Just wondering...
What ever happened to the song Harlem Shake? It was here for a hot minute and people had fun with it. Then, gone. Meh... It had its glory and died like every other one hit, flash in the pan song. But, the artist got his millions out of it!
JW - what is the relationship between galleries on profiles, default profile photos and photos sent through messages?
I was contacted yesterday by a fairly new profile (less than a month since created).
There is a default profile photo showing in my messages and if I find him in a search - plus there's a tiny "13" in the lower right corner.
He sent a photo among his messages.
But when I click on his profile - there are no galleries, no photos and the profile photo is a blue gumby.
Am I justifiably confused or is this residual effects of COVID brain fog causing me to miss something obvious?
"I am a task centered person, nor a time centered person."
--------
Likewise. It's also incumbent on management to recognize these varried work styles and manage accordingly. Unfortunately, that's not always the case.
Sounds like it is not a good fit for you.
Find something else.
I am a task centered person, nor a time centered person.
I am also salaried, so i don't get overtime.
Sometimes I work until midnight to get a task done. Some times I take the afternoon off because I am not feeling it.
Just wondering...
Is anyone here an 'honest' employee? What I refer to is, does anyone else follow an honest work ethic, run financials clean 'to the penny,' honest lunch break time, treat co-workers & customers equally and do 'the right thing?'
It is a shame that with evaluating everything, my job is no longer a fit for me, not for anything I am doing wrong. My ethics and integrity is higher than those I work with.
I will advise further when out of the negative situation.
My daughter is close to a foot taller than me and, while she trusts my good intentions, is smart enough to be cautious.
Please do the same and then you won't need to hide behind taller people. ;)
That's good to know. In case you were just wondering, Mrs. G is almost a foot taller than you and knows me well enough that I don't need a safe word when she's around.

"Intoxicated me might say something sober me painfully regrets."
I try to keep the pain to tolerable limits. ;)
"You might want to be careful about the wording with some of us."
I know, right? I've seen both your and Phoebert's wife's posts. Sober me wouldn't say to you what I just said to her.
Intoxicated me might say something sober me painfully regrets.

Getting out of the freezer and venturing into some heat has a certain appeal to it.
"Take me, I'm yours."
You'd have to leave the Great White North for that to happen. ;-)
Take me to your leader!

"I don't know what kind of fixture your garage has..."
They're like virtually every residential garage I've ever seen. With the exception of the lights in our electric OH garage door opener, they're the standard, exposed porcelain screw in bases that utilize a single, exposed light bulb. I've seen some garages with 4' fluorescent tube fixtures. Those tubes were exposed.
Come to Minnesota, we'll expose all of our fixtures for you- in every room. Just your presence in the same room should be enough to turn them on.
JW What kind of garage light fixture is only rated for a 60 watt incandescent bulb."
Ray Charles has one in his garage.
"JW What kind of garage light fixture is only rated for a 60 watt incandescent bulb."
Two; it's rated for two 60W bulbs. And I don't know what kind of fixture your garage has, but this one is pretty close to the one in my grandparents' kitchen, in a house they bought new in 1926. Round, silver ring at the ceiling, glass cover that is white on the vertical and clear on the horizontal plane, all the glass with some detailing.
"As you are undoutedly aware, LEDs have allowed us ..."
My only knowledge of LED lighting comes from the frustration induced by the US phasing out incandescent bulbs before LED was widely available for the consumer market, leaving us for a few years with the ecological and light spectrum disaster that is fluorescent lighting.
"Veritassium has a terrific video on the quest for a blue LED, the (lack of) invention of which delayed the introduction of white LED lighting for decades, and the story of the tenacity of the mostly one person who eventually made it happen."
I am one of today's lucky 10,000 and that was all new to me. You're right, it's a terrific video.
Goodenuf - "JW What kind of garage light fixture is only rated for a 60 watt incandescent bulb."
A lot of the light fixtures in ceiling fans are set up for even less on paper, and they have a limiting module built in, in order to conserve power. Same bulb sockets and wiring as anything else. The limiting module is usually the first thing to crap out, and you get flashing lights. Really annoying, at least until you remove the module
Meh... Sarcasm or orgasm. Either way, I'm happy. :-D
OK. Two cases of needing a sarcasm font ;-)
I think this is another case of needing a sarcasm font ;-)
Yeah - it was sarcasm right back at him as well. ;-)
I know better than to take him seriously!
"Silly man - that's kind of the point of "daylight" bulbs!" - I think this is another case of needing a sarcasm font ;-)
"...It's like daytime in there now..."
Silly man - that's kind of the point of "daylight" bulbs!
I got used to those bulbs when I worked for a commercial printer - 5000K bulbs are used in areas where the color of a project is checked. It was just easier to use them throughout the offices rather than fuss at whoever used the wrong bulbs in different rooms. Plus employees could look at a project anywhere and decide if it looked like it should - they didn't have to go to a designated spot.
I changed the twelve100 watt soft white incandescent bulbs in my garage at the cabin to twelve 100 watt equivalent daylight LED bulbs. Those 12 LEDs use less power than 3 of the incandescent bulbs and the space is far brighter/easier to work in than with the incandescent bulbs. It's like daytime in there now.
