Just Wondering

FlirtyandPokerPro - I can't help wonder if the ONLY reason the Forums have not died completely is because there is a core base of people with lifetime memberships.

Both of us love talking about our favorite hobby and I certainly don't have a problem posting my personal opinions or sharing knowledge here, but I suspect there is a significant audience that is and will only ever be "read-only" forum members.

One of the problems discussing LS adventures is that some can perceive that as just bragging, so I know I do a little less of that these days for that reason. It's also a reason you may see more direct messages vs forum posts.

I miss the old forum days. I used to spend way too much time reading and responding to posts every morning. So many great forum posters seem to have left the site or lifestyle. It's definitely changed on here. I've noticed that when I've posted a comment or question in the forum, the responses come to me as individual messages rather than in the forum thread. It's like no one wants to express their opinion or share their knowledge publicly.

Well... I'm running out of puppet jokes.

I need some new material. sigh

Seems like most of the forum topics have stopped being used and those that are are not all that interesting anymore.

I was wondering the same thing, Kitten.

Just like LS conversations, I try to do a mix of topics and not just sex. The sex ones are fun and it is absolutely GREAT to be able to talk to LS people about anything. Many of the forum participants are regulars, and there just isn't anything new under ther sun to talk about sometimes.

I did have one of these kinds of conversations just the other day at a LS party though. One minute we're talking about how our kitchen renovation is going, the next we're talking about how lickable/suckable a particular woman's clit is, but it really IS amazing. One time I was rubbing it in between rounds (which is what lead to the next round), and couldn't get over how it was the rough size/shape of a AA battery. JW if anyone else has come across a clit that big.

Sex with this woman is amazing and at the risk of sounding crude, I do really look forward to having that big clit in my mouth. Hard to tell who enjoys it more, her or me. Unfortunately I'm like a butterfly in the wind at these parties, and the wind did not blow me in her direction last night at the right time, and there were other butterflies everywhere ;-).

I just saw the inquiry of not seeing a profile in a search result, but it is still an active account. I also saw Wayne's post.

If a profile is dormant for 29 days, it will show up in a search. But, if the profile is dormant for 30 or more days, it will not show up in a search. Interesting though, with messages in your profile's message list, if a profile goes dormant for 30 days or more, you can click on that respective profile name in the top bar of your message with that profile and still see that profile. Doing so, allows you to see how many days that profile has been dormant.

Hotlvrs - You are correct that Paul had both SN and SZC, but as I recall it was not quite as simple as morphing one into the other. He told me the story once at a house party in Brandon we and they attended, but I don't recall the details.

Travelers-

If I recall correctly, SN was owned by Paul and his wife. They were forced to sell and restarted as SZC. So, SN didn’t actually cease to be, they just morphed into something else.

We joined here in 2010, but really did not use this site for probably 5 years or more as we were primarily active on the old swappernet site at that time. Out of the blue, SN suddenly ceased to exist. No notice, just gone. That is when we got active here.

I joined in 2006 as “nicatnight”, then transferred the lifetime membership to this profile in 2015.

JW why a search for my old profile yields no results but I can still log into the account.

Sorry to say, that is not possible to be on SLS in the late 90's. SLS was born in 2001.

According to the system we have been here since 2007.

That is wrong. I distinctly remember joining as a free member in the late 1990s.

I'm approaching 17 years here on SLS... Ten of those years, I spent in Forum Jail.

To answer age, time and why the chat room & forums on SLS used to be hopping and now are not, before social media became a 'thing,' chat rooms, forums and instant messaging were the way to communicate online. Now that there is social media, messaging applications, etc. With everything now available on a mobile device, people do not really take the time to log into websites to talk in chat rooms or have lengthy conversations in forums. In forums, you can not see video. In sophisticated websites that have chat rooms, you might have the ability to use video chatting. That however, is superseded by video calling programs like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. So, sadly, the SLS chat room may not be a happening place and the fora here on SLS may never ever pick up steam again, unless a massive undertaking is done to wrangle people in.

Sadly, we may never see again a/s/l.

VA's longevity post got me to wondering. We are approaching our 20th year on here.

Woodville, TX, Us

After the "big purge", the chat area lost its luster. Everyone is waiting for someone to start a convo/topic. Doesn't help that it's a clunky system either.

Windermere, FL, Us

We have been on this site for almost 18 years.

During that time, I have been in the chat room for perhaps 10 minutes. Cumulatively. And not even once in the last 15 years.

Just Wondering

If you believe the numbers there are thousands upon thousands of members on SLS. However when you get into chat, it drops often to a few hundred. So the question becomes.....are swingers mute?

Is it just me, or do there seem to be more couples/singles trying to use the forum for Hot Dates lately?
