I've tried to start this podcast like six times, and you keep i'm just a happy girl what can i say you only had how many you just opened that beer i know maybe i'm like like my blood sugar is low i just finished a long run well we're gonna i'm gonna put all those outtakes at the very end of the podcast well i'm mrs jones and we want to welcome you to episode 40 of the We Got a Thing podcast. Okay, now you're engaged. You know what my problem is? I'm just giddy because we're talking about clothing optional resorts and desire in particular today.

Yes, and we're going to talk about the myths around that. Because if we can get you beyond the myths, that means that you all might travel there with us one time or just travel there on your own yeah i mean the bottom line is just go yeah obviously we're still kind of on a on a desire high yeah we just got back yeah a couple weeks ago and it's how many days till we go again 60 60 days yes i would say but who's counting? But seriously, I've been counting for like, um, 365 days. Yeah. Yeah.

So what we're going to do this episode is rather than bore you with a chronological story of what we did at Pearl, we're going to weave in some events that happened during our vacation along with these myths that we had and other people have about going to a clothing optional resort. Right, right. And, you know, we're going to talk about not just desire pearl, but, you know, any type of lifestyle vacation where, you know, you're in a clothing optional situation and some of the fears that you may have going into that type of environment for the first time.

And basically, we're just telling you, just go. Yeah. Yeah, it's going to be fun. Yeah, so keeping up with the Joneses is mostly, we haven't done much because we were at Desire. No, no, ever since we recorded last, I think that's the only thing we did except for yesterday yeah we did meet some new friends at a winery near us yeah and had a fun afternoon of conversation i don't know how three hours goes by so fast yeah it's ridiculous well that's what happens at desire all of a sudden it's 4 a.m yeah and then all of a sudden it's 4 a.m. Yeah. And then all of a sudden, it's 7 a.m. I know.

Yeah, that's true. So, yeah, we've had, like, last weekend was Labor Day weekend, and we had a really fun family weekend. We did, like, two or three different family events throughout the weekend, and that was good to catch up with everybody. I started texting our family going, where's family dinner this week? miss everybody. Cause it had seemed like it had been so long since we had connected with our family. So that was good. Yeah.

So the main, the main thing on the kind of the keeping up with us and the business side of it is that part of the reason we went to desire in August was to do some advanced planning for November. Right.

It was a a business trip that's the best business trip i've ever been on what about you well we ended up having we were there eight days and i think we had seven seven meetings yeah so and on on different days yeah yeah so we should be covered on that and you actually had to work two of the days like your job just a few hours yeah yeah so yeah we were we were busy yeah so we met for those of you going with us in november um we did in 60 more days in 60 days and for those of you who are going to go with us next year um we met with the general manager we met with the entertainment director we met with the customer service manager, the butlers, the entertainment staff.

The premier people. Yeah. Pretty much everybody knows that we're coming now and that we're bringing you with us. Yes. And they're very excited. They have some good ideas. You all had some good ideas, and we brought those to the staff at Desire, and, oh yeah, we can make that happen. So, um, I think they're going to make it very easy for us to have a good time as a group. Yeah. Um, but you know, one of the things that I've been really focused on is yes, we want to do some fun stuff with you guys and make it special for our group.

But at the same time, a lot of you are going with us for the first time and we want you to have a, an authentic desire experience. So we're not going to over plan because part of the beauty of desire is just relaxing and taking it all in and having time to talk to people. You know, we don't want to keep ringing a bell saying, now it's time to do this.

And's time to do that we just want to have you know opportunities for people to connect so that's what they're helping us do um so stay tuned for the details we're kind of putting a schedule together and then they're going to approve it and make some suggestions yeah and and then we'll start getting it out in a more formal way to everybody yeah and check your email too if you're're going with us in November because we sent a pretty important message out this past week and only 75% of you have opened it. So check your spam filters. Mr. Jones, a.k.a.

Big Brother, gets a little bit of analytics on our new email system. Yeah, and if you didn't get the chance to go with us this November, many of you are on the waiting list. Many of you have said you would like to go, but that's not a good time of year. So we're looking ahead to 2018, and we are probably going to do two or three trips next year. Yeah, I think we're pretty much set on doing the November trip again next year for sure. And then Mr.

Jones and I want to try to do one maybe early summer because we think that might be a good time for for people with kids you know maybe like send your kid to camp and then hop on an airplane yeah right you know so we we might try to do one kind of at the beginning of the summer as soon as the kids get out of school um to make it easier for those of you in And then Mr. Jones and I, um, none of this is set in stone yet, but we really want to go on the desire cruise in April. Um, desire is doing their first cruise in a couple of weeks at the end of September. And it's an Adriatic sea cruise.

The one in April is a Mediterranean cruise. I think it leaves out of Barcelona and then it finishes up in Rome. And it's on a ship that only holds 350 couples. And I think, you know, if you listen to our podcast, you know that Mr. Jones and I aren't big fans of large crowds.

And, you know, we like a a more intimate setting and 350 couples is still a lot of people but i think um just for at least our first lifestyle cruise i think we're looking forward to that smaller ship and that smaller setting where you know you can see the same people over and over again and you don't always get lost in the crowd yes over the next month we're going to be working out the details and the dates there and then we'll put something on our website where you can express an interest to um go on any of those trips because we would love for you to go with us one of the meetings that we had um when we were at desire was working with um the people that we actually have a relationship with that helps us put our affiliate program together where if you click on the banner on our website then you're booking through us and then we know you're coming and i think they have some ideas to make that an easier process and a more advantageous process for you know you as our listeners that are actually booking the trip and then make it easier for mr jones and i to track everything and and forire as well because they'll have a better way to track the sides of our group.

I think what you're trying to say also is that they're going to put some special arrangements in place for us, for our group. Right. Yeah. So we'll obviously fill you in on that. And because of all of this, I know that Nadia in New is in july and we're not completely sure if we're going to go this year and we just say that now because if you're booking uh early and you and because we're going to be there um you might want to wait but go ahead and book if you're going to go to if you're going to go we you know if you're thinking about it we highly recommend it it is a good time yeah but. Right.

Yeah. You know, because we just have a lot of other things coming up in the pipeline, and we've got to fit everything in and keep it balanced. And speaking of other big things, this is really exciting, but we can't tell you the details yet. Yeah. Mrs. Jones and I have been working the past, I don't know, a few weeks.

Yeah, it's a couple weeks now on a very big we got a thing a new project yeah and we are excited about it and it's not developed enough to get to give you details but um we can tell you that a lot of the free time that we've had as we've been trying to grow our businesses um we haven't been just sitting around so we decided to tackle a big project with we got a thing we're going to be offering something that i think is pretty exciting and it's not replacing anything our podcast is going to be exactly the way it's always been and our newsletter is you know set in place now so this is something in addition to what we already do so yeah and as far as we can tell nobody's done anything like this before and we're really excited about it and mrs jones is working her pretty little tail off on this project yeah i've been told that i get bitchy sometimes when i get really focused yeah you do have a professional bitch face yeah so again you know mr jones and i can swing together but you know as far as working together we're we're learning yeah we're learning to communicate in that way as well yeah so anyway we're really excited about it and we and we hope you will be too and and we'll probably be able to say more about that next month yeah it's really coming together yeah and speaking of next month we are going to throw in a bonus podcast here in a few weeks but we'll we'll tell you more about that we're probably going to throw a podcast out every three weeks for the next three episodes so at times with our availability and our trip to desire yeah so be be aware of that um so anyway though any anything else on keeping up with the joneses before we move the urinal voting has closed.

Well, no. Enough said. I don't know that it's closed. Well. It's pretty tight. Mr. Jones thinks that the votes are pretty tight, but the answer is no. Well. If you don't know what we're talking about, you need to listen to 39. But I'm still lobbying for the urinal in my bathroom. I've had men say no urinal. I almost took a picture of one. We were, we were somewhere not too long ago and it was a, it was the waterless one. And it was a, it was a really, really teardrop shaped. It was, you know, you could get it in a different color if that's going to really help.

I don't even know what a urinal looks like. Oh, okay. Well, I'll send you some shots. I'll do some shopping. Obviously I follow I'll see you some shots i'll do some shopping obviously i follow the rules and i don't go in the men's room when i have to go really bad i just wait for the ladies room yeah so anyway that that keeps you up to date on everything that that um is going on with us and of course you can keep up with us our newsletter. Shamborce and red wine. Yeah, we're day drinking. This is an afternoon. We actually have family dinner in like three hours. So we've got to get this over with. I don't know how you drink beer. I'd rather be drinking a beer, but I have a belching problem when I drink beer, and it doesn't go well with podcasting. I don't know how you can drink a beer and not belch.

You've got to edit too much when you drink a beer. I do. Yeah, I don't know. It goes down fine. So Mr. Jones is drinking red wine from a local winery that just got put up for sale. So we missed our opportunity. We opened our two businesses before this winery came up for sale because we could have just gone all in and run a winery. I have no interest in that.

From people that we know that have done that it's not a it's not a lucrative i know business i think it would be fun though yeah maybe you and your next husband can do that no i'm not breaking in another one honey you're stuck with me all right all right so anyway the myths around clothing optional resorts well first of all i think we need to kind of start at the beginning you know what is a clothing optional resort because i think um sometimes if you haven't been and you haven't ever really researched it you might not understand that there's a difference between like a nudist resort and a clothing optional resort so like a nudist resort and there's some of those in mexico i know there's one um um I don't know there's a difference between like a nudist resort and a clothing optional resort so like a nudist resort and there's some of those in mexico i know there's one um called club orient and it's right on orient beach in saint martin where the you know the cruise ships drop you off and those types of resorts you have to be nude all the time like no matter where you are on the resort so you you know You eat dinner nude you're yeah and they're targeted more towards naturalists people that just want to be nude as opposed to a lifestyle right right it's just more of a way of life instead of a sexy environment right so you have those types of resorts um then you have like um temptation resort temptation resort is owned by the same parent company that owns both desire resorts and it is strictly a topless environment for the ladies the men have to wear swim trunks the ladies have to wear swimsuit bottoms and then everything else is normal you know you wear clothes to dinner and and all that stuff so you have those types of resorts and you know that tends to be more of just you know like a party atmosphere because those are not couples only right um then what do we have then we have some places that you can go and be naked um like caliente and club freedom makers and sea mountain in california and they They're in the U u.s and you can go there and be you know naked for a period of time but they're not really all-inclusive resorts right you know that you that you find outside the u.s so you're responsible for you know your food and you know all the other expenses that go along with that.

And then finally, you have desire. Right. And then you have Hedo as well. And Hedo is very similar to desire, except Hedo is not couples only. Yeah, so what we're focusing on, because our experience is with desire, we've been to both Rev. Jeremiah and Pearl. desire is is an adults-only, couples-only, heterosexual couples-only, clothing-optional, all-inclusive resort. Right. So that's specifically what we're talking about. That was a mouthful. I know. I think I got all that right. Yes.

And really, you know, we've been to Desire RM once, and we we've been to Pearl, I think seven times now, and really everything we're speaking to today applies equally to both resorts. Um, you, they, they're set up exactly the same as far as the, like the daily routine and the amenities and, and just like that, that groundhog day sensation you get where you just wake up in the morning and you go to the beach and then you go to the pool and you play some volleyball and all that. So both resorts function the exact same way. Yep. So myth number one. You have to be naked. Is that true?

Well, that's why they say optional. Ah, the name means something. Well, there's implied and there's literal. So even I think a lot of people think that, well, yeah, it says optional. But when I get there, if I decide to leave my clothes on, am I going to be the only one? Right, that there's going to be peer pressure and that people are going to stare in point. Yeah, or am I going to be ostracized for keeping my clothes on? Right.

And so the answer to that is it's completely optional right and there's no judgment right i mean there are i don't know like if you had to give a percentage maybe 10 to 20 percent of the people leave their swimsuits on yeah and to be perfectly honest it's more the guys than it is the women yeah yeah well a lot of ladies wear bottoms yeah just about all the ladies take their tops off yes um but you guys kind of have it rough either your swim trunks are on or they're yeah but back to the ladies wearing bottoms the bottoms you wear are not really considered bottoms no it's There's a string a string that goes up your ass and then you have these little triangle shaped things in the front and then you lay them out on the bed and you like every day i have to pick one and well they're all different colors i know but they're all the same anyway there's not a lot of material there no and i don't wear it all the time like i usually wear that little bit of nothing during the day i mean it's like it's called a little micro thong okay um but then like in the afternoon with the hot tub i might take it off and then when we come back to the hot tub after the disco we just like strip off all of our clothes and chuck them in a cubby and yeah and hop in naked so it's not like i won't take my bottoms off i just kind of think I think I look pretty sexy with that little thing on yeah I don't know you do I it I guess it makes me feel more confident and that's what it's all about yeah so well you still have the whole ensemble going on you got your your toenails painted one color you got your fingernails painted a different color you got your necklace on you got the little the crystals in front in your cleavage and then you've got uh earrings and earrings and your hat and your sunglasses so even with no clothes women can have all this stuff they have to worry about but i'm supposedly naked yeah but i'm well put together naked yeah so I think that we've been down there at times with people that have not taken your clothes off.

So as a matter of fact, this time there was a younger gentleman who was there with his wife for the first time, and he left his shorts on for almost the whole trip. And I think the last night that they were there. It was a happy hour at the hot tub. Yeah. He had his swim trunks on all day in the pool. And then I don't know what made it his decide. But he walked over to the hot tub at about 5 o'clock and just dropped his drawers. Everybody started cheering. It was like everybody's doing the wave at a big sports event. Yeah.

Now, you have to keep in mind this was the last day and so we all knew him really well and the people that were laughing and cheering knew him right we've been hanging out all week so he wasn't shamed into any and we weren't laughing at him he he was he was a good sport yeah he was a good sport about it he was taking it in stride and he knew that was that was going to come but but really if he would have left them on you know it was no big deal. Right. And I know that this sounds a little bit crazy.

But when people don't have clothes on, you're imagining that, you know, that people are going to stare at you because you don't have clothes on. But really, you see the whole person. Right. And so after a few hours of it, it feels more normal.

And you just see people for see people for people right so yes number one myth is it's clothing is optional and yes you can either take your clothes off or not and you'll have a good time yep okay myth number two everyone is young and beautiful well not everyone we were there yeah we're not young you're beautiful well thank you no we're not one of the things that we mentioned to i think it was the day that we met with the social media manager oh right we had breakfast with the girl that takes care of all their social media and we said hey you know what we get a lot of feedback from people who you know go and when you go to the desired website you see a lot of young sexy perfect unblemished bodies and then you know that's a visually appealing there's no doubt to that but then there's also this thought of well i wouldn't fit in there if that's what everybody looks like at that place so the feedback that we gave them was that we don't know what the solution is other than to put maybe some more normal-looking models on your website.

But in a way, it's keeping people away from coming because of this idea that I have to look like that. If that's who's there, then I'm not going to fit in. Right. Well, maybe in six months I can lose that extra 10 pounds and then I can look like that lady does. It's not going to happen. Right. And it doesn't need to happen. That's really the point. It doesn't need to happen. Right. And wouldn't you say that the average age of the crowd there this August was between 45 and 48 or somewhere around in there? I would say, yeah. Yeah, that's probably about right.

Because there was a younger crowd that came in like midweek, and they were all in their 30s. But yeah, there were some older couples there. There were a couple of couples there older than us. Oh, yeah. Yeah, shoo. We weren't the ones. We met a couple from Puerto Rico who were celebrating 46 years married at Desire. Yep. And then there was another couple that we ran into when we checked in that we had met last year.

They checked in the same time we did,'ve been married probably 10 years more than we have yeah that was so funny we we pulled up in our transportation and they all floated our luggage and they ushered us in and you know we got the cold towel and the glass of champagne and then like literally like two minutes later this other couple comes in and they sit next to us at the reception desk and we look over and I'm like, they look really familiar. And I could tell they were looking at us too. And we ended up finishing our registration at the same time.

And we were both, all four of us were walking down to the pool area. We were like, you look familiar. And they're like, you do too.

And then as soon as we all said our names, we're like, oh my gosh, we were here last year year right and and we literally walked in at the same time yeah and even if there are people that are a lot younger than you there that crowd that you mentioned that came in we had a great time with them oh yeah yeah it's not like that just because they're younger they're not going to talk to you if you're older right we were on the older side yeah of the crowd and we got to know a lot of them and had a great time with them as you'll hear in a little bit yeah for sure yeah so that's myth number two not everyone is young and beautiful right okay myth number three everyone is skinny yeah that is not.

You know, again, look at the desire website and let the website show you the facility and the vibe.

And don't let the models on the website create an expectation because that isn't what you're going to see when you get there yes you're going to see all like we said all ages and and all body types yes and it's not a big deal it's just it's just like being anywhere else and when you're with a group of people yeah you kind of just take it all in stride and it's the personalities that are um the the magnetic part of it they just draw you to people there were a few women there that week that that i that i just think were absolutely beautiful because they were comfortable in their own skin and they just owned it yeah and one was the the young lady that won the miss desireire contest yes and I think there were five or six ladies you know that was the night that you it was the costume or the uniform night right sexy uniform night and she was dressed up as a cop yeah and she's not a small girl she's really tall and she's got lots of curves yeah and you would not call her skinny but you would call she was beautiful because she owned it and she got out there and she was confident and she was having a good time and her competitors were smaller than she was and thinner than she was but she won because she was just i mean she just owned who she was and if you're, that's what you can do, no matter what, how big or small or whatever you are.

That was a rough contest because out of the six ladies, we knew four of them. So how do you, how do you cheer for four people at once? Yeah. You know, that was, it was really fun because every lady had something to offer that night. And, you know, most of the ladies did not have perfect model bodies, but they were just having fun and they weren't taking it too seriously yes and that's what made it just so awesome yeah um so that's myth number three everyone is not skinny that's right yep myth number four you you have to take this one you're not not going to say it. No.

All ladies have boob jobs and tummy tucks. Well, not exactly. Yeah. You know, a lot of ladies have had babies and babies take a toll. It's a good thing they're worth it. It's a good thing babies are cute because they do a number on us. But, you know, that's just that's part of being a lady. And, you know, sometimes we get stuff fixed and sometimes we don't get it fixed. And, you know, it is what it is. Yeah, I mean, I've got stretch marks. And I guess I've just convinced myself that my two beautiful daughters wouldn't be here unless I had those stretch marks. Yeah.

So I just have to kind of own them. Well, and as a guy, I have to say that we do notice boobs. And we notice body parts, but we don't notice them as being flawed. We just notice them because we're gaga over them.

So whether they're big or small and you know you're gonna have an affinity for one or the other just because that's how we are but boobs are boobs but i guess it would be kind of boring if all of our boobs looked exactly alike yeah like if we all went to the same cosmetic surgeon and all got the same you know shape it's you know sat exactly the same way on our chest, it would be kind of boring, wouldn't it? I mean, we saw big boobs and little boobs and pierced boobs and painted boobs and real boobs and fake boobs. Oh, the lady with the painted boobs. Oh, she was really pretty.

Yeah, so you see all kinds of boobs. Big, small, fake, real. As a matter of fact one time we we saw reconstructed boobs a lady had just had a double mastectomy and a total reconstruction and she took her top off for the first time yeah that was really awesome yeah but you know the thing about boob jobs and tummy tucks is and you know this so weird, but I almost feel more comfortable during the day when I have nothing on, but my little like dental floss, micro bikini, G string, whatever. Um, then I do at night in some of my theme night outfits.

I know you go naked all day and then you put you put this dress on, and we're walking out of the room, and you're tugging it down. You say, it keeps riding up over my ass. I said, honey, you've been naked all day. So what if somebody sees the bottom of your ass? It's weird. And you know, like on a burlesque night, the ladies wear corsets. And so I usually just wear like little lace boy shorts and a corset. And that puts me completely out of my comfort zone to walk into the lobby and the nightclub dress like that. I don't know. Until you see the other ladies dressed like that. Yeah.

That certainly makes it bearable um but it's funny how putting provocative clothes on can be scarier than being naked and again that makes zero sense yeah but i just like seeing women you know i i think women are i mean it's just my personal preference but i think sexier in the evening when you do have that lingerie or that corset on as opposed to just being completely naked. When somebody is completely naked, I see them as a person. But when somebody, when a woman really puts these clothes on and dresses up, it accentuates the, you know, the feminine side of it. Right.

And I think it allows our personalities to come through a little bit. You know, you can kind of tell like some ladies are really classy and they wear beautiful dresses every night. And then some ladies are just like really fun in that and they go all out with the costumes. And so it's just really fun to see, you know, how people present themselves in the evening. So I think that's kind of what makes the theme nights fun. And I don't always like put as much into the theme nights as I could. No, I mean, some people do and some people don't.

But, you know, the main thing is that, you know, you'll get used to it because there are other people dressed that way. And then the shows that they have at night are very pretty much lined up with the themes as well. And the shows that we saw this trip were fantastic. You know, I think they're some of the best shows we've ever seen. They were just really well put together. The dancers are always good, but it seemed like they had more variety this year. And I think my favorite show was the night that the entertainment staff did the whole show.

You know, know, a lot of it was just like, they were not taking it too seriously. They were just kind of being fun and lighthearted and, and, um, just really, really fun. Okay. So that was number four. Yes. Myth number five, I guess I have to take this one. Yes, you do. Guys walk around with erections all day. First of all, I'm in my mid-50s. I can't walk around with an erection all day. So in other words, a little blue pill would not be your friend in this situation. No. No.

But I have to admit it crossed my mind before I went there because in my mind, I'm imagining all these beautiful people and all these naked women and that's all i'm going to be able to think about and but that's just not the case um after you get used to it um it doesn't it's not a very it's not that sort of environment yeah where it's constantly you know i don't really you that way i don't really think i've ever seen a guy walk around with an erection that's because we stay seated until it goes back away I don't know. I don't really think I've ever seen a guy walk around with an erection.

That's because we stay seated until it goes back away. Well, I was going to say, I suspect if you guys would get an erection, it'd probably be in the hot tub. And then you're waist deep in water anyway, so it's kind of hidden.

Well, I mean if you're if there's ladies there grabbing me and or bumping or rubbing up against me sure so and we're going to talk about this in a minute but like um there's jacuzzi beds around the jacuzzi duh and like during happy hour and then especially like at night after the disco um sometimes you'll see some pretty hot action or you'll even see some action on the side of the hot tub does that affect you i mean yeah when there's when there's a show going on and we're getting ahead of ourselves but you know if if it gets quiet and we and you say hey turn around look at that couple and we start watching and then i put my arm around you and then i start thinking that way then yeah but i'm in the hot tub so i just have to just i'm just doing a little investigative work here i just can't get out and go to the men's room until about 10 minutes later until things settle back down okay well that's good information and i can't go to the bar because i if i accidentally walk by another guy and it and it hits him i know oops excuse me i don't want to freak anybody out yeah but no that's that's not the case um at all so you guys don't have to worry about that and i don't think it it was an issue we would we would know we would have noticed if that occurs yeah really or you would have well i think it's pretty obvious if it happens for sure but it doesn't happen Okay, then're halfway almost halfway almost halfway myth number six people will be cliquish and we won't be able to make friends you know so that's a myth and i have to say every time we go we have a unique experience because the people are different every time we go.

You don't know what kind of crowd you're going to walk into when you get there. And I'm not going to lie. I'm a little bit nervous every time we go just because you don't know who's going to be there. And you and I don't ever travel with anybody. So we just kind of like go in blind. And you and I don't get in a lot of the, the forms or the kit groups real heavily. So we, we kind of do that intentionally. We just kind of want to go and experience it and meet people. So you could probably run into a group sometime that was fairly cliquish, but at the end of the day, it's up to you.

Yeah yeah you make a good point about the kick conversations ahead of time because that's where the perception can first start that there's this group of people and and a lot of them are communicating but i'm not i don't feel comfortable communicating so i'm i'm already putting myself on the outside now when you get there and i and i we have to turn this around and put it on the people who perceive that there is a click. Because if there are a group of people standing in a circle talking, physically you feel like there's a barrier there. Right. And you may think that that's a click.

But when you try to engage them in conversation and they open the circle to you or they turn to you and start conversing with you. They may not do that unless you go and introduce yourself. So it's a two way street. It really is. And you know, I, I used to be really, really awful at that and I'm actually getting a lot better. And my, my favorite place to do that is in the pool during the day, like around the pool bar. It's just so easy to, you know, you're standing there waiting for your drink.

And it's just so easy to turn to somebody and start talking, even if it's a group of like, you know, five or six people. People are just really open to conversation in the pool during the day. So a click in my mind would be somebody, there would be a group and they'd be standing in a circle and you'd go up to them and try to introduce yourself and nobody would acknowledge you or even open the circle to you. Right, and I honestly don't know that. That doesn't happen. Yeah, and if it does happen, it would just be that one small group of people. It wouldn't be the whole resort.

You know, so you do need to put yourself out there a little bit. But I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Yeah, so it's up to you. And you're going to see people that you have seen, well, not on your first trip, but we see people that we haven't seen before. And, you know, so it's easier the more that you go, you know, to kind of get used to that mindset. Yeah. We ran into, I think we tried to make a list and I think we ran into six couples, um, that we have known or met before. And I think like, you know, two or three of them, we knew we're going to be there.

And then the other ones, we were just like, Hey, hey i can't believe you guys are here again because we didn't even go the same week we went last year yeah and and we still ran into people yeah i mean one of the couples is from peru i know you know it it's just so awesome yeah and and the the another thing that you can do is to be proactive like we you know there's a thing that goes on at the pool in the afternoon that the entertainment staff does, and it's called Desire Time. And they do these funky little games.

And if you'll volunteer to get up there in front of people, it's amazing how afterwards somebody will come up to you and say, hey, I saw you guys up there doing the dart game, or I saw you guys up there doing the drink game. And that's a way to get out in front. And the, and the staff really appreciates, you know, when people get engaged into what's going on.

So stay standing off to the side and not being involved, like get involved in the volleyball, get involved in the basketball, get involved in the, in the games and the activities, and then you're naturally going to meet more people true and the and the staff um i don't know i the staff this year they were amazing yes um and i think all of them are staying at least through november they all work on contracts so they some of them kind of come and go but um we talked to all of them i think they're all going to be there in 60 days when we get to desire it in November.

And they were just so much fun. Yeah. The girls were sassy. So when Mr. Jones would tease him, they would give it right back to him. You don't mess with Kayla. No, I learned that, but I still mess with her. And then, uh, Mia is definitely quite the personality as well. Yes, she is.

Yeah, and then uh mia is definitely uh quite the personality yes she is yeah and then of course there's charlie and kia they've been there the longest but then there uh is your new boyfriend mike oh my gosh he's from columbia he's so cute and vince is back who is your original boy crush yes he's from mexico sorry you were really struggling that week yeah between the two of them i know i mean how do you pick and then and then there's a new guy Thank you.

Yeah, so they're all ready for us in November, by the way. Okay. And then as the evening goes on, like before dinner or before the shows in the lobby area is a good place to kind of break those clicks.

Or not break clicks, but just meet people. Right. Again, there's a bar setting and people are relaxed and casual. So if you haven been before um usually like about i think about nine o'clock they have uh some sort of either a dj or they'll have live music in the lobby um before the the show and the disco usually starts at like 10 30 and then and then that's when the disco opens it up after the show so before that like, you know, 9-ish, there's music in the lobby. Sometimes they'll do like a fashion show or something like that. And it's just a great place for people to meet and mingle.

And it's just a real social atmosphere. And then, of course, you can get your chocolate espresso martini at the lobby bar. Yes, you can.

So tasty after're there mingling with people and getting people engaged in the dancing or you know whatever's going on and that's their job and they're really really good and they dress up for the theme night so it's fun to see what they have on yeah so people are not cliquish myth number seven everyone will stare at me yeah you know and that goes back to that whole self-confidence thing you know like i'm gonna be naked and my body's not perfect and they're gonna be you know looking at me or you know i'm gonna have these like sexy costumes on and and people are gonna see parts of my body that i've never shown in public before and it just you know can make you feel like you're going to be on display but you got to remember everybody at the resort is in your shoes yeah and and you can be a little strategic about it too yeah because like when you're in the hot tub and you're noticed a couple on the jacuzzi bed and you look up and sometimes I'll go, ooh.

Yeah. Ooh, I got to remember not to do that angle if I get up there. Yeah, sometimes it's ooh. Especially if you're a guy. And then sometimes it's oh. If you're a guy and you have your rear end up in the air, that's not necessarily a good look.

So you might want to get a little bit of angle there turn to the side a little bit and if people are staring at you you want them staring at you for the right reasons and not not for the train wreck reasons like oh so it really doesn't matter guys you know how big or large small your body is it's just some angles or you know maybe be a little bit strategic about how you position yourselves yeah and you can close the curtains on the jacuzzi beds as well true you know, maybe be a little bit strategic about how you position yourself. Yeah.

You know, so we've already talked about the whole, you know, I'm not skinny enough or, you know, my boobs aren't firm enough or whatever. You know, so the whole staring at you about that. But then what if you and your spouse want to do a little bit of, you know, exhibitionism, you know, that's, it's really, um, a turn on to think about that, but then, you know, are you going to be brave enough to acknowledge that people are watching you? And that's what Mr. Jones was just referring to.

So you've got these, these six beds around the jacuzzi and you're allowed to play on them in the afternoon or the evening. And they do have the curtains that drop down, you know, they're the cabana beds and Thank you.

And I'm going to call you out on one of this, actually, this topic because one time before when we were there and we had sex in a sex fort, and when we got finished, there's a plunge pool room right behind us, and there was a couple there that you did not know were there.

And when we got you said oh my gosh have they been there the whole time i mean they were like maybe 20 30 feet from us and i said super i said yeah and i said what are you worried about they're probably over there like saying look at that couple that's pretty hot and then and then as soon as we had that conversation we turned around and looked up on a balcony and there there was a, oh no, a couple, there was a patio, the curtains were open and the lady was spread equal with her hands against the glass and her husband or partner was doing her from behind. And what did we do?

We sat there and looked. It was hot. Yeah. So you can't think that nobody wants to watch you and then you turn around and you get charged up by somebody by watching somebody else because when you see two people and you know especially if you there where couples are solid and you know they're just having sex together and it's just mesmerizing sometimes to to just watch right right yeah so if people are staring at, it's probably a good thing, you know, because you're putting off a, a sexy vibe and you know, you know who else I like to stare at?

I like to stare at, you know, every, you'll get the, the older couple that's there that had been married like for 50 years and you know, their bodies are not perfect anymore, but they'll get out on the dance floor and they'll cut a rug and, you know, and then there'll be, I know, well, they're old. Okay. Oh, gosh. And then they'll be walking down the sidewalk back to their, to their room and they'll be holding hands and, and you can just tell they're so connected. Yes. And, um, so you, you see that too.

And then that's just endearing and it's something to aspire to yeah well you know i hope in you know 20 years when we're not even 20 years in five in five years no no i'm saying that because two of our good friends that are coming in november were there with us in august oh right and they're about five years older and they just celebrated 40 years of marriage and they both look fantastic well yeah i mean they're not that older couple yeah they're still that hot it's inspirational right because you always want to know that there's people five years older than you doing this because you know the clock is ticking right and they're well i mean they're going strong so they're just hitting their stride yeah so yeah there's a hope for the future there is it's always good to see they're good role models for us yes okay so not everyone's going to stare at you and if it is, it's a hope for the future.

There is. It's always good to see all the couples. They're good role models for us. Yes. Okay, so not everyone's going to stare at you, and if it is, it's not a bad thing. Right. Myth number eight, everyone will be drunk and wild. Oh, my gosh. Well, a lot of us get drunk on the first day. Yeah. Yeah. Which is a mistake? Well, it's a combination. The first day you've traveled, you got up early in the morning, you had the stress of the airport and you get there and your room's not ready and you're flustered and you're unpacking and you're drinking and you're finally on vacation.

And you're like, woohoo, my kids aren't here and we're here and we have no clothes on. The combination of all that stuff. Yeah. Usually the first night is the toughest. Yeah. But most people are really good at moderation, at least at the desire resorts. Yeah. You know, you very rarely see somebody completely out of control with alcohol. Right. A lot of times people, when they are out of control, it's because they're uncomfortable. Right.

And like at like at temptation and some other places you we've experienced that before um but but really at desire and our personal philosophy is we really don't start drinking until around noon well maybe except for a bloody mary or mimosa yeah but then we do every other water every other drink with water yeah we're pretty good're pretty good about that. Yeah, so we don't really overindulge. And I don't know that any other people, every once in a while you'll see somebody that has to go back to the room, but it's not, they're the exception. Right.

So it's not like it's a drunken crowd in a wild crowd. No, I think everybody finds that. You know, I'm getting good after after being a few times now of finding that plateau where i'm nice and relaxed and you know i'm happy but i know i'm going to be able to power through i'm not going to end up crashing or getting a headache or well you know what else happens here that we haven't talked about before if you get get drunk, I'm out of the game. True. So what happens is there's a lot of self-policing. Yeah.

You know, there is one spouse that's keeping an eye on the other spouse because like one time a couple years ago, you did get drunk on tequila and we had to go back to the room and I was stuck in the room all night.

Right, and that was 6 o'clock i can't be a creeper single guy um so yeah you've got somebody watching you to make sure that that you don't get too far gone that you ruin the evening for everybody yeah so that happens yeah so i mean that and that's nice because you know that way there's there's more trust involved you know when you when you have a lot of drunk people around then you you know people are going to become more unpredictable yeah and and that isn't really the environment there right which is really nice right okay so not everyone will be drunk and wild we can cross that one off right myth number nine this is mine um the resort won't be clean and safe.

I am not a germaphobe, but I really like a clean resort. And, um, that resort is cleaner than my house. And then my house is not perfectly clean, but that resort is so clean. And there are people everywhere cleaning the bathroom, like the bathroom right outside the casual restaurant called Aphrodite is that it on the side of that building is where the restrooms are for like the pool and the hot tub. There is always somebody in there cleaning that bathroom. It's just amazingly clean.

And then you have security guards everywhere making sure that people don't come in off the beach to you know like vendors or just like curious people so you you constantly have people making sure that it's a safe environment and that it's a clean environment yeah and that's super impressive yes and and speaking of safe especially now oh yeah you know this year there's been a lot of media attention on the crime rate in cancun the murder rate in cancun and tainted alcohol in cancun or in mexico so while we were there in our meeting with the general manager of pearl we we specifically brought that up.

And he was thankful that we did because he went on about a 15-minute debriefing with us. Yeah, I mean, he was actually really interested in talking about it. He said, first of all, the crime rate in the Yucatan Peninsula is lower than the crime rate in like Detroit or Chicago, which is 20% of it. But yeah, the point he was making is like, look, yeah, there's been 133 murders here, but it's due to, you know, um, the drug crime Lords and, and tourists, the 30 something million tourists that come to Cancun every year, they haven't been affected.

But more specifically on the tainted alcohol, you know, he said, look, first of all, it's being misconstrued a bit in the media.

Secondly, he went on to say, you know, this is a multi, this is a hundred billion dollar industry in Cancun with all the major resorts down here and he said i take pride in desire resorts and if it's a it's a big company and we're we rely on return guests such as yourselves and he said if you think i'm going to risk our reputation um you know and risk the the revenue the business that we have and the safety of our safety of our guests to save five dollars on a bottle of alcohol you know that's just not going to happen here and then he told us that what normally what's going on is that unregulated yeah they they tainted alcohol that keeps coming up in the media he said that those kinds of incidents are happening at like independent bars in Cancun, or he said a lot of the, like especially like the beach bars in the towns, you know, they're not regulated and they'll get their alcohol from other like Central American countries.

I know, I think he mentioned Belize, but I don't know if it's just a problem in Belize, but he said they're getting the alcohol from other countries where it's cheaper, but the production isn't regulated in those countries. So they don't know the quality of the alcohol that they're bringing in.

And then the other thing that he stressed that we as guests need to be aware of is that he cannot control what the guests bring to the resort yeah he said in a lot of cases and he said it happens a lot more but we don't know about it because we're guests but you know people bring in drugs you know people bring in their own alcohol that they bought locally and not at desire but at other resorts as well and people go out into the city at night and then come back to the resort and they they could have gotten sick in the city so there's a lot of other factors that go into this and not only that on the food side you know they he was saying that desire gets um audited and inspected 18 to 20 times a month yeah Yeah.

They, they just have, you know, unannounced inspections come in and there, they inspect the, um, like the refrigeration units, the, uh, like the, the water that comes through the pipes for the rooms, they, uh, the drinking water, the ice machines, the pool water, the hot tub water, um, the prepared food, the unprepared food he said they they just are randomly inspected like almost daily yeah and and the um the um requirements that they are to meet are are higher um than in the united states because a lot lot of the European standards for food and beverage are higher than they are in the U S and they have to maintain those standards because so many people come over from Europe.

Yeah. So it was very interesting to hear, um, what really goes on there and what the perception is. But I mean, ultimately it's your decision. You're, you are leaving the U S and you're coming to another country. And obviously there's a bigger risk there than if you were going to go to stay in within the states well arguably the bigger risk there than if you were going to go to stay in within the States. Well, arguably, but what we're just trying to put some context to this idea that the resort's not going to be clean and the resort's not going to be safe.

And then the other thing about safety is that it's self policing with not only do all the husbands or all the men watch out for all the women, but even the women are looking out for the other women. Right, right. And it's amazing how safe you feel when you're there because of all of those things. I have never felt unsafe. No. And I hope it always stays that way, and I'm confident that it will. Right, even with wrapping a towel around yourself at three o'clock in the morning to waddle back to the lobby to get pizza.

As we were talking about what we were going to talk about today, I said, it's crazy to think that, you know, you have sex in the jacuzzi beds or in the playroom or in your room. And then, you know, at three o'clock in the morning, you morning you're like i'm hungry and literally naked wrap a beach towel around you and just trot down to the lobby and and eat pizza at 3 a.m you know and here you are in the middle of a foreign country with no clothes on yeah not a care in the world yeah so anyway i think we've beat that one to death. Myth number 10.

There will be wild sex going on everywhere I look. Unfortunately, no. Yeah, maybe that's not a bad thing. I know. Yeah. But no, it's not one big porn movie everywhere you turn your head. Yeah. And I'm thankful for that. It's a, you know, it's a very sensual environment. It's classy, it's elegant, but it's naughty. Yeah. I mean, isn't that why we go there? Yes. I mean, I can get classy and elegant anywhere if I'm willing to pay for it. But the naughty thrown into the classy and elegant is really what defines Desire Resorts, in my opinion. Right.

So, in other words, there's really two official places that you're allowed to have sex in public. One is in the playroom, which is off the disco.

And the other one is around the jacuzzi and the jacuzzi beds, you mentioned before and we don't really go into the playroom because it's really small at pearl so right so you know mr jones and i do go to pearl more than we go to desire rm but if i had one negative thing to say about pearl it would be that their playroom is too small it just it is not inviting yeah however the playroom at desire rm is amazing yeah it's a lot bigger yeah it's bigger and it it's Thank you.

it just it is not inviting yeah however the playroom at desire rm is amazing yeah it's a lot bigger yeah it's bigger and it it's um it's just set up for any type of well there's bad fantasy yeah there's beds in there and and there's like big spaces but you can take a big space and you can kind of like section off your own little area if you don't want to play with somebody else yeah that playroom is just perfect so at pearl mr jones and i have played in the playroom and actually we've never had a bad time in there so no not like we're knocking it um but we you we also like to take advantage of the jacuzzi beds we totally um remember that couple last year they went into the playroom and the guy waved me in and i told i grabbed you and we followed him in there i know and i didn't know that he had like giving you the head nod and i thought you were like totally overstepping at that point in time i didn't care how big the playroom was they were going in and i was following them and i was taking you with me and we had some we had a good time oh my goodness yeah so yeah we're not knocking it We're just saying it's a little bit they just reached out to us not too long ago yeah they did so hey there we haven't forgotten you now you're not allowed to have sex and allowed and legally and on the beach in the beds yeah and i kind of agree with that because it is a public beach they have a special special permit in order to do what they do, and it's a public beach.

And so I totally get that. But, I mean, sometimes at night you'll see a couple out on their balcony or like we saw with their drapes open and you can see into their room. Well, and our sex fort is not technically allowed either. Yes.

Although we have had security people walk by us and not tell us to stop yeah but that that's like late at night when it's dark oh yeah it's like one o'clock in the morning and and you can't see those beds from the beach right there's trees and little retaining walls and such right um so yeah that's technically a no-no but i don't think it's something that they're going to throw you out of the resort for. Yeah, and normally- But I'm not promoting it.

Normally though, wouldn't you say that normally when we have sex with just each other, we do it more publicly, but when we meet another couple and when I hook up, we go into a bedroom. We've done both, but I think our, yeah, lately it seems like when we play with others we tend to go back to a room like when we met this couple yes yes from out west yeah we made new friends from the northwest which is the only area of the country that we have not visited yeah we have got to rectify that we do yes and they a good motivator.

I almost consider them Canadians because they live in the state of Washington and that's pretty close. Well, wherever they're from, they are fun and sexy. Yeah, we enjoyed meeting them. Yes. And playing with them. Yeah. So, yeah, we ended up, we drug them back to our room, right? Yeah. I don't know. It was their room or our room. I don't remember. I think it was our room. I remember the important parts. And then there was another night where we ended up on a jacuzzi bed. But, yeah, that'll come into play in a minute. So, anyway.

And then we had another night in our room with our friends that we met last year. No, that wasn't our room. Oh, that was their room. Yeah, because we ordered, remember, we ordered room service pizza afterwards? Oh, I know. That was so much fun. Well, their room was right off the hot tub. And so we ordered room service. Well, we played. We played. So that's the important part. Let's not skip over that. No. We don't want to skip over that.

Yeah and there that was a soft swap play but it was a sexy that was like the craziest soft swap play yeah my goodness man yeah still make me sweat a little bit i know well we we had met them last year and and we had seen them since because they're not far from us right and we only had like two nights with them just one full day because they had really been the previous week yeah so we were we were kind of on the clock so we made the best of their last night yeah and uh so we finished playing with them i don't know it was probably like two when we were done i don't know what it was.

I was on desire time. Yeah, that's true. So yeah, they had a room with a patio. They were on the ground floor and you could literally, you could have thrown something at one of the bartenders and hit them.

So we ordered room service pizza at like two o'clock and then we went and got, and then she told the room service people to not knock on the door with the pizza to bring it around back and put it on the table on the patio so we were in the hot tub drinking after we had played and so we just stayed in the hot tub for like a half an hour and then there comes the guy with our pizza and we were like hey i mean put all that together you have good friends you go into the room you play you have a great time you come you order a pizza, you come out, you come out, you great time, you order pizza, you come out, you get in the hot tub, you have a drink, and then the guy brings your pizza onto the patio, you get back out and you eat pizza.

At three o'clock in the morning? It doesn't get any better than that. How could it get better than that? Yeah. Oh, that was so good. Yeah, so there's not wild sex going on everywhere no but um there was some you know this probably would be a good time to talk about there's a couple there um that they're there every week richard and lauren yes and they do these uh yoni massage and lingam massage classes. They're like four o'clock in the afternoon. And what they do is they pull the dance floor out of the disco and they fill the disco with mattresses on the floor.

And you come in as a couple and they have the soft music playing. It's kind of a tantric atmosphere. It's that mindset where you do a little bit of meditation first and just kind of let all the garbage flow out of your head. Well, the disco, first of all, the disco is not very big. No. And they've got velour curtains and soundproofing in there. And then you've got mattresses all over the floor.

And you've got music and you've got candles and i think they have like aromatherapy in there yeah it smelled good and it was just so peaceful so we did that yes and well okay we did one of them because they do the yoni massage on wednesday no yeah whatever um i'm not denying that it was fun but they do the yoni massage for the ladies on wednesday and we missed that i think i looked at the clock and it was 4 30 and it started at 4 so we missed that one because i couldn't keep an eye on the time and then but we did catch the lingam massage which is the massage for men on friday And I highly recommend keeping an eye on the clock.

Lingam is a fancy name for a hand job. Oh yeah. It was, you know, it was all about you. There was really, there was no reciprocity at all. That's not true. What? At the end, you hopped on top of me. Well, it was over then. So. No, over is when I'm done. It wasn't over that. So let me tell the story. You were just laying there in la la land. So anyway, that you do a little bit of meditation and then they, they do just a couple little exercises for the couple to connect.

And like the thing, this might sound silly, but like the one thing that I remember, and it almost made me cry because it was just so, it was so peaceful. And I felt so connected to you is at one point you were laying on the mattress and I was kind of kneeling over you and, and I had to put my hand on your heart and, and they just said to focus on the other person, you know, to feel your heartbeat and to focus on the other person.

And, truly like truly connected us that all the other stuff was gone and and it wasn't even about sex at that point for me it was just about you and me and they were that place was packed it was so crowded that um people were sharing mattresses and we were actually we had share a mattress with, we had to share a mattress with our Northwest friends because so many people came in and we were comfortable with them. Well, with all the foo-foo stuff you're talking about, here's the main point. We ended up having sex together. You hopped on top of me.

Okay, don don't let me finish let me finish everyone in the room for the most part was interacting that everyone was having sex for the most part with their partner with each other yeah so when we say that this myth about wild and crazy sex it was erotic it was sensual sensual. It was hot. And the smell in the room, the sounds in the room, the progression towards the sex act itself, um, as people were, that crescendo was building all at the same time and people next to you were having, you know, orgasms.

And I think there were probably what, two dozen couples in the room room and you were able to look around and watch people and see honestly i couldn't get my eyes open because i was so focused on what you were doing to me um but it was really hot it was and it was so when we think if somebody were to tell you that yeah a bunch of people went in there at four o'clock in the afternoon, they all had sex. That sounds like a wild, uncontrolled environment, but it was, it was not at all. It was really central. It was really like emotionally deep, but it was really hot.

So, and, and the other thing that I wanted to point out is that it was no pressure, um, because they ended the session mean you guys none of you had come yet but you guys were all like i'm sure very they ended the session too soon well no because they didn't want to put the pressure on people they did the exact right thing yeah um you know they said so you know the class is officially over um you all are welcome to stay you're welcome to go, you know, they said, so, you know, the class is officially over. Um, you all are welcome to stay.

You're welcome to go, you know, whatever you want to do as a couple, you know, just do what feels right to you at this point. And then they actually went out into the lobby. So there was no pressure, um, or you didn't feel like you were being observed. And I don't think anybody left. No. I think everybody pretty much just came. Oh, remember the one guy that all of a sudden it was real quiet and it was real slow. He started snoring. Then you start hearing. And everybody started laughing. And the wife punched the guy. Everybody can hear you snoring. He was a little bit too relaxed.

But that was at the beginning. That's when we were in the meditative stage. We hadn't really started massaging you guys yet. That was pretty funny. It did break the mood temporarily. But they did do a good job of getting us all back together and relax. So the spoiler alert from you all coming in November is we had a personal conversation with Richard and Lauren afterwards. And they are going to be there. Yes. In November. And they're going to do, not only are they going to do the two sessions that we just talked about, but they're open for private sessions too. Yeah, and they were a really, really nice couple. We talked to them afterwards. Yeah. Yeah, they're American. They said that they retired early and they moved to Mexico. Yeah. That's a pretty good gig. Yeah, so I'm not even sure what myth we were on because that was a pretty hot story. There will be wild sex going on everywhere we look. That was number 10. So number 11. Okay, myth number 11 is people will be sexually aggressive towards me. Right, and that's just not going to happen except for the one creepy guy.

It wouldn't be a trip to desire unless there was that one guy yeah you know and they're usually pretty harmless it's just kind of like a mosquito or a fly buzzing around um and like mr jones said earlier you know the it's somewhat self-policing so you know if a guy becomes too annoying or too um aggressive it's not just your partner that's going to be beating him off with a stick it's going to be everybody else's husband too so yeah see that worries me when you say that because there's a fine line between being charming and being a creeper this guy was creepy yeah i know there was nothing charming about him he was like sleazy creepy yeah i mean he was basically he it's like he had a planner out and he was penciling people in just assuming that we were gonna he made the comment like well we need to get together it was more of a statement than a question yeah we're gonna have to to have to get together.

There was no flirting. There was no nothing. I mean, he did tell me I had a really nice ass, and I appreciated that. He compared your ass to Mia's ass. I know. Mia has an amazing ass. She does. So that was a pretty good line, you have to admit. Yeah, but he probably told everybody there that their ass was as nice as Mia's. You don't need to know that.

I mean, but seriously yeah yeah this guy was a creeper yeah he was okay so he was like the old time professional swinger the the one sexual swinger not the social swinger and yeah but even more old school like larry lounge lizard yeah porn star mustache he didn't have a porn star mustache but it was that same like thing that made you not want to become a swinger to begin with because you thought everybody was going to be like that right he was that guy right so and he was there with you know his wife who was young enough to be his.

Well, I mean, before you go on, you know, the, so and he was there with you know his wife who was young enough to be his well i mean before you go on that's fine yeah that's fine if that's how they are but that's not our that's not our style um right yeah and and so you just need to be aware when getting back to our myth is sexually aggressive is a very subjective comment where somebody might not even think they're being sexually aggressive, but you perceive that they are. Right.

So the, just like click busting, there's some responsibility on you to, to either nip it in the bud or, practice how to handle that you know hey i'm flattered that you're interested we have other plans or hey we'll see you around maybe we'll talk to you later but there are ways that you can dismiss that and not get all bent out of shape about it or not let it bother you so much oh i didn't let it bother me no you didn't i'm just saying that You're making it sound like that this guy was really. Well, luckily he came at the end. Oh, I didn't let it bother me. No, you didn't.

I'm just saying that you're making it sound like that this guy was really. Well, luckily he came at the end of the week and we only had to put up with it for a couple of days. You had to put up with it, yeah. Yeah. I thought it was funny. Well, and his wife was beautiful, so I'm sure that didn't exactly hurt your eyeballs any. Well, we're not sure that that was his wife, but. Well, that's what I was going to say earlier and you cut me off, but yeah, I'm sure that didn't exactly hurt your eyeballs.

Normally you're not going to run into that, but if you do just be prepared as a couple, how you're going to respond to it and let it roll off your back. Right. People. And that, and that'll be the end of it. Right. Um, So anyway, that's number 11. Now we have one more. Myth number 12. It's not worth the money to go to a clothing optional resort. Desire's not cheap. No.

I mean, the bottom line is that there's no way you can sugarcoat that right um plane tickets are expensive the resort's expensive however you and i did a little bit of homework we did some research yes and it turns out that per night we so we made three different trips this year we went to naughty new orleans we went on a vanilla cruise and we went to desire right so what i did is i took the cost the total cost of each trip so like for the cruise we had airline tickets we had the cruise we had um an extra night in a hotel extra night in a hotel we had the drink package we had uh the specialty restaurants we went to and then the shore excursions when we get off the boat, whether we booked them through the ship or on our own.

So I took all that and I added it up and I divided by how many nights we were there. And I did the same thing for new Orleans and I did the same thing for, um, our desire trip that we just went on. And guess what was the cheapest vacation per night? I'm guessing you're going to say it's desire. Yeah. Like, yes, by far.

so here's the difference for desire it's we book an ocean view room ocean view room so it's the cheapest room right we book when we can get a deal so that's stay night three nights and get the fourth night free we have airfare we have transportation a shout out to usa transfers from they're the best and they're cheap and then we have the cost of the desire and maybe some money for tips but that's not right in the grand scheme of things you know sometimes we'll do a massage and like you can do a dinner on the pier which is amazing you can do dinner in the wine cellar.

You can, you know, do, there's upcharges for several things. You can go on the booze cruise, which I'd like to do someday if we had a group of people to go with. And so there's all different kinds of things you can do to spend extra money. But actually, when you and I went a couple weeks ago, we didn't spend any extra money. No, we didn't do any of that. No, our bill at checkout was zero. Yeah. And we got the cheapest room there. Yeah. Yep. And the cheapest room there, the ocean. First of all, all the rooms at Desire Pearl are ocean view rooms.

Now, if they're on the ground floor, you might have to look through some palm trees and like over retaining wall. But But you can always see the Caribbean from any room at the resort. And the room is pretty big. So here's the other thing about desire is that we're at this point in life where we are paying for experiences and not vacations. And maybe this sounds a little bit overdramatic, but desire pearl is where it all started for us. And the environment that's there is not recreated anywhere else, but I mean, RM and desire. So for us, we'll pay whatever we need to pay to go there.

If it's less frequently, or if it nights it's more important for us to have because we know this is consistent we've been there so many times the environment is sensual sexual it's unique and that's where we decide and that's what a lot of other people go you know we don't hear repeat people complaining about the price so much it's only if you haven't been right because once you get the value part of that value is this relationship that that we've that's better because of it it's it's the gateway into the lifestyle for us it's it's how we got into it it's but more importantly it's the people that we meet there and the staff and the staff and the connections that we make that you don't make at any other resort um because that we've been to vanilla resorts before and people don't talk to you you can be sitting right next to them and they don't talk to you and the staff is not nearly as friendly as it is right desire right i mean that like i said earlier that combination of classy, and naughty, that you just can't get that anywhere else.

And that, again, this applies to both Desire Resorts. You know, we just tend to gravitate to Pearl because, you know, again, the staff is a huge part of it. And we just, we've gotten to know the staff there. And, you know, we know every nook and cranny of that resort. Would I go back to RM? In a heartbeat. You know, it's not like I'm choosing one over the other for a specific reason. They both have their advantages and small disadvantages. Yeah.

And the only note of caution I would say, if you've been to Desire, RM, or Pearl once, when you go back, the trap that you can fall into is wanting this exact same vacation you had the last time right and like for example if you soft swap soft swap with a couple and you want to meet another couple on full swap you know that expectation is going to get you in trouble so well it's going to put pressure on you which is going to keep you from relaxing and just enjoying the moment so our vacationsations, we try to clean the slate.

And when we come into the lobby, and that's a lot of the reason we don't get involved in a lot of the kick groups ahead of time too, is because you can develop expectations and connections with people. I mean, it's good to know people and who's going to be there. Yeah.

But it can also, there's a line that you can cross that you're going to you know pre-determine what's going to happen there and then when you get there and the environment is different and you meet different people and you say gosh i wish i would have not done that or i wish i wouldn't have promised this or i wish this um so we try to not schedule anything we just try to go and when we walk through the door and get our mimosa and our band and we walk out into the, we let Pearl dictate or RM dictate to us what's the environment, who's here, what is this vacation like going to be for us, and we kind of go with the flow.

Right. Though I have one caveat. Why? I would be hypocritical since we went on C&D's podcast. Because I do have an expectation. You naughty boy. Don't you jinx it. I know. Don't you jinx it. I'm calling myself out on it. I'm calling myself out on it. That blog post that Dee wrote, don't jinx that. No, that was a pretty hot story. That fantasy, I'm really hoping it becomes a reality in some fashion. I hear that we might be getting version two of it pretty soon. Oh, my gosh. As soon as he goes back on his meds. I know. Yeah, he needs to get another cold. Yeah. He doesn't have to get sick.

He just has to start taking the medication. Come on, take one for the team, Dee. my goodness yeah that story so anyway I think that wraps up all of our myths yeah it does and I hope we're saying this so that we're alleviating some of your fears because I know some of you that are coming with us have a little bit of anxiety regarding, you know, something.

And then, you know, and then we know that there's some of you out there that have never been and you're probably on the fence for some reason, you know, be it the time involved or the cost or the self-confidence or just the environment in general. And I'd really like to steal Nike's slogan and just say, just do it. Yeah, just do it. I know. And so number one, we're looking forward to seeing you all in November. Number two, if you didn't get in in November, consider the cruise next April or one of the other two trips that we're going to make.

Or if those don't fit into your schedule, just go on your own. No, we want you to go when we go. Well, yeah, we do want you to go when we go. Right, because we want to meet you. Especially if we don't do Not in New Orleans. Yes. We want to meet you guys. Yeah. But anyway, the project that we're working on is going to give us hopefully the opportunity to travel some of these other cities to have some meet and greets that all these people have invited us to do. Yeah, that's true.

You know one thing I really, I did a long run today before we sat down to podcasts and I listened to Swinging Down Under again.

It's the second time I listened to it and they interviewed six couples that are coming with us in november oh my gosh i cannot wait to meet these people i know well actually we already know half of them we know half of them but the other three couples i mean sexy voices some of these people should do their own podcast yeah i mean seriously there's room for more yeah come on guys just a couple microphones and a and what a little what's that thing called a soundboard mixing board easy capizzi just do it yeah just so so just sexy fun people i cannot wait to meet you all yeah so hopefully this has helped um for those of you who have been considering lifestyle resorts and when we come back to wrap up episode 40 we've got a couple of sexy fun snapshots he says i can only do one you can only do one boo all right we'll be right back.

okay well welcome back to snapshots we really had to do a little bit of trimming here to get it down to one each. Yeah. No problem here. You go first. Yeah, I know you're ready. You go first. Every, a lot of people talk about the hot tub at desire and there are some sexy games and we've talked about the dumb card game and people have talked about the ping pong ball game, which I don't really, I'm not that comfortable with. Um, and there are other games that people have promoted I'll see that comfortable with. Um, and there are other games that people have promoted.

My snapshot has to do with the culmination of an end of a game that we played with a group of people that, the group that we described earlier, younger folks that came in halfway through the week and we got to know them and talk to them in the pool.

Anyway, we were the hot tub one night and one of the uh i'm not even gonna call her a lady because she's so petite then she's a girl one of the younger girls said she was a grown-up honey i know young yeah yeah very beautiful very energetic bubbly just a great personality and she said so nice you know you need people like this to get things going and she said let's play this game called suck and blow and many of you have heard of this before and she said they played it in their family all the time so it's really not even a sexy game out of context but she's bobbing around the hot tub recruiting people yeah so play this game so normally what you do is you take a deck of you take a card from a deck of cards and you put it across your lips and you inhale and keep it against your lips and then you turn to the person next to you and then you exhale and they inhale.

So it's almost like you're kissing the person, but the playing card's between your lips. Yeah, and you're passing the card around. And then you have to transfer the card. Yeah, and you don't want to drop the card.

Yeah, and you're not allowed to touch the card right well since we didn't have cards she was using her room room key her husband's room which is the thickness of it's like a credit card so it's a little bit heavier and thicker and hard to to manage so there were what like two does two dozen people at least 20 people and so we they're in the in the desire hot tub there is an island in the it's a bench, uh, it's a circle and there's a bench all the way around. And then on, and then there's a, um, a flat surface on top.

That's usually this, the flat surface on top is like two inches below the water line. The bench is such that you can sit there and about chest level for me, you're above water.

So we are all standing in a circle, boy, girl, boy, boy girl and doing this suck and blow game and so we were just playing around at first and then she really took control and she said okay now that everybody's got the hang of it we're gonna when when you go around once then the ladies are going to shift positions and you went one position down so you would be next to a different guy or a different girl every time right so you could do and even though it wasn't sexual you know we you were grabbing their shoulders and their neck and so but like as a as a short lady i was between like you and and that and this other guy who was taller than you so i was literally having to put my hands on your guys's and jump up on top of you you know and luckily we were in the water so i could do that so i could get my mouth up to your mouth to suck the card off right so yeah and of course we were all naked so that was kind of fun because i got to slide up yeah sexy gorgeous chest exactly so And after the ladies went all the way around the circle, she said, okay, now if you drop it, you're out.

And so it went around and people would drop it and they would back out. And it was kind of funny because if too many women dropped out, then there would be a guy next to a guy. And the guys would be like, whoa, we need some help here. So some of the women were going to have to hop from one spot to the other just to keep it going. We had to be the filler. Yeah. So we stayed in through that part. And then it finally got down to about maybe 10 of us. And then you had the car on your lips and you would have to run to get to the next person.

Yeah, but that's when we got up on our knees on the bench in that middle island so that we were close to each other again and so then the 10 of us or eight of us would started going and then people dropped out you know they would drop in and drop out anyway it ended up that it was only three of us left there was me and there was you and there was the girl that started the game this is her game right and we had a crowd of people around us and it was fun and then we all then the three of us got on the very top of the island and we were passing it around and then you dropped it right so you were out and it was just me and it was her and we kept going back and forth and back and forth and then finally somebody said okay you got to hold it for three seconds so then we were all counting so one two three and then you'd pass it back and then we went to five seconds passed it back and forth then we went to seven seconds and we were passing it back and forth and then we went to nine seconds and eventually you croaked i lost but my snapshot is that first of all it was a non-lifestyle crowd for the most part right they were a lot younger than us well we were with our sexy northwest friends but yeah they were there right that's true um everybody was having such a good time and we were laughing and connecting and for the rest the week, that game really kind of brought us together.

Yeah, for sure. So when we saw each other. So the point here that I'm trying to make is that snapshot is that the three of us, you know, on the top of that island and playing this silly game. Oh, you're such a rooster. I know. Well, I've been called an ass recently. Yeah, you were. Yeah. That's total tangent, but yeah. Yeah. Anyway, yeah, I was pretty proud of myself. You should be. Because I'm like, I'm the oldest guy here. And I think it was because of our running and our lung capacity. We were able to hold the card. But anyway, I ended up losing. And she won fair and square.

And square and she's the victor and we give her all the praise but the bottom line is that it you know it broke all the stereotypes it broke all of these myths that there are swingers there that their young people aren't going to get along with the old people i'm going to be intimidated that there's clicks everything that we've talked about was like shattered in this game that we played and we had so much fun and it connected us so my snapshot is just the well the three of us there on top of that island as the sole survivors of that of that silly game that we played so that's my snapshot you had to work a couple days you had to do some conference calls during the day a couple of the days so i was kind of hanging out by myself and and i didn't want to be the creepy single lady so i was pretty much most of the time just kind of in our little bed we had set up by the pool reading my kindle or whatever and then um the entertainment staff it was desire time and you were still upstairs and i was by myself so it was desire time and they were having trouble recruiting couples for one of the games that day so Mike one of the entertainment staff the one I might have a crush on came and got me and he said will you help me and I'm like well how can I say no to this so I went over there with him and I was his partner for this game called pole in the hole I thought you said it was like put the hole in put put the pole in the hole yeah so they gave so we stood facing each other about eight feet apart right on the edge of the pool and they gave me a roll of toilet paper to put between my legs but it wasn't like a roll of charmin that you have at home it's the industrial size toilet toilet paper that they have in the public restaurants.

Yeah. Like the 18 inch diameter toilet paper. So, and it was like a new one. So it wasn't even like worn down a little bit. So I had to wedge that between my inner thighs and stand facing him. And then they put a blindfold on him. I didn't have a blindfold on, but he had a blindfold on. And they took a broomstick and put it between his legs so it was facing forward. And he wasn't allowed to hold it or touch it. He just had to use his thighs to keep it up.

And then they started a timer and he had to come towards me and he had to get the broomstick to go in the center hole of the toilet paper so he had to put his pole in my hole yeah so that was rough we came in second oh so yeah we didn't do bad well you'll have to do that again. Yeah, it was pretty fun. When we go back. I know, and you didn't even get to watch. Okay, so let's wrap this up. Okay. If you can't tell, we had a good time. Yeah. And if you can't tell, we want you to have the same experience. Definitely. It would be well worth it if you did.
