Chaperoned my daughter's jr hs marching band's first Mardi Gras parade performance. Rode the bus from the school to the Quarter, and then, played pack mule, as I pulled one of two red wagons loaded with water and snacks behind the kids. Two blocks in, I had one of the coach's young sons bonk, and end up sitting on one of the coolers as I wheeled the damn thing through the Quarter.

Still, a lot of fun to see the kids march and play for the crowds.

HT: Home and on the mend after urgent admission to hospital for sepsis

HT: six year anniversary of my first 5k (Wounded Warriors) - it will always be the most memorable for several reasons

On Thursday, July 18 - almost 29 years after I skipped school - for the only time - to stand in line for tickets to see them - I will again see Iron Maiden live. This time with my son (I last went to a concert with him almost 10 years ago - KMFDM in Washington)

I am over the moon excited about it.

Lots of happy thoughts today...

New niece. Unfortunately they are across the country, so no hospital visit from aunt and uncle.

My second son found out they are having a boy. It is their first child. If the kid is anything like him, heaven help us.

Mrs. TBR has put up with being married to me for 14 years today. I'm a lucky guy...

That is a happy thought. I'm STILL waiting for a form (1099-G) from the state of Mass that shows last years refund before I can even start my Federal taxes.

This was actually one for the Mrs. We were invited to go away for a weekend with 3 other LS couples and possibly a SF. The Mrs texted me yesterday and said it made her smile when she realized that all of the other guests were 30-somethings.

If any of you are familiar with the Hulu show called "The Cool Kids", I kind of see us in a more fun version of that as we get older ;-) FWIW - I do post our REAL current age on our profile, so no math is needed.

Had a private party at the house last night and at one point, all 4 beds upstairs and all 4 beds downstairs were occupied at the same time. Was pretty epic.

Within 48 hours, we’ve had 7 showings, one scheduled for tomorrow and an offer. Our old agent managed to sit and watch our house on the MLS for 96 days and within that time, only have 7 showings. They claimed to be the best in SA with a vast client list, but couldn’t even pull off an open house until I suggested it.
My new realtor is amazing and is an absolute speed demon when it comes to finding us homes and selling ours. First thing was to take the house off the MLS, take professional photos, stage it and relisted it in that first 48 hour period.

HT: a case I'd been working for some time has finally settled. I am so glad to put this one in the can.

HT- that some people just can’t help but advertise what assholes they are. They may as well have “Insert foot here” tattooed on their mouths. It makes life easier when they advertise their character flaws.

Firing our current realtor and going with a much more aggressive realtor that knows how to move property quickly

I'm happy for many things but the one that makes me the happiest is being married to my best friend and soulmate.
