Yeah there are other sites that allow F-F or M-M couples. For the few instances I've seen it the F-F couples are generally bi in a lesbian relationship, and the M-M "couples" usually bill themselves as some sort of straight gang bang duo or squad.
I would venture a guess that people who are insecure with their own gender and/or sexual orientation would say something like that on a site like this.

If I had been asked for my opinion I would have suggested blue for guys and pink for women regardless of their sexual orientation. Transgender could present a hot topic for issue for discussion though. One color for MTF and another for FTM...?
This site doesn't allow for MM or FF couple designations, which must sucks for those couples that we've run across, but maybe a blue-blue and pink-pink combo for those profiles...?
They must have a reason for 1 color fits all.

I noticed and mentioned a while ago that SLS doesn't really cater to gay couples, even though there are obviously gay couples that swing. It doesn't explicitely exclude them, but as an example, there has never been a gumby combination for them. Just not really their target audience as I recall.
