Our HT is I popped the question and she said yes.
:-)
BSS,
Will do!. I hope to see her late next month/early May. So, there's a HT for this lovely Friday.
BT
Well that is good to hear, NJ.
And on top of it all - it's FRIDAY!!!!!!
BT— please tell Peg I say hello, I miss her humor.
I always knew she had an interest in my hard drive.
va,
If Peg were here, she'd be wet right now...
Yep, that's my happy thought.

OMG a terrible problem has been eating all of my computer's hard drive space and I have finally found out that it was a huge cache of old OneDrive uploads. I reduced the cache hold time and bam now I've got an empty drive again.
Woo hoo!
HT a really nice weekend - Spending some quality time with my Little Ray of Sunshine on Friday and my Sunshine Girl on Saturday ;-*
awesome fun! It's on the top of my bucket to go to the Netherlands, as my grandparents are from there
Going to Amsterdam and seeing the Rembrandts and other masterpieces at the Rijksmuseum. Just amazing.
Finally headed home tonight.
First boat weekend of the year...
Fundamental,
That’s an awesome experience. I well remember my first time: a night time flight out of Teterboro; changed my life.
HOTD--A beautiful day in Atlanta, and took a young colleague flying, her first time at the controls of an airplane. She had a great time!
R&K - I KNOW you didn't mean it that way but when I first read your post I was like, "Wait, is the German Shepard the play date?"...lol
HT: A short work week coming up.
Weds night will find me in the sports book of a lil casino well away from the Strip with some ‘nilla friends I’ve known since my OC days.
Small batch, bloodies, and one night, perhaps martinis and a good red @ Andiamo.
March Madness with a couple of fellow knuckleheaded asshats.
BT
SA fantastic - enjoy the new digs and peace of mind
re: pi day
I did something stupid and engaged a flat earther on their dumb attempt to prove that alpha centauri A couldn't possibly be 4.37 light years away because we wouldn't be able to see it at that distance, given that the sun is only 500 light seconds away and brightness drops by a square function of distance.
Well, aside from the notion that stars aren't all the same luminosity, could we see our own sun at that distance?
4.37 light years is 275,813 times as far as the sun, so square that is saying that our sun would be 75.97 billion times fainter at that distance. So how dim would this be?
The sun is at magnitude -26.74. Alpha centauri A is magnitude 0.01. So the sun is 26.75 magnitudes brighter. One magnitude is the 5th root of 100 in brightness, so this would mean that the sun would appear at magnitude +0.24, only slightly less bright than alpha centauri A appears and almost exactly the same as alpha centauri B. So, yeah - you could see it, no problem.
Guy dismisses it as "just theory". Never mind that it's the same theory he was using in the first place.
I love math. I love math. I love math. And stupid people annoy me.
great news SA!
Congrats SA!

Sold our home, closed on our new home and moving in tomorrow. Began our next life chapter today and it’s looking like peace of mind is around the corner.
