Who Viewed Me Feature PREVIEW

<p><strong>Update 6.9.16</strong></p>

<p>Dear Members,</p>

<p>We&rsquo;ve been working on an update to address the issue with the profiles being periodically <strong>removed from the Who Viewed Me list</strong>.</p>

<p>The update has been applied and we believe it should resolve this issue for most members.</p>

<p>If you were affected (your Views list was previously automatically reset) and currently have the Who Viewed Me feature enabled, the following should happen:</p>

<p><strong>- Previous views which were removed from your list should be restored (this data is being backed up during the Preview period in case of accidental deletion).</strong></p>

<p><strong>- Views should no longer be automatically reset / removed throughout the day.</strong></p>

<p>Please post here if you continue to experience this or any other issues with the Who Viewed Me feature - CustomerService and TechSupport will not be able to provide assistance during this Preview.</p>

<p>We'd like to thank everyone for your overwhelmingly positive and constructive feedback.</p>

<p>Below are some of the most frequently asked questions along with answers.</p>

<p><strong>--- Support ---</strong></p>

<p><strong>If your <em>Who Viewed Me</em> setting appears to turn off automatically / when you log in</strong>, please let us know which device (phone or computer) as well as which browser and operating system you are using. Also, do you experience the same issue when using a different browser? Please post these and other relevant information here. In order to provide assistance, we need to know the configuration where the issue is being experienced.</p>

<p><strong>IMPORTANT:</strong> If using Internet Explorer, please ensure that the browser is set to load a new copy of each page every time it's visited.</p>

<p>a. In IE, go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Settings Button > Select "Every time I visit the webpage" then click OK. This setting should be enabled before enabling or disabling Views in IE.</p>

<p>b. Microsoft Edge browser should not be used to Enable or Disable Views at this time.</p>

<p><strong>--- FAQ and Answers ---</strong></p>

<p>1. Does the Flyover (hovering over a profile) count as a View?<br />
Answer: No</p>

<p>2. If I Disable Views, will other members still see that I viewed their profiles in the past?<br />
Answer: Yes. Your profile is not deleted from other member's Views list if you disable the Views feature. However, new visits to profiles are not recorded / displayed while the Who Viewed Me feature is disabled.</p>

<p>3. How can I Opt out / Disable Views?<br />
Answer: Views can be Disabled and Re-Enabled by clicking the Settings (Gear) icon at the top right of the Who Viewed Me section.</p>

<p>4. How can I increase my profile Views?<br />
Answer: The <a href="https://www.swinglifestyle.com/forums/Successful_Swinging/Better_Profiles/forumid_1118/viewforum.cfm" target="_blank">Better Profiles forum</a> has a wealth of great ideas from other members on how to improve profiles to make them (and you) more interesting to members. Check it out.</p>

<p>5. If I view a profile 100 times during a 7 day period, how many times will my profile be listed on their Views list?<br />
Answer: 1. Repeated views from the same profile over a 7 day period will show only the original view on the list.</p>

<p>6. What's the default order for profiles listed?<br />
Answer: On the Home and View More pages, profiles are listed in the order (most recent views with profile pics first). The View More page will also include an option to sort / view profiles by the most recent whether or not the profile has a picture as well as by distance when it's completed.</p>

The number in the bottom right is how many pictures they have.....also everyone is getting excited to see who viewed them...if they were interested they would have written you.

May I ask CPL, reply to what? The fact that they viewed your profile? Perhaps by accident, or because you live nearby? Or because you have a nice profile thumbnail?

I definitely don't mean to single you out CPL because the same thing has been expressed in this thread over and over by others but that's actually a "concern" I have about this feature. Concern because I think it's a real possibility that this will inhibit people from actually contacting other people and will make the site basically a voyeur's lounge, like some others. "Concern" in quotes because I have a hard time imagining such people ever being able to take the plunge anyway. I mean, swinging involves eventually taking you clothes off in front of other people. How can you do that if you can't work up the nerve to say, even in an email, "Hello. You seem interesting. Would you like to chat?" If you can't do it in an email, how do you do it in a club or at a party or meet and greet?

I might need some more popcorn for the responses to this one...

New feature keeps being disabled on iPhone.

ROTFLMAO. :) I think now you know why some long time members here are skeptical Tastie.

I notice today that the "New! Who viewed me." sign is gone from my home page. as is the gear button to the right which, as far as I can tell is the only way to get to the on/off switch. I shut mine off which is where I want it. So not a problem. Just seems weird though.

Assuming that this thing works as advertised (the opt out part) I'm ok with it. Based in no small part on the above referenced post I remain skeptical about that.

how often does the Whos Viewed Me refresh ? it seems no one has looked at my profile since early yesterday afternoon I have signed out and in several times and clicked on sort by date and the same profiles are still there first in line ? I'm using firefox as a browser and it usually takes two or more tries to sign on ( an error occurred )

Thank you for the attempt to fix the enable/disable problem. Perhaps that fix works for IE. Any suggestions for those of us on Macs using either Safari or Chrome?

<p>Thank you for the details of your setup.</p>

<p>If you are using IE on your desktop, please try the following.</p>

<p>1. Log out of SLS on all your devices.</p>

<p>2. Ensure that the browser is set to load a fresh copy of the page every time it's visited.</p>

<p>In IE on your desktop, go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Settings Button > Select "Every time I visit the webpage" then click OK.</p>

<p>3. Clear the cache then log back into SLS in that browser.</p>

<p>4. Disable then Enable Who Viewed Me again.</p>

<p>5. While it's Enabled, log out of the site in that browser then back in.</p>

<p>Is the issue still present?</p>

<p>If the browser isn't set to load a fresh copy of each page each time it's loaded, there may be an issue when the Views feature is Enabled or Disabled.</p>

<p>IE does not load a fresh copy of pages by default and forcing it to do so may resolve the issue.</p>

<p>The Edge browser does not load a fresh copy each time a page is loaded either so it should not be used to Enable or Disable Views at this time.</p>

<p>If the info above does not help you resolve the issue, please log out of IE and log in with Firefox or Chrome then Disable and Enable Views.</p>

People should not view it as those that look are intetested.. if interested email..

Seems its just random profiles...

This will be GREAT! Many many times we have tried to meet & greet another couple and nothing has happened. At least we know who is looking at us and a meet and greet is more likely! This would be a great feature. Thank You! R&P

Great idea! Now we can notice people who noticed us noticing them ! One question though, what does the number in the lower right hand corner of the who's viewing us profile mean??

WP 8.1 on IE mobile.
Views randomly drop. When logging in, who viewed enabled but no history kept from last browsing, only most recent. (30 minutes approx) then they disappear. Settings: Mobile webpage version request and data savings off, new pages requested. Please note that there is no mobile version webpage for WP and full page loads each time. Windows 10 PC and tablets do the same things mentioned above.

When we log off and log back on to site our who viewed us list starts over at zero. Yesterday we were maxed out and today we have 1 view. Is this normal?

Who viewed me option keeps switching to disengaged. We have to constantly re-engage.
