Probably a safe guess that the # of forum members total is a minuscule percentage compared to the total # of SLS members. It wouldn't surprise me if the thought in SLS management is that the silent majority are in favor or at least OK with the change.

To quote an old Star Trek phrase, "Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated" ;-)

New IM is a mess, bring back the mail or provide both. The decision to do away with mail, is an epic failure. Someone at the this site, listen to your membership and return the mail.

Realized just how small the 255 character Message block limit is before it starts splitting a message. Just this small post is more than half that.

Bring back EMAIL please. As of this writing, you STILL have it listed in your Terms of Service -

Please bring back the email.

Email back please, really dislike IM and HATE video chat, i will never answer not 1..

The new message app is great for chatting but I would still like to see the old email set up back for initial contact but the biggest problem I see is it does not support my older I pad operating system

Email.....not a fan of IM. It seems that people just send short messages like "hey" or "good afternoon". When we had email it was more of a conversation about reading and liking your profile. Now it just seems like a chat room conversation, not a great way to really meet people.

You can forget about complaining.

Members complaining will have zero impact on Management's decisions. However, there are lots of promoters, booking agents, and event sponsors out there on many other Lifestyle sites that all these people keep mentioning in your posts for others to consider.

That said, You have choices if you're upset. Do know we just booked attending a LS event through another website where we still have e-mail functionality and we can actually intelligently contact other attendees via e-mail. That ability to communicate intelligently is important to us, although it may not be important to others. Not our call on what should be important to others in their business or what they should think is important to people. It certainly is not a big deal for us to book elsewhere and our money certainly isn't going to affect anyone's bottom line here, or on any other sites.
However, it just made us FEEL GOOD to just spend the money elsewhere with other people. Guess, feeling good is better than feeling upset about the e-mail fiasco. Spending our money elsewhere is no big deal to anyone.

There are plenty of choices out there for people to decide who to spend and give their money too. It's all about choice, and SLS has made their Choice on what they are doing. And, whether you like it or not. SLS has every right to do what they want to do no matter what the members think. It's their business, not yours.

The LS is supposed to be all about feeling good, and not about feeling upset over the actions of others who are not interested in your opinions, or how you think things should be. You may think customer feedback is important. But many businesses that we all interact with on a daily basis in our personal lives do not share your feelings about customer service. We have stopped complaining and are now feeling good spending money elsewhere. which BTW we didn't do in the past. We liked SLS even with all the glitches. So, we spent our money supporting their promoters, agents etc. as we thought it was the right thing to do.

Since we're FEELING SOOOOO GOOD NOW, we can only ask the rest of you to:
PLEEEASE, PLEEEASE, PRETTY PLEEEASE, STOP THE COMPLAINING !

Email - instant message is annoying.

There are over 900 views for this thread, but only 52 posts. If you believe, like almost all of us who have replied, that an actual email format for contacting other members should be reintroduced PLEASE add a comment with your complaint about the recent changes to this and the other website forums discussing this issue.

ONLY if we get thousands of us to complain are we likely to get our email back!

I like the idea of having video chat. But I have messaged 2 couples that always reply back very quickly. Haven't heard anything from either one. I'm sure neither message was delivered.

The IM function does not appear to work right at times. PLEASE bring back the email!!!!

This new messaging system is impossible to use. Consider it as the "NEW COKE", and just go back to what was available before.

BRING BACK A REAL EMAIL SYSTEM!

And the real "vote" will be shown by how many of us choose another site to utilize instead of SLS if true email capability isn't restored here.

SLS STAFF - Not well thought out changes like this sink companies in weeks and months, not years in this day and age of multiple options for social media choices (to include choices for those in the lifestyle).
