You may want to research age of consent in the various states before throwing that particular term about.
It's making you seem a bit sick yourself.

"If you notice, I only ridicule those who think they know more than they actually do"
Here is what I notice. You never have anyrhing interesting to add to a conversation, and simply insult everyone trying to discuss stuff on a discussion board.
What is wrong with you? Why do you feel the need to attack everyone, all the time?
My agenda is truth, and I will attack lies spewed by anyone, regardless of the side of the political divide they are on.
As best as I can tell, you agenda is personal attack, everyone, all the time.
What is your malfunction. I mean other than hooking up with 17 year old when you were 37?
As for imagined... YOUR words! You have been "with her" since she was 17. Since you are 20 years older than her, that means you are a sick fucking pedophile. That is not imagined.
That's federal law not state. The companies targeted by the lawyers were the big ones like haliburton and Schlumberger. The ones with deep pockets. But all the smaller companies that do this work followed suit and switched to hourly too.
If you notice, I only ridicule those who think they know more than they actually do.
You certainly qualify.
I also only comment on poster's behavior here, and not some imagined transgressions from the distant past.
"But I sure know how to push your buttons.."
Yeah, just be a fucking, childish asshole, when adults are trying to have a conversation.
What the fuck is wrong with you? Who goes to a discussion board to try to shut down every discussion with personal attacks and general assholery? Why?
What is your basic malfunction?
I mean, other than being a pedophile that has been with your wife since you were 37 and she was 17. That malfunction I get. But just going into every conversation and inserting 1 sentence personal attacks against everyone? What is that about?
@LA
That is a California law I mentioned. I have no idea what it is where you live.
It was put in place for 'skilled' workers. It was not put in for 'management.'
Jeezus. Someone needs an online anger management program.
You need to do a better job of spell check.
But I sure know how to push your buttons...
"Is that like your Miami lie?"
You are such a dishonest fucking assailed!
You made a post about antibody study in Miami. Miami is ambigiius as to city, metro or country. Not wanting to be accused if cherry-picking a definition that best fit my point, I chose the possible meaning FURTHEST from supporting my point.
Telling everyone that you are selecting one of various possible ambiguous meanings is NOT LYING, you fucking asshole!
As for 2 million dead over 2 years, it was a prediction intended to contrast a more likely outcome that vabeach's prediction of 2000 dead from 400k cases and all over in 6 months.
That is not a lie, and is doing a much better job of predicting the order of magnitude and duration than va beach's prediction.
So, go fuck your child bride you pedophile... then go duck yourself assailed!
Most people I get why they are here. You? You just want to inject ad hominum attacks into every conversation. You never add to a conversation, push an agenda or anything other than just being a fucking asshole.
That whole your exempt from OT if you make over X amount is total BS. Thier is no limit. Has everything to do with if you're considered management or not.
The job I do in the oilfield used to be a salaried position. We were paid a base salary plus a truck allowance then a day rate for every day we spent on a rig. So depending on the number of days you worked you earned about 180 to 200K a year. Then in 2014 the oilfield crashed and guys got laid off. Enter lawyers, sense we weren't considered managers we qualify for OT. Class action lawsuits started by people who got laid off. End result, all were settled out of court for just enough to make the lawyers richer and all companies switching to straight hourly pay during the downturn in the market which ment on average about a 40% pay cut.
Thanks for nothing you greedy assholes.
"What I do is read, read, read everything I can get my hands on, then go with whatever experts have the best data and soundestogic and best fits reality."
Is that like your Miami lie?
Or is it more like your prediction of 2 million deaths in two years?
"First time for everything..."
Repeatedly over the last 4 months I have said I have no clue what the federal government will do from here. Republicans are not going to accept $1 trillion a month deficits, but without those mass deficits the economy will crash, which will get just enough Republucans to go along to stop the crash.
What I do is read, read, read everything I can get my hands on, then go with whatever experts have the best data and soundestogic and best fits reality.
In the case of what government does next, it is like flipping a coin. Experts and opinions of every side, but no reason for me believe one is more likely than the others.
"I truly have no clue"
Pulpit Confessions to the choir.
LOL
First time for everything...
I truly have no idea what will be in the bill or when.
Since March I have been blind on where we go from here financially. Every reason for stocks to crash, and just as many reasons for then to keep going up. Every reason for us to continue $1t a month deficits, and every reason for Conservatives to put their foot down and demand fiscal discipline.
I truly have no clue.
Something is about to drop tomorrow..
We could speculate about what exactly will be in the final bill.
We have no idea what kind of horse trading is going on.
All I will commit to is that the bill will be closer to the Democratic position than the Republican.
If Trump and the Republicans were smart, they would just pass the Democrat's bill, but the kabuki theater needs to play out...
@AZ
The latest statement is that they expect a deal done on Friday and then a vote next week.
What do you think will be in it?
Here is what I am thinking.
UI will either be $500 a week and the time that Pelosi wants or UI will be $600 and some sort of staggering down, possibly based on a 'trigger' for a period of time. I don't think this Congress really wants to touch this again and wants to kick the can to the next congress.
I think we will see stim checks the same as before.
I think that schools will be done.
I think the state aid will be 75% of what Pelosi wants.
I think that there will be Student Loan forgiveness.
I think that there will be some baseline of a liability waiver.
I think Mitch is going to get VERY political and say he will support whatever the president wants. I think you will see all the repubs who need the cover for their re-election say the same.
I do not think that this will pass 100-0. I think there will probably be 15 to 20 amongst both sides that will vote against it knowing that it will pass but will want the record showing they were against it!
what we are seeing now is what I expected in March. Republicans in the senate can't get enough of their own votes to even bring something to the floor. McConnell made a minimal proposal, and even that got attacked by his fellow Repubs.
It is clear that the plan of the Republcans... because it is the plan of the radical Libertarians that want to destroy the social safety net, to act as of the pandemic has magically disappeared.
Everyone back to work, like everything is normal!
It is clear that their only plan is for everyone to believe that "front line doctor" kook that thinks there is alien's DNA in vaccines, that demons have sex with people in their sleep causing nightmares, and that the pandemic isn't real.
"For example, fast-food managers are excluded from it. The law is supposed to support 'highly skilled professionals.'"
Most supervisory personnel are exempt employees, usually meaning the ability to initiate personnel actions, like hiring and firing, directing others work, etc.
I was a fast food manager for quite a while and was never hourly.
And we get notice that the WH and Repubs are starting to change their demands. WH is willing to go to $400 a week. McConnell is willing to go with whatever the WH wants.
Pelosi is gonna win this one. The sentiment out there is NOT on the repub side at all.
@AZ
Look at the law. It's simple for the employer. Let's say they want to pay you 50k a year to write code. You do the job. Now what happens is simple. If you work overtime, your salary is converted to an hourly rate and then you get overtime. They can keep paying you 50k all they want, they just have to pay OT. They can't get away and say, "Work 60 hours a week and get paid for 40."
The law has some interesting claw outs. For example, fast-food managers are excluded from it. The law is supposed to support 'highly skilled professionals.' So if you are a CSR sitting in front of a computer, you don't classify as a highly-skilled professional.
Of course Biden won't rip on mega corps... he never has. Nor has Obama. Warren and Bernie continue to rip the mega corps on a daily basis.
The Democratic Party has 2 wings. One that supports the full liberal agenda (Bernie and Warren) and those (Biden, Obama, and the Clinton's that invented Neo-liberalism) that support the portion of the liberal agenda that doesn't cost them any campaign contributions from the rich (abortion rights, gat marriage and gun control)
You do have to take a step back and admire the ingenuity of those big evil Corporations. Remember maybe about a year ago? It was the gnashing of teeth and wringing of hands about the pay disparity within the big Corporations. Elizabeth Warren was going to take them down because of the pay disparity between the CEO and the employee who's most significant skill is making coffee and getting bagels in the morning. These were also the most likely suspects of the Phantom Menace known as Systemic Racism (JPM). Plus a few of them are the one most likely directly responsible for the other Phantom Menace; Global Heating, Cooling Climate Change (CVX). Hell, just do yourself a favor and run through the names in the Dow 30 and you'll see the usual suspects from many a Bernie or Barack speech.
What changed? These guys and gals don't run the biggest, profitable Corporations because they are stupid. A couple of print pieces. A heart wrenching TV spot and yes........write that check and pay the vigorish to Black Lives Matter. Chalk the sidewalk in front of our Corporate Headquarters? Sure go ahead. Make a larger reference in our Annual Report to Diversity? Sure, not a problem. Allow our employees to wear a specific message on their uniforms? We'd love to accommodate that.
Talk about Magically Disappearing. I'll bet Vice President Biden won't make a negative comment about any big Corporation......as long as they are or at least appear to be fashionably woke. Gone are the days of Senator Elizabeth Warren giving a public tongue lashing to Jamie Dimon or David Solomon.
These days? For what they get out of it? The Vig is pretty cheap.
@ea:
Thank you, I learned something new today.
Not that it changes anything for me personally, but I think I might have to poke a few colleagues and ex-colleagues.
