Happy Thoughts 2019

Bartlett, TN, Us

HT - I finally had some time to catch up on a few threads. SA congrats on the quiet life. OMG R&S thought this was never going to happen . . . I love telling your story, now more than ever. Seems BT is somehow involved in all these celebrations . . . makes you go hmmmm (luv ya, mean it).

We are actively discussing a date right now. Let’s get some dates floated around and see if we can get everyone on the same schedule.

HT: A last minute invitation last eve to hear humorist/author David Sedaris read from his books, essays, and diary. Hilarious, irreverent, dirty, dark, sarcastic, and often times, just plain wrong. I haven't laughed that hard in a very long time.

HT: Excellent results after installing racing grade rebuild kits on the carburetors for Mrs. 888's Kawasaki Ninja. Reassembly of the body moldings makes it riding season ready.

SA,

Are invitations coming out or are we just gonna see the photos of the party a day or two after? - Asking for a friend...

Looking forward to our last housewarming party.

Congrats SA, that is a HT indeed!

I never knew that I could actually relax at this level. I can hardly express in words just how calming this has been. My neighbors rescue cat brought us a housewarming gift this morning and I’m glad D was out shopping. Pretty sure she woulda lost it at the sight of a live snake on the patio. Cats are so weird!

Great! Glad you're enjoying your more laid-back life out there!

Moved out to the country. Have not mentally roadraged a single person since we got out of the city. Life is good!

There are a number of websites out there dedicated to science education and not ideology. One of the better ones is geneticliteracyproject.o rg (started to stop the disinformation campaign surrounding GMOs, but deals with other topics).

Ralph Nader's Public Interest Research Group published a typically hysterical warning about glyphosate aka RoundUp in wine. Basically they found traces (modern analytical techniques are now so sensitive that we can find traces of plutonium in the hair of almost everyone on earth, leftover from nuclear testing in the 1950s).

The site published a hilarious article with the headline "Activist group finds drinking 140 glasses of wine a day could expose alcoholics to potentially harmful levels of the herbicide glyphosate".

My roommate is, among other things, a personal chef who works out of our kitchen. We've been cooking in tandem all afternoon, because if the stars align very, very precisely, my guy miiiight be here this weekend and I don't want to waste time cooking that I can spend doing my imitation of human Velcro. The HT is how much of a dance it's been and how much fun. The salt kept getting misplaced, but otherwise it's been kinda magical.

We've only blocked a few, one that posted some crap on the fora about breeding whites out of existence or some insane shit, ain't nobody got time for all that. A couple of insistent SM's who just don't read, but we have a pretty good list that have apparently blocked us, most of whom have messaged us in the past.

BSS way off base you missed the entire days events with the English major and her sidekick .. The English major always calls out profiles for poor things no matter what they have written in the better profile section and she admits its her pet peeve. .. this was more about a comment made about people, who she stated something in a prior post.. so nope nothing about grammar.. we could care less what people think about our profile. Blocking those who don't make this journey fun just makes our SLS experience that much better. Sort of like blocking that annoying telemarketer everyday.

If someone blocks me, they stay blocked.

"... they block us, we simply go into our friends list and unblock them from our side."

Yeah, that's what I do as well. I've blocked six profiles - three for forum related reasons, two for dick pics they were told not to send and one for comprehensive assholery - and those stay, but I unblock everyone else from my side immediately. I'd like to say it's for altruistic reasons, but really it's because I can't be bothered to remember whoever did it and removing the block makes them vanish completely.

"This Ron and Kathy block simply because they are called out on grammar?"

It appears to happen whenever they're called out in any way, because that conflicts with the way they want to see themselves. Some people don't like being criticized, even tangentially.

"Would calling yourselves that make you self-defecating"

...."and her sidekick". Never had that moniker before. Occasionally I have been referred to as a kickstand.

This Ron and Kathy block simply because they are called out on grammar?

I think I am a bit lost.

Congrats R&S...xo
