[LOCKED]slow loading

Agreed! Site performance is at an all time low! Absolutely ridiculous!!!!
It appears, their only interest is to bleed this site dry without investing in improvements, enhancements, upgrades, etc.

The pattern I see is this: during the week the site functions reasonably well, but as you get closer to the weekend, traffic increases, causing the site to slow. By the weekend when everyone is trying to confirm plans, etc., the site becomes completely dysfunctional. Based on this observation I’d say they need to upgrade their server to handle the volume of traffic.

I'm sorry...I jinxed it...fk...to good to be true

If this site gets any slower it'll be going backwards in time.

Its Friday night, and the site took a dump, as expected. Takes 10 tries to get to messages or the forum. If you see this post more than once, it means it kept giving me errors every time I hit submit.

Agree that the old "they are aware of the problem and they are working on it" statement means nothing when it's never followed up with a statement of what is actually being done to solve the issue. We all know that this has been going on for a long, long time.

MoeKarhy, totally agree! It's sluggish because they won't pay extra for quality servers to jandle theextra covid load

Arrogance and ambivalence are the two roadblocks to that. Proof being in the "you can do one thing to improve this site" thread. Rarely, RARELY, is anything we ask for implemented.

Sometimes slow loading is phenomenal for the provider and receiver.

Ummmm........ never mind.

It is not a developer problem. It is not a server problem. It is a money problem!

When you don't invest money to keep the code current, and the increase the number of servers proportionally to the number of customers, you get this mess we have here.

This problem did not develop overnight. There were many flags telling them it was about to happen, and time to take action. But action costs money and we know how cheap this site is run!

If they just listened to customer feedback...

lol... 'This site has always been slow during peak time" Yes... slow as a snail. ALL DAY LONG..... ON A TUESDAY!!!

We've been relying more on FB groups... Way to go SLS... you are forcing people to other sites... common ones like FB....

Yes, it is like cox, when you only have 1 option in town. It doesn't mean no one can tell that 1 option that it would be nice if they offered better service. This site has always been slow during peak time, there's just more peak hours than usual so more people are noticing.

there are no words with his latest reply...it's like Cox Communications when they are the only provider in town and you have to put up with their BS or go without. Same thing here.

This shouldn't be a developer problem. It should be a server problem unless your developers aren't very good at their job.

Think of it as a two lane highway to a popular beach. No amount of smoothing the road (developers) is going to alleviate high traffic. You need more servers (lanes) you will probably see a direct correlation between covid, the age of the servers and the error messages. More people than usual want on this 2 lane road the it's killing the servers. When's the last time your servers were upgraded (or increased if rented through a 3rd party)

We're sorry, it appears the web page you are tying to access seems to be having problems.

Our support staff has been notified. We will correct the problem as soon as possible.

Error [#irongate.Errorid#]

How about some sort of explanation from the tech department? Please... this is getting ridiculous.

When I login to work and get errors or major slowness, I immediately contact one of the developers and let them know about it.

They developers probably snicker and wonder how they got away with their incompetence for so long.

This problem isn’t about you, Wayne. You have trouble logging in to work, you’re getting paid as you sit there looking at error codes. This is about the thousands of people that are paying to get onto this site. This has been going on for months and it hasn’t been fixed. Do you expect all of us to believe the developers are so inept that they can’t fix the issue in that time? 45 minutes it took me from log on to post this, I didn’t get paid for those 45 minutes. Remember, THIS ISSUE ISN’T ABOUT YOUR INCONVENIENCE, it’s about your customers.

Hi Wayne. I work in IT so I know how it is. I think it'll help your subscribers here, including me, if you shared what the issue of the slowness is. Make it a bulletin on the FORUM here if you can.

You don't have to get into specifics but a simple description into the slowness cause (eg hardware, software, bandwidth) and what is being done to fix it with a estimated time to fix would go a long way.

We are here every day working. We know of the problems. They affect me and the other staff members as well. For every ticket I answer, I get error messages for 3 or 4 others. We have full-time developers and they are working on this. Not everything is easy or quick to fix. As customer service, I am not an expert on these issues or even what the cause is. I listen to the customers and I verify and report your issues to the developers and admins.

And 3 days later its no better !! I make an attempt to open a page then go to 3 other websites to get what I need from them, come back to SLS and my page still hasn't loaded. This site is virtually useless and no one in admin cares as long as they get our money !!

I swear I want to throw my iPhone away, but even if I got a new phone, this shit would still happen.

Almost 20 minutes and dozen tries to make a post.
