Messages disappearing into the abyss has been around for some time and they either don't acknowledge it's existence or don't know how to fix it.
On your end, you will unfortunately need to take the extra step of copying the text of every message before hitting the "send" button, so if if disappears from message history, you can paste it and try again!
M&C, we’ve had that happen numerous times where we caught it later after the fact.
I wonder how many people typed a Message, clicked to send it, and never noticed that it vanished and didn’t send. Now they just think their Message was ignored, assuming it was sent and received.
Looks like it's down again for the website & mobile app.
Just attempted 4 times to open various peoples profiles off their message and get nothing but error messages. I sent a support ticket in.

Sucks paying money for something that doesn't work. The main reason this site exists is to connect lifestyle folks...and now it can't even do that.
Ever since they changed the way messages work....it's been one issue after the next. As a business at what point do you realize that what you're doing isn't working?

Yup, hot dates blank as well. Obviously the problem is our shitty phones and computers.

Just checked. Clicked on one of my message threads and get a blank screen. Obviously my fault and not a site issue, just wish I knew what I’m doing wrong.
Lmao im sorry but i cant help to laugh. Everytime with these threads and legit , serious conversations but at the same time the default profile pics of people naked with their legs open discussing the latest crash and throughly annoyed . Only on sls folks , love it! Lol
That happens to me very often.
Click on messages, message list comes up. Click on name...nothing. just says recipient name. Ugh.
Trying to set up a meeting and of course message system is down. Constant problems. We did not get an external way to contact, so looks like going to miss out. Site so frustrating.
I have to concur with leggy that we can check back here in a years time and likely all these same issues will persist.

I have absolutely zero confidence that anything will be done about the issue of the reliability of the messaging system here. It is a constant problem and one that the owners of the site are more than well aware of for literally years. The ability to chat and directly connect to others here is a major benefit of membership. Unfortunately, it does not appear to get the same value is placed on it by management than as is by the users.
A funny thing is, we have been members long enough to remember "the first chat" program that was used. It was bulletproof, never going down and easy to use. Well, it got "upgraded" and ever since then, and we are talking years, the messaging system here has had constant issues. It clearly is a problem that can be fixed if the will to do so was there. I am not an IT person but dang, plenty of other websites have chat systems that work. Perhaps, management should ask what they are using?
Just happened again in an active conversation with a paid member... took five tries to go through.
It's a real issue.
It happens intermittently but often enough that I habitually copy before sending unless it's an extremely short message.
Since there is no way for a user to know if they are sending a message to a suspended profile or one awaiting deletion it really would be helpful for an error message to be returned rather than for the message to just disappear. Prohibited words/phrases are sometimes innocently used by people not involved in fraudulent practices.
Not sure if the system designers decided that returning error messages to users takes too much time and effort to program into the system or if they decided that customer service would just love to deal with repeated occurrences of user frustration.
Hopefully the system designer was competent and internal error messages are available to determine that there are not other unknown reasons for messages to disappear.
