@Foobar. I almost laughed thinking about your response and the debacle SW airlines suffered with an old system over Xmas. Bottom line, you can only place so many band aids on the wound. At some point realization sets in that you need to treat the problem to cure it. Since when does a message counter kill your system. No need for me to go on. We get it. We pay for a product at least get it to work, make it functional and make it classy.

You probably can, if you have the skills. In this case it is obvious that incompetence is involved. And no integrity, to allow this farce to keep going on.
But you are right, at some point an old system needs to be updated to use new/modern technology. However, then again, you need skilled people or you end up with a non-ideal system.

Well. I thought I’d review this forum site to see if there was an explanation for the slow and inoperative sections of this site. All of you answered my question and provided the explanation. Bottom line. This site sucks and so do those contributing to its creation. Not only do you not get the Hot Date section to appear, but by the time you post a Hot Date, it’s Leap Year. How much do we pay for this? And why is it that another site we belong to has none of these issues or excuses??? Thanks all for answering my questions. I wish us all good luck. And since none of us can reach out to anyone for entertainment today, I suppose we will have to wait until 2023 and pre plan the Hot Dates like a freaking doctors appointment. What happened to spontaneous? That’s what the hot date is for…like the other site. You feel like doing something tonight, you post it and boom. It’s there.
It appears some very popular AND functional social media sites are laying off a lot of employees. Sounds like a great opportunity to hire some folks who can actually make things work.... Just a heads up!
Well lookee there! We FINALLY have an admission from Wayne that the site does NOT run well! "...even those are instant WHEN THE SITE IS RUNNING WELL." Which is never.... lol. While there are ups and downs, I've NEVER known the site, overall, to run "well."
Hot dates don't show up at all. Great way to end a year of poor customer service from SLS.

Remember when there were post after post in the forums actually about swinging? Now 95% of the posts in the forums are complaints about the site not working or liberal political bullshit. When did they sell the site to CNN?
Wayne, I'm referring to the delayed never opening calendar in the hotdates, messages, and most other areas of the site. Get rid of your lawyers who keep you terrified about definitions of words and spend the money on someone who can fix your website. The lawyers have your pocketbook exactly where they want it --- in their control and hands.
I'm reading through the posts, and Wayne's responses seem very reactive. I understand that the site is probably coded with old programming languages and maybe layering UI (user interfaces) over one of each other. The functionality of the status of some users i.e. Friend Request Pending and the load time seems to be a data base or a call delay/lag.
My question directed at Wayne or any other users - have you had any plans or meetings with the users and/or focus groups for the UX (user experience)? I've enjoy the site for many years, and many of the functionality items are annoying or odd, but not show stoppers.
I'm sure that there are many software professionals on the site as consumers, project management, coders who would be more than happy to donate some time to do a deep dive on the functionality of the site in general, enhancements and the application.
But if that happens - sign me up. I just wanted to share something more proactive than a complaint and a demand of a refund.

They should refund. Super slow load times, things just not working at all.
Maybe SLS and Southwest Airlines use the same computer systems?!?! Remember folks. Your answer to your questions usually are: (i) submit a ticket because we cannot replicate (even though many report issues) or (ii) is your fault or (iii) there is nothing wrong with site so don't complain.

It's showing again, but I waited the five minutes and it was just the hot date page with no calendrer. Even after multiple page refreshes.
Please note: Items on this calendar may take up to 5 minutes to appear. Wayne came in and explained this was poorly worded, as it refers to newly posted hot dates. Sorry Wayne, you’re incorrect. It’s referring to the entire hot date page taking forever to load. Please explain to us how my statement and all our experiences are wrong.
Must be a holiday weekend or something… Hot Dates is down again. I’m not seeing the calendar at all here.
And an update - swiping is working now. I would use an emoticon shrug right here but then again the website doesn't support that either.
Thanks for the compliment couple! Probably user error again. Haven't cleared the cache or reset something on our end. You know, one of those things that websites built post 2000 automatically do behind the scenes but since this website runs off a Commodore 64 patching through Frames and dial up, they can't fix it.
@ncwv just checked out your lovely pics and swiping worked for me.
Swiping left or right in galleries to move from one pic to another now doesn't work. Checked out 6 profiles with multiple pics. Only way to advance from one pic to another is to use the arrows at the top of the page.
Wayne ... I never knew that's what it meant. I always thought it meant the same thing that wkendfun was referring to, due to the fact that many many many times when I load the page, it take 1-3 minutes for the calendar and dates below to populate for me.
