This is a bonus episode. bonus everybody welcome back this is a bonus episode bonus how you doing daryl i'm doing all right you know kicking along tell us tell us a little bit and breathing out still uh the right side of the dirt as i say hey that's that's good yeah that's a congratulations on that i'm pretty happy with it i mean i like being alive being alive is a solid solid point and i do try to achieve it every morning when i wake up now it's the end of 2020 it is the end of 2020 it's been an interesting year it was yeah it's been a interesting is the best descriptor it's been exciting for good reasons and for bad um it's been horrific for a lot of reasons you Certainly for some people out there, I feel desperately for what's happening in their lives. So yeah, it's a year, definitely a year. Now we do have, the reason this is a bonus episode and a quick one at that is we do have some big announcements for you guys. And we wanted to take a moment to actually talk about kind of what's happening with us and our journey so if you've been listening so I've just lost my virginity finally finally that's you know that's something I need everybody to know it was fun I don't think I did a very good job but you know she smiled and left the room afterward you'll get there babe I know I'm putting in you're putting in it You're putting in? Yeah. It's all about the journey, not the ending, babe. Practice makes perfect, is what they say. That's what I'm working on, practicing my ass off. Okay. If you've been following our journey and our podcast from the beginning, firstly, thank you, secondly, sorry. I think you might have got the order on. I know, right? You would have been following the fact that we started our journey in Sydney. We spent a bit of time in part two in Papua New Guinea. And then five years ago, I think four and a half years ago, we moved from my work to Singapore. To Swingapore. So we've been in Asia now for four and a half odd years. And, you know, as part of our journey, we tried to always give a bit of a global perspective on how the lifestyle is in different places because there's a lot of voices out there that might focus on certain countries and we wanted to showcase how different people out there in the world actually participate in the lifestyle so we have a couple of really exciting pieces of news daryl we've been wanting to get out of singapore for a bit now your work is now finally taking us abroad. Why don't you make the announcement? Hold on, I do have a sound effect. I've not listened to this, so it's probably quite shit. But let's just see. Well, I mean, most of the sound effects are. Let's just, no. Okay, no, go. Don't ruin it.

Speaker1: That's what you went with? Yeah. Okay, you're right. You were on the money on the call that that might be shit. That is definitely, definitely shit. Okay, I have taken on a new role, which means I shall be moving, and hence Kate would like to attend with me as well. Also, we will be bringing Penny, for those of you who ask, which is, let's be frank, a silly question, because if Penny doesn't go, then, frankly, Kate wouldn't go go which means i don't go we are moving to germany in fact we will be moving to croatia first for a small period of time and then on to germany for the foreseeable future so yeah i'll be living in the lovely city of munich which is in the which is in the bottom half of germany and yeah it's which is actually called bavaria for those of you don't know and we are going there for a new job and for a new life and we're starting fresh with everything we're just burning all of our clothing everything yeah and just and just getting on with it just moving so a few points to note here is that we're not burning all of our clothing daryl did you realize we actually leave in 13 days no i did not is that is that now freaking you the fuck out it is actually a little terrifying given that we're sitting in our house without having packed a single fucking thing yeah so you know how i didn't sleep well last night yeah that's why it's because i realized we got 14 days but now we got 13 yeah well you won't sleep well tonight then either so guys on the 7th of january we are literally out of this country all of our stuff all of our personal items go into a shipping container on the fourth and that's it we're moving to croatia for six months and zagrab in particular which is the capital of croatia and then we're going to be heading over to to germany to munich thereafter why this is so exciting for us aside from a number of reasons and food and wine and different temperature by the way i didn't own a warm thing i've never lived in a cold climate so i'm kind of freaking out we're moving from 36 degrees celsius which is about 2 billion degrees fahrenheit with my calculation to minus ones and twos and even minus fives overnight in Croatia and in Munich. Oh, my God. Which... to minus 1s and 2s and even minus 5s overnight in Croatia and in Munich. Oh, my God. Which, again, calculating that in Fahrenheit is 2.85 billion degrees Fahrenheit. So, yeah, it's going to be a step change in weather. Yeah. An absolute step change. And why this is important and exciting for us, but also I think it's going to be really interesting for you guys is that we are now going to be bringing you more european content so with our change we are going to be able to once covid comes down in europe a little bit actually go to different types of events and start to showcase a little bit more about the european culture and how they approach the swinging lifestyle years and years ago we spoke about going to spain and how that's very very different the clubs in spain versus the ones in australia or the ones in the united states and now we get to explore even more of europe and start to bring you some of that flavor and that's one of the reasons why we're excited i'm very very excited because we're going to be able to visit clubs in different cities and different countries because europe is so close to each other in places that perhaps are a little bit different i'll give you an example in munich they have swingers parties in mansions and castles no in castles castles in castles in a fucking castle guys a swingers party in a castle with like gowns and masks and sexiness and beautiful lingerie like can you can you picture that in your head picture that in your head for a second daryl picturing it and and how much is that turning you on oh i just it's turning you on which is which is more important to me so that's that's our announcement guys we're we're packing our bags our stuff is uh staying in a shipping container for six months and and we're to Croatia. Yes. Ta-da. Tra-la. Wait a second. Let me try to get it. Please don't do it again. What's that? That's a flight attendant announced. That's pretty shit, that one. Yeah, I mean, well, it's just as shit as the previous one, which you are correct, is quite shit. What's this one, Dylan? Oh, man, this is terrible. Yeah, okay, I'm going to stop using YouTube for sound effects. It's not doing me any favours. Yeah, I mean, or we could just do something crazy and stop using sound effects. So another – So that's a no? No, that's a no. So this is really exciting. It is a change. We are moving to Europe. We're going to be bringing you more European content. We are still obviously going to be traveling and doing our thing and bringing your content from all over the world, but we are obviously going to be living in Europe. So we're going to bring that little bit of difference to the podcast. Now, for years, we have been operating our podcast under the Swinging Down Under name, right? So for our whole podcast journey for five, some six years now, we've been Swinging Down Under. And when we moved to Singapore, we made the decision to keep it as swinging down under because in our minds we're like we're still beneath the equator therefore we're still swinging down under plus we're aussies so that's always poke a hole in that because we're actually not so you know let's slightly above it we'll keep moving yeah um and that's been kind of the reason why we've kept the name for our time here in singapore now we're moving to europe and with the change of the kind of content that we're bringing you which we will be changing some of the segments we're going to be bringing you and have some great ideas on the table for 2021. And by we Kate means she will be. Yeah, me. It's all me. And as a result of that guys, the next announcement is that we are finally changing our name so we wanted to step away from uh the swinging down underbrand although near and dear to our hearts because we are aussies and that does mean a lot to us but it was getting to the point where it doesn't really make a lot of sense for us right now so who's ready hey maybe i can find a drum roll sound effect it's too late now keep talking daryl real quick i'm not going to talk because I don't wish for a drum roll. Make the noises so I can do this. Ta-da. Ta-da. Okay, so we are changing our name to Wanderlust Swingers. So if you're wondering what that about, Wanderlust is the necessary requirement or the requirement or the desire to travel the world and see new things and experience new cultures which we are very much about and and that's definitely giving us the global flavor that we want to actually bring to the table so that's going to be our new name so from january onwards we're going to do a complete rebrand we've got a new logo coming out which again thank you to our patreon team members our patrons for helping us vote on the logos we gave you guys a bit of a looky loo and you helped us pick which logo we wouldn't carry forward with which is a really big decision and so coming next year we will be rebranding as the wanderlust swingers and bringing you some slightly different content different segments so are you excited daryl wandery and lusty so wandery so lusty yep so swingery so swingery all those Yep. So swingery. So swingery. All those things. I'm excited about the trip. I'm excited about being in a new country, excited about trying new foods, et cetera, et cetera, all those things. So, yes, I mean, excited, but also terrified. It's just a little side note. It is, actually. And I know we, you know, if you are actually on our Patreon, you would have known that this was coming for quite some time now some two to three months that we do a monthly vlog and i've been updating everybody on what's been happening with the emotional roller coaster i guess that comes along with actually uh this happening and yeah all of our stuff's going into a container for six months and we're living in a furnished apartment in zagagreb in Croatia and this is something that we've not done before. We've never not, you know, we've always bought our stuff with us. We've always kind of had those creature comforts. So we have to now walk around the house and go, okay, what don't we need for six months, which is a huge deal and we still haven't done that now. We've only got 13 days. So just a reminder on that. Yeah, keep saying 13 because that's a nice round, you know, unlucky number. Hey, but we have our visa for Croatia. We are ready to go. And as Daryl said, on the 7th of January, Penny's coming with us. We are out of Singapore and we are taking our journey in Europe. For those of you who've never flown in business class, which I might add is not a frequent for us either. But this time around, we will be doing this. The sole reason is that we can carry our dog in business class. She is officially a yuppified dog. Yeah, we wanted to make sure that we could actually bring her on the flight. Obviously, we did adopt Penny last year from the SPCA. She's old and she's partially blind and she's got PTSD. So we wanted to make sure we could bring her on actually on the plane. So that's why we've taken our specific route and on the particular airline that we're on. So, hey, if you guys are following our social media on Twitter or Instagram, keep a lookout for that.
