Undifined is back on the message counter

I'm sorry, sorillo, but in some venues you really need to up your foolishness game if you want it to be noticed. Although the puppet definitely helps your cause.

Push notifications? Pfffft. Isn't the friends feature that will be utilized in some soon to come new features enough to make that tradeoff worth it?

And, hey, I'd totally love to continue reminding myself to check messages in return for that cool switch back and forth between the rainbow people and the metallic ones.

Once upon a time we USED to have push notifications but that went away several years ago.

It is an excellent point, particularly since the messaging system is pretty primitive and breaks things up in such a way that it might be one message but shows as 31 due to length.

Honestly how hard is it to just click on messages and check? I could see the real inconvenience if we had and lost push notifications.

Lcmin makes an excellent point. To me it's irrelevant if there is one or twenty new messages. A simple notification that there are (or are not) any new messages is all that is really needed.

Probably needed the space to install another commercial window. You know, the intrusive ones that always work.

I know this is rather basic but keeping a running count on all the accounts is a lot more complex than saying > or = to 0

If there are any mails I want to know. I need not know if the count is 1 or 50

Perhaps the red banner was eating resources and slowing the site down.

Banner gone, undefined gone. But logged in and had no notification we had messages but when we went to the message page, we had 4 new messages. Site sometimes loads fine, sometimes takes minutes to load a page. But I'm sure Wayne will blame user error.

Just logged back on. Undefined is gone a everything seems to be loading up nicely. Let's hope it is fixed.

<p>That's a good idea as a temporary work-around until the dvelopers get it updated.</p>

<li>Select "Manage Homepage" from the Tools page</li>
<li>Set the "Select Your Start Page" to 'Mailbox'</li>
<li>Click or tap on the "Save Settings" button to update your changes.</li>

<p>Once you do the above, you will have an "SLS Home" and a "Home" menu option. The "SLS Home" menu option will always take you to the regular homepage. When you login to the site, you will go to your custom "Home" page.</p>

It's "Select your start page". Not personal home page.

You can set the site to automatically take you to the messages page when you log in.

From the main menu go to tools, choose manage homepage, scroll to the bottom and there's a drop-down labeled personal home page or something similar (can't remember the exact wording). Set that to mailbox and now everytime you log in you'll be taken straight to your messages.

Is it just us or is the red 0 worse than the banner? We can see many folks not bothering to look at messages because it says they have 0.

We’ve just taken to ignoring it now. If I remember to check messages so be it. Trying to get into a routine of going to messages upon logging in now.

Hitting Control-shift-R at the same time refreshed the browser & changed the red Undefined oval to a round red zero.

Yep, still have undefined this morning but I did have 3 messages. Does SLS not have a test clone web site of the main site to actually test "improvements" before putting them live per say. It is ridiculous that this is continuing to be a problem.

Wayne, the site is loading incredibly slow AGAIN. It is paramount you let the site owner know that the use of duct tape and bondo to try and hold this site together is not and will never work. It’s time for a complete rebuild of the entire site. A new, current and robust platform is THE ONLY solution.

We now have the red 0 as well. Regardless of whether there are new messages or not. Always a red 0.

Same functional impact as the banner. Need to go in and look to know for sure.

I'm apparently going to have the 'undefined" bubble until I reset my laptop and eliminate cookies, but at least whatever was slowing the site down to 300 baud rate seems to have ended.

Just cleared ours yet now we have a red zero and no messages at all. How hard is it to fix this site. Really? Please sell it off to someone who can.
