Claudine Longet, whose conviction for shooting and killing her boyfriend, Olympic Skier Spider Sabich over shadowed her mediocre career as a soft rock singer-actor, died at the age of 84. Technically negligent homicide.

I never considered Revenge of the Nerds a romcom, but... OK.
LOL! Different "strokes" for different folks, I guess.
When I was a wee lad, I thought it was hillarious.

As an adult, still funny and iconic of the time.

The sequels "could" classify as having some Rom with the Com....

...but....

...that first one. Looking back, the whole Skulnik disguised and pretending to be another guy to get laid...makes me....not happy.

Eventhough the female character was happy about it later, that's a bit of a crossed line into "consent not given."

And by a little, I mean shot out of a canon over the line.

Still...doesn't detract from Donald Gibb's character as he was a bully who turned hero in the sequel. The character of Ogre showed you could be an athlete AND a nerd at a time when it wasn't "cool."

And the person, Donald Gibb, himself? Really great guy and family man.

Always enjoyed him as an actor and as a person.

He will be missed.

I blocked him and a couple of other clowns that post of here.
He treats the forum like it’s his personal diary. He even has a wank journal. I don’t think it would really matter if people respond or not.

There’s no way to deal with someone who makes a grilled cheese or a bowel movement and comes here looking for “atta boy!”

Met him once years ago through a co-worker; he was one of the coolest and most down to earth people I've ever met.
Wow.

I'll never forget his line from Revenge of the Nerds III, when all were stranded on an island... "What if C-A-T, really spelled dog...?" It took about one full second to hit, but then the nerds in unison went "whoooooaaaaaaaa!"

Such a simple and iconic line for an 80's romcom movie!

Ted was the man! Revolutionized cable TV, Cable News, marketing, pro team ownership, and on and on.

The man was ahead of his time.

In those days, it was Jimmy Carter, ATL Mayor Maynard Jackson and Ted Turner.

Atlanta was hot!

Ted Turner...

He was someone that I did not have a 'need' to meet, but would not have turned down an opportunity to meet and talk with. I remember the business feud that WWE's Vince McMahon had with Ted Turner, back in the 1990s.
