Site picture update

Still waiting. Is there something that is making this task difficult?
I would think you could do what you did with the other galleries.
Is there a technical problem or is this just back burner.

I really would like to know.

Wayne, Any update on restoring the personal pics?

Newark, Delaware

I've been trying to figure out why I can't view or share my photos. I've been an Unlimited member here for more than 10 years. Many of my pics were in a private file that I thought were in a safe place. Apparently not! Does anyone know if we can get our photos returned to our galleries? Unfortunately for me I no longer have the majority of them saved elsewhere after updating phones. This is beyond frustrating!!!

Here is an idea. Maybe before they did the purge these idiots could’ve told everybody to re-download what they want because pictures from five years or older are being deleted. There was none of that. There was no countdown. Only a supposed banner. This was completely cart before the horse. They’re fcking morons. I was told by admins that “many members asked for this”. What fcking assholes asked for this? Makes me think they didn’t take into consideration lifetime members photos or opinions bc they’ve already got us for our money. They can’t get more of it out of us. This was a disaster move. Gross incompetence by the leadership. There’s so many changes members actually wanted. This was never one of them. The addition of the dates of the images was working well enough to establish the stale pics (or bios) vs the fresh/active ones.

We're in the same boat and for the same reasons as njfuncpl22. Only difference...Not a nice move!!

When we questioned this after it happened. We were told that the old pics were removed but would be returned to us. We just need to give them some time but they will update us along the way.

So far all we're hearing is...CRICKETS!

Can't say I ever saw a banner about any pic purge.

Is there a plan to return them?

I am a bit upset.
I became a Lifetime Member, now named Unlimited Member, since November 2004.
Last night I logged on to SLS and looking at my galleries, all of my photos were removed/deleted, except for two
Why were they removed?/deleted
Who removed/deleted them?
Where can I find those photos galleries and how can I get them back?

I am wondering if this was a shortcut method to make integrating the galleries into the beta site simpler.
I was under the impression that when we were told they would be Archived that meant they would be moved to another new folder for our safekeeping and to share what we wanted with whom we wanted. As others have said, this was a photo history of our years on the sites with new lifestyle friends. I would sure like to get my photos (my property) back to share with whom I want. If you want to time-stamp every photo and, after five years, automatically move it to the Archive folder, that is fine. Then we can decide to share those photos with people as we want. If they are in a folder called Archived, then people will know they aren't getting the current look, but a fun look at past experiences. Treat people like adults. If looking at someone's profile and you're questioning the timeline, ask the person or move on. Hope you will make changes to your decision.
Hell - since all the photos are now date stamped there was no need for this at all. Everyone knew that photo was from 1994 because it said it right under it when you viewed it. Maybe this was just a storage purge to save some money?

Nobody said that there are not other ways of addressing these things. SLS WAS or at least supposedly was another viable alternative.

$20 1 tetrabyte thumb drive from walmart..... keep your NSFW pictures there.... if you want to be redundant buy two.... just in case....

Agreed on the last point.

On the first though there are those of us who did not display some of our galleries and used them as archives instead.
Having other non LS people who at times use our computer having them there is problematical.

class action suit.... lol..... SMH..... its a swingers site, not a cloud storage facility.... you also storing your tax returns and financial documents on here????. they can delete your pictures anytime they want for any reason.... what would you do if the website went kaput today, like out of business????

nobody wants to see your 15 year old pictures..... we get it, you were hot back then... now... maybe not so much.....

now if they really want to clean up the site they should get rid of unpaid/free profiles that havent been active in over 6 months....

that's a good idea, class action suit.

Mem, TN, Us

Maybe a class action lawsuit? Give us back our personal and intimate pictures. The site says nothing explicit here; but we all know most of us have posted something of that nature. Give us back our photos, or say that you have explicit non consensually stored photos of people on your site. We just need someone on here who is an actual lawyer in Florida, where the site is based, to do this.
It occurred to me earlier today that there should more people bitching about this and then it struck me. Many people adversely affected don't even realize this has happened because they have not logged on recently.

For instance I know one of our friends here has not logged on in 90 days. I know her photos have been deleted. I also know her husband died a year ago and she is just trying to figure out her life.

So these folks decided to delete her photos because random people suggested they should be deleted, wait removed, is SLS preferred wording. They deleted photos of her dead husband and her in a variety of situations from G rated to R rated. Who deletes peoples personal photos of their recently passed spouse. Fucking insane.
Heck- we're on all the time but missed the banner so just found out today. Frustrating.

Thanks Wayne, though the "as far as I know " part is a tad worrisome.

There were some pictures that we kept in a Private file that we used to flesh out who we are. some metal sculptures for example. Date was irrelevant. I do have them saved and could upload again but that is a lot of unnecessary bother.

I am certain others are in the same boat.

How about we all just resubmit our pictures? I am pretty sure you wouldn't mind the extra work??
Again I ask Wayne:
I thought the original banner mentioned remving to an historic data base.

Are these photos permanently deleted?
It mentioned that briefly due to the fact that we were shocked that so many people do not keep their own pictures. The pictures are still where they have always been as far as I know. They have not been touched. Their entries were removed from the database. The developers are looking in to some way for members to get them back on their devices. The pictures are locked and protected, so there is nothing in place for anyone to copy them.
