"Because it’s all about ME ME ME (foot stomps in background) "

I'm assuming you are talking about the men that ignore the information in my profile that clearly states I'm not looking for single men otherwise this comment has no relevance at all.

The ability to block single men from messages you. Not blocking them completely, I want to be able to search them or view their profiles but I don't want to be contacted by them.

please don't add a "flirt" option, it will just be more spam from people unwilling to take 3 minutes to write a message.

Things I think are needed badly:

Better categorization of what someone is looking for. hotdates, group sex, events, etc.
Better categorization of sexuality. BiCurious, Pansexual, Demisexual, etc.
The ability to SEARCH on the things above.
Notification of when someone gives you picture permissions.

<p>Hot Dates will show "Traveling to" (and the city name) when the Hot Date zip code is different than the zip code on file for the profile.</p>

this site really needs something to tell you if a person is just visiting your area.

As for flirts, I find them useless, Facebook still has pokes I think - that is rarely used now. I agree just send a message. But, a flirt would be different from a message. If I received a message if “hi” trash that one, but if I knew it was a flirt hi message that would be different as it can’t be longer - so if you did make a flirt that sends a short message it has to say it’s a flirt message so you don’t think they have no conversational ability.

I thought I posted this but must have did something wrong. The two changes I w out of make if I could are:

  1. Remove the add a friend link from the default photo. This reduces the likelihood of accidental requests, while leaving the option still available inside the profile.
  2. Fix the Messages notification so we do not have to keep going in to see if anyone responded.

We currently have no complaints with the site. However, @ Onehrneywife; that’s quite a profile pic. 59 years old, fucking smoke show!

So one could use the same argument to get rid of these forums.</span></p>

It was a place to socialize virtually. It costs very little to leave it in place. If you like it, you can use it. If you do not like it, you do not have to use it. You can even turn it off so it doesn't show on your homepage.</span></p>

Shrink or better yet eliminate the Friend request and just put a little hand waving in the spot.
I dislike the Big Friends button as It get hit by accident.

When thinking of the flirt feature I see it as the equivalent of a smile across a room, There is no real message other than" I notice you and wouldn't mind if we meet." In those situations you know that pursuing the process is welcome.

Wouldn't the same type of people that ignore your messages also ignore your flirts?</span></p>

Yes, same issue with messages. One you have logged on and checked any messages you may have gotten then you have to keep going back and forth checking for any replies. It sucks!

So they tried something with the wall and it was a flop. I don’t mind about that because at least they are trying something new. I can see one’s interest in a flirt, but it has no appeal for us. A flirt seems like a passive way to approach a potential interest. We would rather take an active approach by sending a message, giving our names, and opening our pics. I would rather see a fix to chat notification. I am typically on this site from my phone. I only get the red bubble that I have a new message when I first log in. If I respond and leave the chat to explore the site I don’t get a new notification if the person responds, I have to go into the chat to see if they responded.

Well, a couple of years ago they took the time and spent money to create The Wall category. No one knows what it is used for, and it serves no useful purpose. Why even have that? Why not create something the users actually would find useful. Say the ability to flirt. Yeah, Wayne says send a message. One of the biggest complaints people have is they take the time to send a message only to get no replies. With the flirt possibility at least, it is like saying hello and I may be interested. I am not a programming person, but I would be willing to bet a simple flirt to a person would take up less data on the web site than a message would.

Is the site perfect? No. Are there upgrades that could improve the user experience? Yes. Keep in mind that doing so may be very expensive. This was a site built 25 years ago and may be limited in what can be upgraded. To meet what users want might actually mean moving to an entirely new platform which would come both with significant cost and significant risk of information loss during migration. At the end of the day, does SLS meet our needs? For us, the answer is yes. We have been able to find and meet people in our local area.

Mich City, IN, Us

Why do upgrades when in their eyes it works perfectly fine

Seymour, TN, Us

Not looking to beat a dead horse but many many users have given or requested upgrades of one type or another without any of them getting done.

Wayne, thanks for addressing my questions/comments. I get it. My only point in all of this is the site could use some upgrades or fixes to basic functionality that other sites already have. Appreciated your candid responses.

Seymour, TN, Us

Yes, but is making it look like we are being contacted by a couple. That is basically saying hey I am a couple but no I am really just another single guy with no posted profile pic. False false false!

<p>I'm not going into details about the operation of the company. We have a team of in-house developers on staff. They all work full-time every week and all stay busy.</p>

<p>You asked about the peeps issue on the message page. It has not been corrected yet. It is not a high priority issue. It shows the correct profile type when you view the profile or view the message thread with that profile.</p>

They may well be, I have no idea. I am just speculating from the public info on the state of florida corporate registry.

Seymour, TN, Us

What's to say the owners are not the ones doing the programming?

If you do the the math and some research on line....
The parent company is Dashboard hosting LLC (see bottom of page)
Search florida corporate registry and you will find them and see the have less than 25 employees and revenue of LESS THAN 5 million per year.

So in a 24 hour period approximately 1000 new member were created, which includes BOTH paid and unpaid members, over 365 days and 5 million in revenue you get the following: 5,000,000/1,000/365 = 13.69 paid memberships per day on average.

I think those numbers reflect the actual membership actively using the site and its paid features. Since its REVENUE, out of that comes business expenses and Wayne and his peers salaries.

A GOOD programmer, which it seems they do have actually, if they are contract, can run anywhere from 100K to 200K per year/programmer. Take out employee salaries (Like Wayne) and operating costs and I am sure there isn't that much left.

This is why I think their programming team is in mostly maintenance mode and new feature support is ONLY done if there is time and money.

Wayne - am I close on these estimates? Of course, if you can't answer, thats ok.
