BlackLeatherMan,

First, you say, "Last night Padron anniversary, Mexican wrapper, (superb!) with Yuengling lager and Makers." Then you follow that with, "Best Deal last night ....4 pack of Quesada cigars for $20! Two Reserva's, a 40th anniversary and a 70. Complete with Boveda humidity controled pouch."

I've got to know where you hang out! I am soooo jealous.

I'm not religious about it. I like the Dodgers too and any team that win's the Series. It's all good. I bought a Orioles vintage looking t-shirt last year at their stadium last year. Great shirt.

Napa Valley...great place to be!

He refreshed my memory and vaguely remember them now. That handmade cigar was kinda sweet tasting as he recalled it.

Last night Padron anniversary, Mexican wrapper, (superb!) with Yuengling lager and Makers..coupled with Yankees win in 10 innings. :-)

I miss those Cigar aficionado Big Smokes!...and the Wine spectator's NY and Ca Wine Experiences, where spitting is acceptable...

I'm hitting a cigar joint tonight with a buddy that I went with. I'll ask if he remembers. I know I got their cigar. I got all the cigars!

I'm pretty sure that was the year I took a pic with Rocky Patel. It really was good then. Started to go downhill..Top shelf cigars, tequila, rum, bourbon..food wasnt bad. Strip joint across the street. I still have a lot of those cigars in my humidor.

IIRC, it was the 2013 Smokeout. The sticks were being handed out during the La Gloria hand rolling event Aaah, those were the days!.

Interesting under the palm trees in our back yard i was kicking back in the shade drinking a beer and smoking a stogie. got a phone call and put the cigar down. came back and within an hour that cigar was completely dried out. Still smoked good with a different flavor, more concentrated but still good.

"Cigar Aficionado Smoke Out a few years back in New York."

Ha! I don't remember any cigars rolled on the thighs of 16 year old virgins. Been to all them except the last one they had here.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I went to a Cigar Aficionado Smoke Out a few years back in New York. They handed out hand made cigars, as the host announced, "lovingly rolled on the thighs of sixteen year old virgins." When I commented how good they tasted, I was treated to a punch in the arm from my wife! Haven't had any hand made cigars since.

Yes, welcome to forum Tom.

It takes all kinds to make this wonderful world.

Any favorite sticks you'd like to mention? My usual go to's are Hoyo De Monterey Excalibers. I also like the Drew Estate Undercrown.

A drinker at my cigar bar bought me a Johnnie Walker Blue ( I never would have paid for it myself ). In all honesty, it was so mild, it tasted like water. I'll stick to my Single Barrel Jack Daniels.

We have only tried one cigar. It was hand rolled at a conference I was at by a guy that 'studied' in Cuba for about 12 years. Can't really say it was bad or good, but it did go well with the scotch. We do enjoy single malt scotch, and have several on hand. It was probably Lagavulen (sp?), 18 year. Or it may have been 12 year Abalor (sp?). It was great fun sitting on the porch, good scotch, trying an hand rolled c8gar, enjoying being nude while the sun set.

Welcome to the fora Tom!

"Funny to a discussion about scotch and cigars in this venue"

Well can't always be fucking can we ...

I have tried many scotchs and cigars over the years and like many scotchs but Macallan 12 is my favorite, Balvenie, Dalwinie, and Johnny Walker are also quite good. Johnny Walker Black is my every day scotch. Enjoying my scotch and cigar now. Funny to a discussion about scotch and cigars in this venue, enjoy life!

Nice smoke!!

I have had Glenfiddich and yes very tasty. I don't know why I prefer whiskey over scotch because I have found scotch tastes better.

Alpharetta, GA

Surprise, surprise...

I was hunting through my humidor yesterday, just messing around, and I happened up on an Opus X that I didn't even know that I still had. ;^D

Macallan 12 is good. But have you tried Glenfiddich? Tasty Tasty. Especially, with a Flor Dominica stick.

Rutherford, NJ, Us

Ah! I've had great scotch but it was so good I don't remember the names of it.

that should be Macallan 12 which is a single malt scotch

Don't know what "Macaiian 12" is but great cigar!

You know I don't know. The place I go to smoke carries Perdomo and I'll take a look. You may also want to try a Fuente 858.

I like Black Label and really haven't noticed any taste change since they lowered it.

I just had an Alec Bradley Prensado with some Landshark and Makers 46. Superb!

BlackLeatherMan,

I have been drinking Jack since I was nineteen. When they switched to 86 proof on Black Label, was when I turned to Single Barrel. I only drink when I have a cigar and that's always at a bar. My condo association does not allow smoking anywhere, even in my own unit! I find that offensive, but majority rules here. I'm looking to move :) Recently tried some Jefferson's Ocean Mist whiskey. OK, but it's still not in the class of Single Barrel.
Are the Perdomo Squared Black Prince's still available? I have not been able to find any in my area of the country ( just Outside Boston, Ma ). Now, when I have the urge for a triple maduro, I am stuck with Camacho's. Good, but not great.

Be Well!

Dear Lady_N_Tramp,
Glad to hear that you were ABLE to get unfamiliar with Jack and his tasty family. Congrats!!
Here is another blast from the past. I ran into a cigar bar with H. Upmman's. I had a Churchill. It was a bit on the small size for a true Churchill. It was about 6" at a 46 ring. However, it smoked like a dream. I'm hoping to finding some more.

Be Well!
