Expectations Vs. Reality

And we're in the car again, this time driving home after dropping our son off for his second year in college. Oh, my baby. Yeah, you weren't feeling that there as we were. You were done. He was done. Yeah. We were done. Yeah. But if you want another reminder of just how old we're getting, we are also doing this on the eve of our 30th wedding anniversary. Oh, yes. Yes. Which brings us to our, I wouldn't say lesson for today. I'd say it's more of our adventure. But it wasn't much of a sexual one. We went down to New Orleans to celebrate. our 30th. We'd gotten an opportunity to go down for a couple of days. And while we were there, we did check out Colette, the only lifestyle club in New Orleans. You would think, especially with something called Naughty in New Orleans and everything, that maybe there'd be another club or two down there. There were. There were one time. There were two other clubs. But both have since closed. One had a swimming pool in it. Which got me thinking like, wow, if we had the money. Lots of strip clubs and burlesque type, you know, clubs. Plenty of those. Absolutely. But in terms of lifestyle club, yeah, Colette's the only deal in New Orleans. With the ladies being very out there. Oh. Walking around the strippers. The strip clubs, yeah. Yeah, walking out there in their skimpy clothes, trying to entice people to come in on bourbon streets. I was like, wow, okay. We didn't go in. We thought about it, but we were too tired. We were too tired. And one thing, and it's so funny, too, because the heat was oppressive. Yeah, and the locals, though, were talking about how it was a pretty mild summer for them. For them. But it was killing me. Yeah, yeah. So it's with that, and we did the trip to Colette on the last night. I had gone to the website and filled out an application to join. Theirs is a little more detailed in how they approach it. You had to answer questions about how long you were in the lifestyle, what other websites you use. What did you expect from the club and such? Now, the nice thing was that we went on Newbie Night, which was the Wednesday, because that's another thing. This place is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. You know, most clubs in our area, definitely Saturdays, and not even all of them stay open on Fridays. So it was kind of interesting to see. Now, signed up. Membership was free since we were going to Newbie Night. We only had to pay the price to enter, which for Wednesday night was $40. Not bad. Which is not bad. I mean, if you just want to check out, which is what we just wanted to do. We wanted to see what the place was like, what the scene was like. We went in knowing that there weren't going to be a lot of people because it was a Wednesday night. And surprisingly, there actually was a fair amount. I'd say, what, maybe about 15 couples? Yeah. When we first got there, it was, I think it was fairly early yet. Yes. And there was only one couple in the place and the bartender. And the bartender. And it was funny, too, because I had spoken to somebody about going because he had been in New Orleans, he and his wife, earlier in the summer. And he was like, no, I heard it's seedy and it's in a seedy neighborhood. Well, first of all, you know, New Orleans by its name. is a little seedy. You know, when you when you look at certain areas and such, I would not have called this a seedy neighborhood. That was right across the street from a Hilton. There were plenty of people out on the street at the time. The only thing I would say, which was, I mean, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. No signage whatsoever. Yeah. So when we pulled up in the Uber, we're like trying to find the address and looking. And so we decided actually to just get out of the car and walk around and see if we could find it ourselves. ourselves, instead of keeping our Uber driver waiting, and there was a guy standing in front of the place, no lights, no discernible marks. If you walked by, you would have thought it was an abandoned building. It was the funniest thing, but sure enough, as soon as he saw us, and I guess with our little bag of alcohol. Yeah, a little bag of alcohol and kind of the confused looks on our faces, he realized, he just kind of opened the door. That's it, he just opened the door, and we're looking at it going, okay, this is it. So we go inside and immediately and we both said it almost immediately that It had Saints vibes Saints and Sinners Atlantic City vibes We can't say about the other places because we've never been to the other two locations but this had Saints and Sinners vibes It was a little rundown A little cheesy A little cheesy But see that's what we loved about the place Yeah. We did. We loved it. It even had to smell like Saints. Yeah. It kind of had like that smell of being near the water. Like musty. Like a musty kind of smell. A little musty. Yeah. Yeah. Two stories. The main floor was the bar dance area. And like I said, you know, bartender there. And immediately, as part of the vibes, we were like, wow. She could be like Ginger's younger sister. Yeah. It reminded us of the bartender. Yeah. Talked a lot with her. Yeah. She was very outgoing, very friendly. And slowly people started coming in. We sat at the bar for most of the time. We talked to a few people. We talked in particular to one single guy who was very chatty. Nice guy. But you weren't feeling it. Well, here's the funny thing, right? Like, so we were going to the we were going to the club and I was just feeling just physically kind of off sorts. I think from like just being out in the heat and, you know, eating a lot of rich food, I just wasn't feeling great. But I, you know, and I almost had even started to say, you know, maybe we don't go. And you were like, all right, you know, that's fine. If you don't want to go, let me know now. But then I was like, no, let's just go. We said we were going to go and I want to get out and let's just go and check it out. Right. So I kind of went in with not exactly a sexy mindset. I kind of went in with like, you know, I mean, I was fine to be there and chat and talk to people, but I wasn't like, I wasn't feeling very sexy at all. And it was nice. I mean, we did talk to people. We spoke to this one guy who works with the club. Oh, yeah. Not for the club, but he works with the club. And he also does work with Naughty in New Orleans. He gave us his business card. And, you know, that's a possible contact because one of the things we got out of the whole thing is we said, maybe next year, We will do Naughty in New Orleans, especially because we're timeshare owners. Yeah, we bought a timeshare down there. We bought a timeshare down there. Well, while we were down there, it's good for like all over the place, but we could use it in New Orleans. We could use it other places too. Right. So anyway, so that, yeah. So we were thinking, you know, we could potentially use our timeshare points to go back to New Orleans next year and check out, go, go, during Naughty in New Orleans and kind of check it out because we've heard so much about it. And, you know, it could be fun. And that place that they showed us just as their resorts in New Orleans. I mean, their apartments, they're gorgeous. Yeah, they're gorgeous. They are absolutely gorgeous. But going back to the club, you know, so the downstairs, so then the upstairs is the playroom. Right. Well, playrooms. They don't have a playroom or red room per se like. With like a whole bunch of beds. No. and some other places. There was, I think, one room that had maybe two beds, right? There was, like, one room with maybe two beds. That kind of reminded me of the orgy room at Wicked. Yeah, yeah. It was smaller. Yeah. They had what was really interesting was, like, a room they called the library, and it had, like, all this really kind of fancy-looking furniture in there and all these books. And the books were all pornographic. Yeah. It just seemed really weird and kind of out of place. Right. It just seemed odd. And then they had what was kind of cool, like a film room. It was a movie theater. It was a movie theater with little couches that could see two or three people. Yeah. And a big screen, you know, they were showing adult films. And honestly, God, the film that they showed was the nastiest, the most disgusting porn. You were fine until the climax. Oh, God. You were fine until the climax. It was not anything I needed to see. So basically what happens is this woman is having getting anal sex and the guy comes in her butt and then she essentially just the camera zooms in on her butt as she like expels all of the cum yeah and it was just I'm like I don't need like that is I mean I don't know maybe like some people it's does something for him but if if I wasn't feeling sexy going into the club after seeing that no that That would have killed any little bit of sexy I might have felt. I can't think about it. They've got several rooms with just one bed where you can pull a curtain across. If you pull one curtain across, it's see-through so people can look in. If you pull the other one across, that means you want privacy. They had one room like at Charisma. where there were windows and it was around bed. Right. Yes. And you could, you know, look in if you wanted. You could leave the door open. You could leave the door closed. It all depended. And, you know, again, they are concerned about the safety and well-being, which we don't see often at a lot of clubs. There was actually someone walking the floor up and down to make sure. What did they call her? Compliance, right? Consent office. Oh, something like that. Something like that. Yeah. And we've never seen that before. Right. I've heard about it. Yeah. But I've never seen one actually in a club. And I thought it was pretty cool. Yes. No, that was that was really cool. And the bartender was telling us how sometimes she's that person, you know, like they take they take turns. Right. Yeah. You know. Yeah. So she was just up there just making sure that, you know, anything that's happening is, you know, with, you know, under consent. So. That was very cool. And they had a system where there were heart-shaped pillows and they were at the foot of the bed. If the heart-shaped pillow in any way was moved, they went in and changed the sheets. So, you know, kept keeping up the cleanliness, too, of the place. Yeah. Yeah. Which we don't see, again, at a lot of places. Right. You know, it's usually, as the night goes on, you know, the longer you wait to get into one of those beds, you run the risk of, a bit of a mess. Yeah, yeah. You know. So I did like that. I thought that was very, I guess you could say classy. Yeah. Now, I went into it, and I've got to admit, and I was a little disappointed that nothing did happen. I don't know why. That's always our big thing, is no expectations. If you go in with no expectations, when something really does happen, it's great. But if you build something up in your mind, and then it doesn't happen, Then you get annoyed. And I kind of did it. I don't know. Maybe it was just because we traveled all the way down there. And that wasn't the purpose of going down to New Orleans. But we set this thing up with Colette. I thought, all right, we'll have an experience. And it wasn't hopefully we'll have an experience. I was like in my head going, we'll have an experience. So that leads us to today's lesson slash sexy story. No expectations. All right. Easy to say, but I can tell you one of the best experiences Sue ever had was when she went in with no expectations to a club. Yeah. So this is, again, wicked fun. Wicked fun. It's a Friday night. Yep. And we went and I think I remember even, I think I was kind of like feeling the same way, like about like just not. Oh, you had definitely said, I don't want anything to happen. I don't want to be home I just want to get out for a while let's go to wicked fun yeah I think okay yeah right so we get we get there drive there get there you know talk to Steve the owner for a bit and you know you had a drink maybe two I don't know yeah not a lot not a lot no and it's Friday night so they're single guys you're going to 95 which right so keep Keep going straight for now. So, um, till we get there, and I don't know what it was, but at some point, you were talking to this guy, W, and we knew him. We'd seen him before, and you decided to just suddenly strip down. That was so funny, that one couple. Yeah. There was one couple there that people, we were talking to them, and it's sort of like you, you guys are married, and I think one said yes and the other said no. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So I was like, okay, cool, cool. But the couples weren't They weren't even really talking much to anybody. No, no. And then I think at one point, you know what it was? I went out to where the lockers were. Right. And I basically, I stripped down, but I was wearing like whatever bra, you know, like I have my underwear on, like my bra, my pants, and I wasn't naked or anything. But still, just the fact that you did that when you said nothing's happened, like what do you, was it like you were warm? No, no. You know what? I think at that point I kind of warmed up to the idea of something happening. And I think I just was like tired of everybody just sitting around staring at each other. You tend to do that sometimes when when there's no action going on you tend to start try and see if you can get something going or motivate people. Yeah because I think at that point Steve walked out and saw me do that and I go somebody's got to do something I said to him. I walked back in the room and that's when you know we kind of you know went me and you went we had W come with us. Yes you asked W to join us. Yes. in the swing room. You started out in the swing room. Yeah, put you on the swing and he was... Yeah. And you were, you know, I was on the other end at your head. Well, you tried to get behind me, but the room wasn't big enough to really accommodate that. So you kind of, that didn't work very well. That didn't work very well. No. But no, that was fun. That was definitely fun. So, you know, W fucked me on the swing for a little bit. And then you did for a bit, I think, right? I think I did. Yeah. Yeah. And then... Oh, then S showed up. S shows up. Now, S is a guy we've actually known a while. Yeah. And you and he have had a few encounters. Just the one time before that. Only one? I thought it was twice. No. All right. Well, either way, he's just standing in the doorway. He's not saying anything. He's watching. And you invited him. Yeah. And it was like, well, this isn't going to work now. So we gathered. Room was too small. Room was too small. The swing. And it was like, all right. Gather Up Our Things, start walking. And as we're walking, I'm like, you do know what we're doing, right? What's happening here? And you just smiled. You didn't say anything to me. Yeah. You know, so we went and found a room. And, you know, it's the two of them and me. And having a good time. All of a sudden. All of a sudden. So all of a sudden, one more gentleman who we just met that evening. He's standing in the doorway. And, you know, you really liked him. But again, just talk. We had talked with him online. And we've been talking with him online. But like, again, you know, not expecting that you would invite someone who you hadn't had any experience time with before. Yeah. And you just gesture to him. And it didn't take any coaxing on his parties. Strip down quickly. And before you know it, you know, you're getting fucked. They were talking with him back and forth online. Yeah. And nothing happened. Yeah. Weirdest thing. Yeah. Weirdest thing. So, yep. So what started out is what I thought was going to be maybe, you know, just like a night to go out and have a couple of drinks and chat with some folks ended up being one of the hottest, hottest experiences I've ever had. Yeah. And, uh, would you do it again? I would a hundred percent do it again. Yeah. And, In the right circumstance. In the right circumstance. Well, see, that's the thing. It's funny because here's this that happens just completely on the fly. You know, no expectations, no idea that it was going to happen. Meanwhile, you know you've wanted it for some time. Yeah. Okay? Twice I have tried to organize with single guys we know and you would trust. And twice they flaked on us. Yeah. You know? It's funny. One of the message boards on one of the sites, a guy was saying how he wants to, you know, get a bunch of guys. The wife wants a gang back. Worst possible way. Blah. And he goes, one guy says to him, oh, maybe I can join you in between football games. Because, you know, they're trying to set up for September. In between football games. I'm like, are you freaking kidding me? Wow. You're being invited to come, And you're worrying about your football games? See, and that's what gets me. All these, you know, this, I got this, I got, it's like, we set it up. But meanwhile, here we are just walking in. And okay, everybody was cool with it. You know, everybody had a good time. Everybody wants to do it again. So, but yeah, so that's, that's the biggest lesson, whether you are, If you're brand new, especially if you're brand new, don't go in with expectations because the expectations can also freeze you up. You know, if you think about it, you go in thinking, well, we're going to do this, this, and this. And then suddenly you might find yourself in another situation that you know you'd like to do, but maybe you weren't ready. But you've got it in your head, but this is what we want. You know, expectations sometimes can really screw you up. And it screwed me up because like I said, I was, I was I got angry. I got angry. I got annoyed at the whole thing. And I regret that. Well, I mean, I think, you know, it was understandable, too, because like you said, we were on vacation and there's like that part about being on vacation that, you know, you want to do things and you want to experience things. And, you know, but it always does work out better. I think every single time, every single time, it always has worked out better for us when we go in without expectation. Right. Absolutely. Absolutely. I agree. Yeah. Planning things a lot of times. I mean, not to say that we don't plan things. Yeah, but that's different if we're planning to meet a couple that we've played with before or just, you know, whatever. Like, you know, different things you can plan. But like to go into a club or event situation. You know what I think it is? I think if we had Turnpike. Stay Straight. Okay. They had been able to dance. Well, that's it, too. That was the thing with Colette. There was no DJ. Watch this guy. He's not even, now he's singling. They do have a DJ on the weekends, but they didn't have one on Wednesday night. And music playing. And music playing. But nobody danced. Yeah, nobody danced. Even the bartender was saying, like, what is this? What is this? But it's whatever was programmed, so off it went. But it was, it wasn't an In any way, making you feel like you wanted to get up and dance. Yeah, but sometimes, yeah, like being on the dance floor can at least loosen. I don't even say loosen you up. I'm just saying some of our best experiences of clubs, and we've had no sex at all. We just enjoyed the night. We just enjoyed the night dancing. Dancing, you and I, and drinking, and just having fun with each other. That's true, too, yeah. You know, maybe afterwards we go back to the room, and you and I will have sex. Yeah. I think that may have been it, too. It's like, I just felt we were sitting there drinking. Right. And I just felt, what a waste. Right, right. You know? Yeah. For us. I just felt that was a waste. Right. That there are better things we could have been doing with our time. Not that I didn't enjoy the conversations with the bartender. She was really cool. Yeah. And cute. Yeah, she was cute. Yeah. So, and I would say, I mean, I don't know about you, I'd like to, if we do go to Naughty in New Orleans, I'd like to go to Colette maybe on a Friday or Saturday night. Yeah. Well, what the, One of the guys that we did meet there, the one that you were talking about that, you know, works with Naughty in New Orleans, said that during Naughty in New Orleans, that place gets packed. Yes. So, you know, yeah, I don't even think it would matter what night we went. Honestly, I think any night we would go... True....during that period of time, it would probably be really busy. Right. Yeah, I could see that. Might be a little too packed. Might be a little too packed. But I'd be willing to at least give it a try. Yeah. So, all right. Well, there you have it, folks. Expectations. Our planned trip to Saints and Sinners Northeast had to be postponed. Yeah. I got zapped with a huge auto repair bill that needs taken care of, so that sort of puts that on the back burner there for now. But we still do have other things planned. September 18th, we're going to be at Is it 18th or 20th? September 20th. Club for Plays Back to School? Yeah. Neon. Neon Back to School. Yep. Yes. That's one night, Saturday night. So we'll be there in Meriden, Connecticut for that. Then in October, we're going to be at Scranton, Pennsylvania for IPG's Halloween Party. That's a two-day event. for Halloween. I think so. Yeah. I should always really call these things up for half the month. Yeah. And then Wicked Fun is opening. They're actually going to start opening early. They're doing a soft open in September. The official open is in October. But we're going to be at a bunch of their events and hosting our own October. That's where I'm getting the 18th. October 18th is our sweatpants and leggings party.
