We are currently visiting a new club for us called Chateau Vino on the Gold Coast. Yeah, we're up here today and thought it'd be nice to pop into a different club and have a look around. And we have a guest with us as well. Very special guest. Very special guest. VVIP? Yeah, very, very important person, yeah. Yeah, why not? Sure. We'd like to introduce you to Wayne.

Wayne's going to be our host this evening, and he's going to run us through a little bit about the club, a little bit about what to expect. Welcome, Wayne. Welcome to Shadow Vino. I hope you enjoy yourself, and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about the club. We're not going to lie. We've got a few questions for Wayne. We really want to, like I say, drill him because I think that's a little bit inappropriate in a club setting. Or is it? I don't know. Finger, Wayne. I'm just... Finger bang, Wayne. What are you, 12? So, yeah, we've got a number of questions that we want to run by you, Wayne. Sure, go ahead. Some of which, well, we'll make up on the fly because that's normally how we roll anyway. They know our style. Yeah. So, I'll let C kick off the first one. Okay, all right. Wayne, I mean, give us a run into the club, Wayne. Talk us through the layout, what to expect, you know, what happens when you walk in the front door.

Okay, well, Shadow Vino's been around for five years this year. It's our 50-year anniversary party in May. We were the first council-approved swingers club on the Gold Coast, and that's ever. There's been a few clubs here before, but they weren't council-approved and they've closed down for whatever reason. One of the things that we like about our club is that it's single level large and it's got good socialising areas. So when people turn up to the club, the very first thing that's going to happen is they're going to walk to the front desk, introduced to the hostess for the night.

She'll take details in regards to first. Is it always a lady?

lady generally yeah unless they don't turn up and Mick has to do it okay so yeah we've normally got you know a lady on the front desk and we'll take the first names of the couple if it's not if it's a couple coming along and put in the computer normally get their birthdays and that's about it we don't take any other details they then then get a tour michael and debbie the owners of the club will personally take each couple or single lady or if we have the limited single guys in the club they'll take them around give them a tour and answer any questions and i'll usually spend 20 30 minutes with them as well um the club has a large nightclub style dance floor and we have a dj booth and dj plays at the special events we've got a fully staffed bar all our staff are rsa approved outdoor area for the smokers probably one of the biggest outdoor areas of any club that we've ever seen yeah sorry you've got a pool table out there i mean i'm gonna i'm gonna go touch a few balls later yeah pool tables are very popular for breaking the ice so we've got one absolutely yep and then we've got playrooms, which are separate from the social area.

So people can come here. They don't have, you know, the playing or the sex in their face. Socialising is really important to us up here in Queensland. Well, it's the same with us. I mean, we consider ourselves, we've said this before, but we consider ourselves sociosexuals.

So without the the social sexy mind yeah i think i said before social intercourse before sexual intercourse yeah we love that term actually i like it yeah you can borrow that one trademarking that actually you should pay me money now every time you say that um i mean one of the things i noticed during the the two i mean we just went through through a tour. Yep, absolutely. And thank you for that. You're welcome. So you have a variation of rooms, you know, really exciting rooms, different rooms. I mean, talk to us about maybe some of your favourite rooms. Oh, boy. They're all favourite rooms.

Look, I'm a huge fan of the orgy room itself because I like a crowd. We've been seen long enough to puppy pile yeah you know to have to have done most things but um yeah i'm my wife and i are fairly drawn towards the orgy room if if you know the occasion takes but we've got um we got a red room uh with very low red lights and uh we've got open areas uh we got light bondage room which has got swings and a cross there to be tied up on. And what do you call that thing? Like a bench? Like a bondage bench thing that was in there? I'm going to call it a bondage bench. Let's call it a bondage bench.

Yeah, we've got that. Sounds like a bondage bench. And because we're on the Gold Coast, we have a room that has a nautical theme, because you have to have that have that beach theme. How could you not? Yeah. I totally agree. I think it's important. We're currently sitting, actually, in the Bali room. Yeah. I'll call it the Bali room. No, I think you can do that. Debbie and Michael are actually big fans of Bali. We've all actually been to Bali together and I'm pretty sure all this stuff came from one of the trips from Bali.

I mean, there's a lot of beautiful art with very, very attractive, sexy, posed women on the walls. I'm not going to lie. It's quite amazing. At that point. Stuff came from one of the trips from Bali. There is actually, there's some really, one of the things that see notice on the way through is there is some cool art on the walls here.

And it's, you know, tastefully sexy, I suppose, would be the best way to put it, which is good.

One of the rooms that i did like was the um the dark room which is the orgy room yeah the orgy room yeah yeah so i mean i understand that's just become a a dark yeah fully dark room we had uh we had soft red lights in there for a while but then people were literally saying can we have it completely dark and it kind of adds to the whole sexual excitement and when you do have a group of people in there, speaking from experience, you know, you don't know who you're touching and you've got to be very comfortable Wayne, are you telling me that you've had sex in this club before?

Is that what's happening to you? The funny thing The funny thing is we spend a lot of time at this club not having sex. We actually spend more time not having sex in this club. We've got some very good friends that come here. We love coming here to socialise as well. But, you know, if the occasion takes us, we'll grab a crowd and pile in the order room.

Well, that's one of the really big upsides, I suppose, to being here rather than the clubs where we commonly frequent in Sydney is that, you know, the land value here is significantly lower, which means you generally have a lot, you've got a lot more space. Yes. Absolutely. And you can charge lower entry free. Yeah, absolutely. Because you don't have the overheads that you'd normally be covering in somewhere like Sydney.

But yeah, we've been very impressed with the tour around um i'm sure c's got some other questions that she'd like to ask okay yeah sure i can ask the next one um so you talk about clubs and you talk about bringing people along what kind of events do you run here and what's successful i mean what are the the great events and then what you find And personally, I guess, sexy, entertaining.

Well, we have a theme party basically every two weeks so it's at least two a month um and interspersed amongst those we have what we call our play parties which i'll come to in a little while um the funny thing is my wife and i have a bigger cupboard of dress-up clothes than we have normal clothes and you'll find we have a few friends like that yeah i mean you're you're actually quite new at this trust me as time goes on you'll have more and more party clothes well we're getting to the point that a lot of our clothes well certainly a lot of yours actually the really funny thing for us is that we have um we have a couple um that we that we play with they're they're our play friends yeah but more recently it seems that every time we visit their place or our place we're trying on each other's clothes and each other's kind of costumes and we are seeming to give each other lingerie.

It's good but weird. Well, we've actually – you girls have traded. We've traded. Because she's smaller than you. And a lot of this stuff you may buy online or something like that. So it ends up, it ends up, yeah, it is. You guys have traded a lot of stuff and I'm well happy for that. You've got to wonder, these costume companies online, the percentage of the costumes they sell end up in swingers clubs. I would say it'd be fairly high, eventually. Anyway, but back to the answer about the events. We have theme nights, I say, every couple of weeks. We had one last week, which was a toga party.

A toga party is good at this time of year in Queensland because it's hot and you just throw a sheet on. And it's also quite easy. We find a lot of the men struggle with costumes. So we try and pick themes where the men can get involved too.

One of the things that I've constantly said is there's no male lingerie yeah well it's tough well no look there is there is but i don't look good in it yeah i think should i say there's no female lingerie every female that's ever put lingerie on they look good in it yeah i think that's well i'm gonna say 90 99 percent Yeah, I mean, you have latex and you have maybe mesh. What men do. Yeah. My mind keeps going back to fishing nets and catching fish. And I personally have tried those. No, let's not go there. No. Terrible. You might think it looks sexy, but we don't. So, yeah.

So the theme nights are very big. I mean, you mentioned before we started that the theme nights for you are probably your biggest nights. Yeah, absolutely. The weeks in between theme nights, generally, we have less people because people wait for the theme nights. On the theme nights, we also have prizes.

Like Adult Matchmaker will give uh vouchers for memberships and things like that and red hot pie will come to the party as well so that's a bonus for the theme nights uh we also have a full-time dj on the theme nights yeah so the dad's you know he can work the dance floor then um in between we have a good set of music going but it's not you know it's not quite the same vibe if the dance floor fills the next song might be really slow because it's not you know yeah it's not predicting what the crowd wants to see yeah okay but our biggest parties of the year are probably new year's yeah and our birthday parties and this year's our fifth year so the fifth year birthday will be a big one and when's the when's the fifth year and should we come up for that it'll be may yeah absolutely you'd be more than welcome yeah bring some friends bring some friends maybe be a big one.

And when's the fifth year and should we come up for that? It'll be May. Yeah, absolutely. You'll be more than welcome. Yeah. Bring some friends. No? Bring some friends. Maybe like a touring swingers to Queensland. Well, yeah. I mean, there's plenty to do on the Gold Coast besides just the swinging. Although, can I say, getting sunburnt the day before coming here, not the best option. Especially on a – how many nude beaches are here, actually? I don't know. No, the closest nude beach is Byron, actually north of Byron, called Tiagra. Wow, that's quite a while away.

So I suppose not many people getting burnt on their helmet then. Probably not. Not as many as I'm seeing. I have a really bad mental image now, thanks. Yeah, yeah. We'll do that for you. You can pay us later for that one. I mean, so, okay, what kind of advertising do you do? So, I mean, how do you tell the people that you're having a party? Is there internet or is there social media or is there newsletters? Well, advertising is my job in the club. That's what I do for Michael and Debbie. So, you know, the last… So, let's say we can paint a picture.

Michael and debbie are the owners of the club and you look after the marketing i do their marketing for them they're great friends we've been friends with them for years um even before they owned the club and um they just asked me to come on board and give my hand with the marketing i do a fair bit of digital stuff so um you know a few hours a week and it benefits me because i get to meet new people as well. Benefits them as part of their business. But we have a very good website. I'm pretty sure that if you have a look at our website, it sort of stands out from a lot of the others.

It's not black background. You know, it's kind of sexy. It's a lot of information on there. We update it regularly with the events.

So I've been to a lot of other sites and yeah you mentioned you have a you have a streaming you actually stream video from the dj area so um when there's yeah when there's a theme night and we got the dj playing um people can go to the website and it actually says streaming you know club streaming now and there's a video feed the video is only of the dj box yeah so relax everybody so you're not going to be it's just the dj we really respect people's privacy about coming to the club but um it's good because you get to listen to all the party music that we're dancing to all night and on some nights we have 50 60 people log into that and listen so yeah it's good so the website's probably the best us.

And some months we get up to 1,000 people a week looking at that site. Wow, okay. Yeah. So what's the website address for people listening? It's www.chateauvino.com.au. So Chateauvino is one word. Chateau is in the French Chateau. Yes. Chateauvino.com.au. And, of course, from that we have an email sign--up form on the front. I think at last count we had like 3,500 people in the email database. Emails go out weekly or fortnightly, depending on the events that are coming up. We're very big on emails and informing people what's happening with the club.

We also advertise through Adult matchmaker through red hot red hot pie there are two um uh advertising partners yeah that's something actually that's something i uh we we touched on when we first walked in as you mentioned there's there's not a lot of clubs in australia that have the ability to actually be involved with both of the two the two major websites in the country anyway look we they're dating just for people listening. So Adult Matchmaker and Red Hot Pie are both kind of dating websites. But they do have a big swinger component too. Yeah, they do, absolutely.

They're really the only two sites in Australia that cater to swingers on that sort of level. There are other smaller ones, but these guys have massive volumes of traffic. Yeah, absolutely. So, yeah, look, we have a really good... Yeah, certainly they're the sites that we're on as well when we're looking for some people to hang out with. For couples, that's right. We have a really good relationship with both sites. Both the event organisers on those sites are awesome people. And we're not exclusive with either, but our information about all our parties is on both sites.

And they both help us in regards to not only the advertising, but also sponsoring things like prizes. And if you look around the club, there's the bark runners, the signage and things around. People know that we are with both clubs all the time.

Would you say that a lot of your patrons actually have profiles on the social media sites yes i do yeah um some have both some have red hot pie some amm you know people they're either on one or the other or they're on both yeah honestly they'll pay for one and be a guest on another or they'll pay for both if they're really into the whole thing um but generally most people and when we get when i get an email from people saying hey this is us do we have to book this is our profile on rhp or on amm they normally will say this is us are we are we nice enough to come to your club do we fit do we fit your profile can we come sir yeah it's like turn up we'll.

We like everybody. Yeah. So I suppose that's actually a good segue to something else we were going to ask, is the people that you generally see here. And, you know, I suppose couples, age, singles, whether it be females or males, just I suppose the idea. You want to run down on it? Yeah, just a bit of what the vibe's like, you know.

Sure know sure um well okay just let me go to the single males because i know that some some people when they think about clubs they think about masses of single guys and it is it is a lot of concern for couples like a lot of the emails i have to answer is oh we're not sure about coming to your club because you have single guys even on the busiest nights here we only have four single guys and they are generally members. If they're a new guy, Michael vets them with a series of questions that usually gets the bad ones to stumble anyway. So we're very, very strict on the numbers.

We're also quite strict on the quality of the guys because we know that couples or single ladies are looking for nice guys that are gregarious by nature that they can communicate with the social intercourse before the sexual intercourse again. That's $5 for that trademark thing. Wasn't that mine? No, just while we're doing this, I've just been loading that on the internet. I mean, our listeners know that I enjoy having a man fuck as regularly as I can. Is that too crass? No! Sorry, shag? Should I say shag? Should I say... No, I'm fine. Fuck's okay? Okay, yeah, we'll do that. Yeah. You sure?

Why not? Just, here's an update for you. So, Michael and Debbie's background is couples. And one of the reasons we don't have a lot of single guys here is...

And Michael won't worry about me saying this michael doesn't like a lot of single guys when he goes to clubs anywhere so he won't have them his own club um but we also know that there is a need for a night with lots of single guys so myself my wife and another couple have offered to run the club on a friday night coming up where we're going to have up to 40 single guys in the club and we will be purely marketing it to couples like yourself that want the single guys or the single ladies so it's not it uh it's not locked in stone yet for a date but there is a night coming up at shadow vena where we can't call it greedy girls um because somebody else does that that's a great call it stallions and studs because that's just crass.

We don't know what we're going to call it, but it will be a night where we will allow probably 40 guys, if we can get that many. I mean, have you ever seen anybody try and organise a party where you've got to get a lot of single guys? Yeah, actually. It's like 70% never-know shows. We've tried to organise single guys for us, and it's amazing how little effort a single guy is willing to put in to get laid. Absolutely, yeah. It really is. Well, one of the things that Michael really instils in the guys that come here, it's a privilege to be here. We cater to couples and single ladies.

So when he's talking to him on the phone, hey, guys, it's not a brothel, and you should be really privileged if we let you come to the club because you've answered some questions in a correct way and we hope that you can mix and mingle in a nice way and play nice now if we get anybody that's creepy they're out the door within 10 minutes yeah so that's one of the i suppose one of the reasons that we were interested well certainly i was interested in this club is that um is the single guy content because again it's not something we generally get an expert well neither of the clubs in well it's very rare it's it's not a it, again, it's not something we generally get an expert.

Well, neither of the clubs in, well. It's very rare. It's not as often that you find single guys. And to go through the vetting process that you just mentioned, for us to go through it, for me to go, because it's generally me, it sucks. Being there, done that. Balls. You're not telling me anything. Absolute balls. You're not telling me anything I don't know. It's terrible. Female unicorns are a lot easier to find than male. Yeah. Trying to find a good quality guy that you're willing to share with your wife Thank you. You're not telling me anything. Absolute balls.

And then he'll hear that and he'll think about you locking him in a cage and he'll be very very happy with that i mean so as long as he's chained in sorry i i didn't i didn't answer your question either because the others everyone else that comes along but we find in queensland especially in southeast queensland the demographic for couples for instance is generally mid to late 30s to mid to late 40s Yeah.

That the bulk of the people so look we've had nights there was one night here where i walked into the club fairly late and walked past two of these rooms this one that we're in here in particular and there was uh two beds full of like mid-20s couples and we're like what you know very rare never happens but it did happen i think that well, certainly in what we've experienced, there seems to be that it takes a little while for people to understand their own relationship and also the sexual and intellectual maturity. How does that sound? Listen to me. Listen to me, brains of a lot.

You sound all grown up and everything. I know. It only took me getting to 40 to figure out that. So you're our perfect demographic. You guys are like, you're our demographic for the club. Yeah. We're the right demographic. But we do accept anybody, honestly. We are very welcoming of anybody. And part of the thing that we advertise, and if you go to the website, we always say that sexy is a mindset.

Se not what you look like how old you are so when our catch line is shadow vino it's where the sexy people meet and we've had people email going oh we don't think we'll fit in because we're not hot um i'm anything but hot and a lot of the people who come to the club wouldn't be if you were thinking about the hot thing where there's clubs around where you have to fit certain criteria they're not that hot but everybody that comes here generally has a sexy attitude and that's the most important thing again a good segue i feel so i mean we're talking about we're talking about who comes to your club we're talking about the fact that you know everyone is not a size six has a six pack and, long blonde hair and all the rest of it.

And we get a lot of questions from newbies or people that are new to lifestyle who want to come to your club. I mean, I think we mentioned to you on the way in, we're only now a year in. Yep. It's our swing-iversary, actually. When? Like, I feel like it's this weekend. This weekend? We're going to call it this weekend? Shit, why not? Let's do it. I'd like to speak to you guys about five years and say, wow, what have you done? Well, actually, we're pretty surprised with some of the shit we've done up until this point. It's been good fun. So people want to know.

People want to know what the club is about. They ask a lot of questions. And I mean, I'm sure you get a lot of newbies kind of questioning. So, I mean, what would you say if there was one or two key pieces of information for a newbie couple, brand new, haven't been to a club before, they're coming tonight, what would you say to them? Okay, as far as the club goes, I can give them lots of advice as far as newbies go, what you should do in the lifestyle.

When you go to a club, okay, when you come to our club in particular, so as I said to you, the social social areas are well away from the play areas so it's not in your face um everybody is here for the same reason you're here um they're not necessarily here to hook up straight away but they're here to meet people in the lifestyle they're here to meet swingers so you just you must always be um keen to approach people and start a conversation um also if you do uh find you're talking to a couple and the conversation goes towards let's go to a room before you go to a room just ask what their boundaries are yeah it's really important you know what people don't do that enough and especially newbies they'll end up in a room and they start breaking their perceived boundaries before they got there which they haven't even talked about anyway and it all ends in tears and you know let's be honest it happens here it's happening in clubs in Sydney I've been to I've seen women and guys leaving clubs in tears so I always say to people make sure your communication lines between yourselves are open but communicate with the other couple as well if you've only got one couple in the room with you if you've got two make sure it's a very quick newbies note but also it's uh i mean don't feel obliged no absolutely well it's socializing here it's it's all about getting to know people first before you jump into it um and so yeah you've got to be able to at least hold a conversation with people at our club before you you're going to go and have sex it's just a fact you know Okay, let's go lighthearted.

What are you wearing right now? Okay, well, I'm in work mode, but this would probably be what I would wear to the club most nights, which is a... Yeah, that's what we want to wear right now. You can lie. Which is a... You can prance if you really want to. What I consider a nice pair of jeans and a shirt. So we always say to people, dress, don't turn up in shorts and T-shirts. Turn up, dress to impress. Shorts, T-shirts and thongs are out. No, they're in for our Australia Day party. Oh, yes, sorry, for the Australia Day party, yes.

And sorry, just to convert for our American listeners, of which we have many, we're talking the thongs that go on the feet rather than on the arms. Flip-flops. Flip-flops, yeah. Or for our Kiwi friends, jandals. Jandals, yeah. No, jandals are different. Oh, really? Jandals have got a strap across them. Oh, no. Wayne's getting pretty technical. I was going to say, how do we get on? So for our listeners, actually. They are not sexy. Wayne did a rubbish job of that, so I'm going to talk through Wayne's wardrobe right now. So, I mean, what you're wearing is exactly what I would expect a guy to wear to a swingers club. Yep.

You know, it's nice. And I might add, in the majority of swingers clubs we've been to, and I'm sure it's no exception here, the women are dressed to an equivalent standard. So, you know, both of us are sitting in here in jeans, just a nice button-up shirt.

I've also got my sleeves rolled up it is queensland and uh you know the ladies are just dressed um appropriately to that standard and i mean you you're a little bit nipply at the moment actually i think there's actually a um a listener currently sitting out in i'm going to do i'm going to do a shout out yeah debbie i well i was going to say d um debbie's quite happy for you to say Okay, right. Yeah, because you can't have any nudity in the social area. Okay, so cleavage out. Enough to kind of motorboat, I would say. There's a lot to motorboat. She does have very good motorboatable. It's kind of like ledge-worthy. They are ledge-worthy and motorboatable.

Look, we do get people, a lot of the ladies turn up in skimpier outfits, but we always try and advertise this place also as an alternative to going to the nightclubs and Surfers. Yeah. So we get people come here that are not necessarily hardcore swingers or they're just, as you say, they're just starting out and they're not quite sure. And, you know, people say, oh, why don't you just go and try and pick up some people at nightclub in Surfers? Well, this is a much better option. Yeah. And it's got a very nightclub feel when the night gets going. Well, absolutely.

I mean, that's certainly one of the things that we noticed here was the dance floor. And we will actually, Wayne was nice enough to give us a chance to take some photos before anyone. Yes, I'll put those up, actually. We've also got a big gallery on the website. Yeah, but these are kind of like naughty secret photos. They're better than your average photos, aren't they? I can tell you some stuff. 15 years. Okay, well, I mean, let's talk about that. Maybe not the club, but more specifically. You've been in the lifestyle for 15 years. Yeah, 15 years.

can tell you some stuff 15 years okay well i mean let's let's talk about that maybe not the club but more specifically you've been in the lifestyle for 15 years yeah my wife yeah 15 years we actually started um in the lifestyle before we were really technically going out like we fell into so you were fuck buddies we were fuck buddies and then started swinging and then we basically fell in love and ended up getting married we were only married nine years but we've been in the same 15.

wow okay yeah um but I can tell you like when you say to me you're only a year in boy you've got some stuff to see yet. Yeah and we are looking forward to every aspect of it.

Oh there's some there's some good there's always good and bad trust me there's always good and bad and there's you know people talk about the jealousy issues and things we've been all through that that sort of thing and I think it's important that people need to be aware that that's probably coming up at some stage and the most important thing and i cannot emphasize this enough is communication but it's past hang on but it sounds par se but when you talk about communication a lot of couples we know that we call muggles you know the muggles yeah they're a little they're not they swingers.

I'm a Harry Potter fan. Okay. We call non-swingers muggles, right? So we find a lot of muggles couples that we know don't have a level of communication that we have because of our swinging background. It's as simple as that. Because we've gone through issues that they're never going to go through where trust and communication are at a level way above a normal muggle relationship. Simple as that. Yeah. I mean, you've got a strong relationship in 15 years now. Yeah. I mean, that's evidence enough, right? Yeah.

Well, look, we love each other, but we do hate each other at times, which is pretty normal. I was hating on him earlier today. Yeah. Pretty normal. So he would have happily set me on fire and toasted marshmallows around my burning corpse. I came in from an international flight. I've been away from work, so, you know, I'm not going to lie. There's a little bit of tiredness going on. The other thing that you'll hear that's clichéd, but for us has proven time and time again to be 100% like a dead cert. Couples that play together stay together, right?

And we've seen so many couples in the scene that keep going, oh, we're stronger than they're off in different suburbs and um next thing you know they're divorced yeah it happens a lot yeah it's uh well certainly for us we we um there's no there's no change in the in the way we play we we've um we've always played together and i don't foresee anything in the future where we don't we we enjoy part of this is is that we enjoy each other. That's right. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, there's nothing more sexy than... Ooh, here's a question. So 15 years. Yep. Nine years married. Yep.

First time you saw your wife with another man. Yeah. Run us through the situation. Absolutely hot. So it was, well, actually, no. Okay, I'll tell a lie. The very first swinging thing for us was at a club. I won't mention the club. It's a great club. It's a great club, but the experience on that night was absolutely horrendous because we didn't know the rules. And we ended up in an open area, sitting in the corner, watching, and people were just coming over to us, and we didn't know that we could say no or no thanks.

And we had a horrible night and it took a lot of months to get the courage to go back. And we went back because we met somebody who'd been there and said, you're doing it all wrong. This is what you've got to do, mate. It's all about you, you know. And the next time we went, we had an absolute ball. It's around the time of the Sydney Olympics, so the place was packed, you know. And we had an absolute ball. And once we knew the rules and we set our own rules, it's great. It was great. And, you know, we've strayed from those things. We strayed from our boundaries.

We've always come back because it's like, shit, that doesn't work. You know, or we see somebody else that fails for them. We go, well, we don't want to get into that scenario. Too heavy? No, not at all. It's actually a really good point because you can have these times when things aren't great or the night doesn't go exactly to plan. But the most important thing is that, one, you know what you liked, what you don't like. And two, you might circle back to it. And you might kind of dip your toe in the water and say, actually, I don't like light bondage or whatever the case may be.

And so you go, okay, well, that's not for us anymore. You've got to stretch your boundaries sometimes to figure out where they are. Yeah. It's that simple. So there are times where, I mean, we've certainly done it on a few occasions. In midway through, you might go, don't like this, back them off. You don't have to kind of finish the night with regrets. You kind of have a little bit of a dip in the water, and then you go, actually, don't want to stop. And that's the thing.

If you're playing with people that are experienced in the scene, there is no shame or there's nothing to say, hey, guys, can we just stop? This isn't working. You know what? The first time you do that, it's so liberating. It's liberating. It's like, oh, my God, we just said no to somebody because we didn't want to do it. We weren't enjoying it.

Because there's been times where we've gone through with something and gone, oh god that was shit and it really puts you off doing something next time and it happens a lot with people yeah simple okay well i mean um but the sexiest thing we've ever seen yeah yes yeah okay can i just tell you that one yes the very the very first big play party we had here so we always talk about the club being very social the big play parties, what happens there is you can play anywhere in the club except the bar. So you can walk around nude anywhere. At 10.30, it's compulsory dress down.

It's the only nights where we have compulsory dress down. Do you have like a clock wind down? I'm the one that gets in the microphone and says, get your pants off. I bet you do. Yeah, I love it. I love it. So the girls get down to lingerie. Yep. The guys get down to boxers. I bring my own little silk robe because I'm a bit of a wuss. So I'll walk around with a silk robe. But guys can walk around with a silk robe with a wrecked penis pointing out between the flaps at the front. May or may not happen. So, but at 10.30, that's the rule.

And at 12 o'clock, we lock the door so nobody can come in after 12 o'clock and you can play anywhere but the very first party we had here except the bar at the bar except the bar yeah nothing unsexy than people screwing on the bar yeah especially right beside my drink that i'm about to see absolutely or next to the lemon wedges uh yeah so yeah what we did was we put mattresses on the dance floor you've seen it's a big dance floor yeah so um obviously our first party somebody's got to get the party started and we did in the middle of dance floor and it literally within 10 minutes the dance floor was just heaving bodies it was spectacular wow that for me that was one of the one of the best things i've ever seen that'd'd be 12 metres by...

Oh, 10 by 10? Yeah. 10 metres by 10 metres? Yeah, 10. Well, it's a lot. It's big. It's a lot of sexy bodies in a big... And it was really hot. It was really hot because, one, we started, but, two, the party... It started off the big play parties for us, which now are quite infamous or famous. It's really funny because a lot of other clubs now start talking about having big play parties. We're like, well, we did that. We did that. So five years ago.

But I mean, down in Melbourne and stuff, we hear about parties down there where you have to walk in, nine o'clock, they ring a bell, and you're in your undies. but it doesn't happen here only on that night yeah well i mean uh i suppose for me at some parties we've been to i would have hated for somebody to to tell me to dress down at a particular time which but that's i mean it really depends on the on the group and we make the vibe we advertise that that's what's going to happen yeah so with those.

With some of those parties that you're talking about, people turn up not knowing that that's going to happen. Yes, absolutely. And that's bad. Actually, I'm just going to go on a little bit of a tangent, sort of, but not really. It's actually almost a very good segue. We talk to a lot of couples who say to me, see, how do I go the next step? I've met a couple. I like them. I'm horny. I'm keen on them.

How do I dress them down see how do I go the next step I've met a couple I like them I'm horny I'm keen on them how do I dress them down and how do I invite them to a room I'm nervous I don't know what to do having almost this deadline of you've got to get to your lingerie yeah maybe it kind of helps them take that next step it does it's a good scenario for that sort of thing and when we started off we didn't advertise it really to newbies and we found that the first party we were getting lots of newbies there and now we actively say hey it's still a you make your own decision when you want to play party but it gives you an opportunity to see a sort of a little bit more hardcore side of the scene but in a safe environment where you can still say no well the glorious thing about that is you can sit on the edges of the of your dance floor and just watch the live porn and i can i say with the size of your dance floor that would be fucking awesome the live porn absolutely yeah and you could come as a newbie couple maybe you're dipping your toe and you just want to play with your partner and you could watch the sexiness going on.

And then disappear to another location. You know, you can come to a room, put the chain across. Is it too much info if I tell you I was involved in a DP in the garden? Sorry, the beer garden. When I say the garden not in the garden, but in the beer garden. As I said to you, it was a great party. So out the door and to the left, to the right. The smogers area. It was everywhere. It was going, I tell you, it was going on everywhere. It was a great night. Let's just say it was out near the back door. Hey, there you go. Oh, I see what you did there. You're on fire tonight, aren't you? Yeah, yeah.

Oh, okay. Yeah. I mean, what do you want to ask, Wayne? I mean, questions. We're in Queensland. It's a brand new territory for us. Well, I mean, it's only brand new. We used to live here. Admittedly.

Yeah, it's's a brand new territory for us well i mean it's only brand new we used to live here admittedly yeah yeah it's only a brand new territory for us because we've never played up here yeah we know that we know the area pretty well in terms of getting a taxi around yeah we know how to get it we can definitely hook up a cab if anybody's coming to to the gold coast and needs to know how to get around we can can help you out with that. Swinging, probably not so much. Until tonight. Now we're just like old hats, right? Yeah, we know this shit. I want to know, why the name Chateau Vino?

Do you know the history? Okay, this is a good one. Well, thank you. I can't with that myself. I'm so glad you asked. So, okay, muggles. So when you're around muggles and muggle friends and they say, oh, where are you going tonight? Well, all the people that are regulars here at the club and used to go to the old club of Burley, we always used to say, we're going to the wine club. I like it. It's like a book club. We're going to the wine club. A little bit naughty.

And when your muggle friends are hanging around and you've got some swinger friends with you they say how did you meet the instant thing would be at a wine club right so when mick and debbie uh built the club they were looking for a name they came up with chateau vino so it goes from the wine club to chateau vino and when we advertise chateau vino um people are kind of worked like they can't work out what it is initially but then when you link it to the swingers when you say shadow vino swingers or shadow vino adult venue carries along so life's about variety it's nice to go and test different wines and every and every wine is to everybody everybody has a different taste of a different that's exactly right so shadow vino No, the wine club, that's where that came about, everybody.

Everybody has a different taste of a different wine. That's exactly right. Perfect. I love it. So, Shadow Vino, the wine club. That's where that came about. That is a spectacular story. I like that back story. That's cool. I like it. Because we actually have some really, really cool friends now in the community. I'm totally going to use that. Yeah, I'm going to be like wine club. No, hang on. Hang on. Just remember, I'm actually here. My mother's here this weekend. Yeah. Right? So where were you tonight? Shadow Vino. Wine club? No, probably not that. Maybe we're at the wine club. Yeah.

If she Googles Shadow Vino, you're in trouble. So you just say the wine club. No, Google's not really her friend. Okay. Could happen, though. It could happen. That's awesome. Yeah. I really like that. And can I say that? We've never come up with a reason. No, we just normally say, oh, we're out on the night. We're out on the night. Did he?

I really like that and can I say that we've never come up with a reason no we just normally say oh we're out in the we're out on the night we're in the city and then my colleagues at work say where did you go what really cool bar or new training place did you go to and we say oh I don't know actually wine club done wine club love it totally using that now thank you I'm going to Hashtag wine club. So what I can say is 15 years of Swingers experience in one evening. You've already taught us three things. There you go. So we're doing all right so far. Yeah, doing good.

And I mean, so people come to your club, they get dressed up, they come in the door, coming along, and then they obviously bring their own drinks. So it's a BYO bar. BYO. So that reduces the cost for a night out. Because if you go to nightclubs and stuff, like, I don't know about you, but I might spend, you know, my wife and I might spend $150, $200 on drinks. We're about $300. D-Man likes the scotch. Oh, yeah. I do like scotch. I like a really nice, good quality wine, and that's getting stiffier at a club. Yes. yeah, it's BYO, and sort of the most popular drinks.

Like, people turn up with bottles of wine. Some of the guys will turn up with a six-pack of beers. Normally, like Coronas or something quality. Well, nobody wants to be walking around a swingers club, you know. With a VB.

With a VB in the head, because, you know, perhaps people might judge you judge you on your beer choice well the other thing is i'd prefer if they did bring coronas because then if they leave some in the fridge and go home without them you get to drink i and if i'm here right at the very end well i get your corona so coronas or um preference i like heineken's too if you're putting that on the list um and the other thing is i just i bought a cider and I noticed you were eyeballing that. I was eyeing that off. I love a good cider. I love a good Dickens cider. Have you ever had that?

A Dickens cider? Dickens cider. Dickens, it's a brand. I have put a Dickens cider away every now and again. Wow, that really took a turn. And pre-mix those pre-mix cans and the Ruskies and things. It's actually funny because normally I bring vodka. I bring a bottle of vodka and sometimes I leave with a third of a bottle of vodka. Yeah. Sometimes. You're my loving booze hag. A little bit. Not going to lie. Everybody loves a drink and swing is like a drink more than most. You know what? It's actually about having a good time for me and that's part of it it. Yeah, we have.

We're pretty strict, normally. It's a great lubricant, vodka. We have a little letdown, a little hair letdown. Yeah, absolutely. You probably shouldn't say you have a little letdown. No. Maybe just a hair letdown. Maybe like a hair letdown, and then I've got like a… Or a hairless letdown. My panties go down. Hairless letdown, then panties go down. You two would be a bore, I tell you. I'm annoyed now and not hanging around. But anyway, carry on. Okay, why Chateau Vino? Why is it awesome? I mean, let's do a bit of a plug. Why would you say, come here? Okay, so talk it up, Trev, as they say.

All right, so, look, Chateau Vino, we think we've got a good balance between the social and the sex. It's as simple as that. We think built a really good club location wise is good because we get a good um turnaround of crowd of people so we always have new people here all the time because there's lots of people on holidays surface paradise the gold coast yeah absolutely it's quite a transient society here and even even the long term is a maybe a year or two years you know we get a good crowd.

We generally attract a sexy crowd because we get to advertise through Adult Matchmaker and through Red Hot Pie. We're out there at the front of the scene. People can find out about us. We're going to be their first choice. We've been around for five years. So people go, well, if you've been around for five years, you must be doing something right. That's true, yeah. The 2012, 2013, 2014 Adult Industry Awards, we won Best Club. Wow, awesome. Oh, that's great. They didn't have the awards last year or would have won it again. So we've won that three years in a row.

And just the feedback we get from people interstate, we were at, can I say the club? Yeah, absolutely. So we went down to our secret spot last year to have a look around and meet the owners they're lovely people we know them as the Law and Baby Doll that's our names we have actually had the Law and Baby Doll on our show as well. Oh, well, there you go. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, I mean, we were in the club. We got there early for a bit of a tour and to meet the guys and have a few drinks. And there was a couple sitting in the corner.

There weren't many people there at stage because it was quite early. And, of course, me being who I am, I wanted up and started having a chat. And they said, oh, you know, where are you from? We said, Queensland. And they said, oh, we were up there about a month ago.

month ago oh i said oh we do you go to any clubs up there oh yeah we're to shadow vino how did you enjoy it they went fantastic and i went that's where we're from um and that sort of thing you know we know we're doing our job right yeah um and you know we rarely get you know if you go to any of the forums there's nothing bad written about shadow vino you know it's it's a good club friendly club the regulars are great people um and we you know we're very open to everybody in the scene you know if if they're in the scene and they've got a good attitude and they're nice people they're welcome at the club simple as that yeah absolutely i mean that's one of the things one of the things we learned really early on is that when we came into this we sort of set these boundaries of people of what we expected you know like we were we were this triangle peg and you were yeah the triangle hole exactly but what we've learned on the way through is that um it's actually as you said earlier it's the with enough lubricant the hexagonal piece can fit with can you can i'm trying to sorry can you just try to keep Sorry.

Can you just step off a little bit? I mean, I'm trying to make a point here and you're not helping me out. Just the fact that... And now I've lost my goddamn train of thought. Community. We're talking about the lifestyle community. Yes. The fact that we've really understood that it comes down to the intellectual attraction. As you said before, you know that... Brain's the sexiest organ. Absolutely. And we've been with people that both of us probably prior to being in this scene would have said, oh, no, that's not my style, not my type, not my interest.

But once you get to know someone, and one of the important things about all these clubs and something you touched on a little earlier is that um you've got to have somewhere where you can just sit relax chat it's not too loud it's not too quiet you can't have it either way face but it's also sexy and that's important for newbies as well i would say yeah you need a bit of a little little bit of soft porn heart a little bit of porn showing a little bit naughty a little bit naughty but naughty, but not, you know, looking through your fingers. Should I look at that or should I? Yeah. Yeah.

So it's a, it's, it's really been interesting that we, we've found that along the way as well.

I tell you the opportunity clubs offer too, if you're, if you are online and you're actively seeking couples, people, you know, they'll, instead of meeting for the first time at each other's houses or, you know, coffee look you know there's people it's neutral ground so what you do is you say hey are you interested in going to a club now you've probably both never been before or you have been and they haven't but the thing is if you go to a club and you meet at a club and it doesn't work your night's not shit because you're there there's lots of other people you can meet, or you can just play alone, have a bit of fun on the pole.

But it is neutral grounds. There's no expectations. So that's education number four? Yeah, if I'm going to go.

But the thing is, and the other thing is, as you say, if you do meet a couple and you do hit it off, you're more likely to break the ice at a swingers club and get into a room quicker than if you're seeing each other's houses going um who's going to make the first move yeah how are we going to get this person into the bedroom yes yeah so yeah top of the couch or the you have an alarm clock set in your house like oh it's 10 30 it's dressed down so you can borrow that tactic that's a great idea works here too well i mean next. In closing, kind of like next steps.

I mean, you actually, when you took us on the tour, you've had some renovations. You've had some extra bits of the club. More rooms, more playrooms. Yeah, so the big thing for us last year was more or less doubling the size of the club, which was great because we had nights where it was just impossible to get time in the rooms and it was just really crowded. So we've extended the size of the club. We've got plenty of playrooms now. There's very little opportunity for people to sit and wait and hang around and you can always play. So that was like our next step. That's over. It's complete.

It's great. Michael and Debbie now, I know they're in conversations with people, very, very early stages of conversations about possibly opening the brand up in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast. Wow, okay. Yeah, so if the opportunities do arise and joint venture partners are found, that's probably something that I'll look towards, as I say, early days at the moment because we've just got over all of the build and we've still got little things that, you know, Mike and Levy have got things they really want to finish off in the club. Yeah.

You know, some of the bathrooms and things are going to be redone now, so yeah. Yeah. Well, I mean, it's like having a house as well, isn't it never ends constant evolution of what you're going to do next and you know uh people that come to club you know they'll they'll make suggestions about things they want and we get enough people suggest it then we'll do something like the dark room yeah one thing if you notice we don't have a spa i didn't notice i hadn't noticed that we will never have a spa. Okay. Right. So, background? Background of no spa? So, I don't know. See, one of the things is...

Gold Coast, for starters, it's bloody hot all year round. Yeah, it's hot. But I don't know if you've ever been late enough to be at a club to be like the last people to leave. If the sun's up. No. Have you ever seen the colour of the spa? Too much information. Information. No, but seriously. Spas at clubs, I go, no. Don't do your job. You can't. No, I'm not going to. No, it's like soup. It ends up like soup. It's horrible. Well, I mean, so in our secret spot, there's no play in the spa. It's not the play aspect. It's just that, as you say, look, we're on the Gold Coast. It's hot here.

People might be dancing around. They might get sweaty. You exfoliate in the bubbles. Yeah, yeah, good point. Oh, now we're getting grotty. Okay, let's see. Ooh, grotty. That's a good word. If anybody interested, no, we don't have a spa, and it doesn't matter how many emails you send me, we're not getting a spa. That's actually good. So for our American friends who listen to our podcast frequently, grotty is dirty. Oh, yeah. Grotty is, yeah. It's an Australian. It's grotty. Think grotto, sort of grotty. That's a good way to. Yeah. A little bit dirty, but not the good kind of dirty. Yeah.

Not dirty. Not like a she's dirty. Not the ankles behind her is dirty. It's like she's dirty. Yeah. It's all in the tone. She needs a wash. It's all in the tone.
