Open gallery alert?

It happened on multiple devices and cache and cookies were cleared. Probably just hit it during a time when things were in process.

I completely agree with an open gallery alert. I also don’t understand why calcanfun2 was blocked for their opinion. I like hearing as many opinions on this matter as possible.

Opening a gallery has been a way for many here to flirt with another profile. In fact, several profiles simply come out and say that if their pictures are open, they are interested. We have had it happen to us many times. This is the way people are using the site, and a big negative is that the developers seem to think that they know how to use the site better than those who actually use the site.

But what if the couple you open the galleries to does not have the "Who Viewed Me" feature enabled? How would they even know to look at the profile to see if the galleries are open?

While we may prefer that opening a gallery comes with a Message, that simply isn't the way many people here ae using the site. Maybe they are shy, a bit of an introvert, new, prefer someone else to make a move, or whatever. Other swinger sites have alerts when someone likes a profile, sends a message, opens a gallery, etc. If people didn't want these features, other sites wouldn't have them.

And counterpoint on the lack of engagement. How and when in the history of time has an alert driving traffic to a site prevented engagement? I'm just not following that logic. Are we to just guess who has opened their private pics for us? That act without a follow up PM alone is a lack of engagement, but quite often leads to the recipient reaching out in return. IF they actually know someone opened their pictures for them. And besides, on competing sites that type of notification is user optional. Not forced.

I disagree as well. Make a poll or whatever, Wayne. But don't unilaterally decide what's best or not for the majority of community members here based upon your personal opinions. That's just not how successful community websites should be run when your hope is for a shared ownership in the culture by your members.

"I don't think this is a needed feature. It is not a good feature. It is just another way for people to avoided engaging and communicating."

I suppose ....... In just the same way that sending a drink over to that cute lady in the corner never leads to anything.

"I don't think this is a needed feature. It is not a good feature."

Unlike the ridiculous option that sends a message that says "<--Click their profile image to the left and press the 'Private' button to accept and share all of your private pictures withgoodgollymsmolly98226" but is actually a demand that you send yours to them?

You can delete the private image access request today and I doubt anyone would complain.

People would actually like to give and receive the passive flirt-like overtures, because it's someone offering you something.

I disagree with most of what Wayne said . It may not be a needed feature, but it would be a good one. I also think it would most likely create more engagement and communication....it will either be ignored, which keeps the outcome the same in regards to communication/engagement...or it could lead to an email or message about the pictures being opened. The net result is either more communication or it stays the same.

If people use it as way to avoid engagement, they were likely not going to be successful anyways.

More than one other competitor site, in fact. This might even be the only one that doesn't.

I also agree, there is another site that does send a message when someone has given access, so this may be possible.

Strongly agree.

Why.. just look and see, its that easy.

For us we only open galleries on those we hope to play with or those we have already played with. Way to many "voyeurs only" on SLS

I'm not sure if somehow I'm missing this somewhere, but this site should alert you if another profile decides to open up a gallery to another profile.
