Who Viewed Me Feature PREVIEW

<p>Dear Members,</p>

<p>We&rsquo;ve been working on an update to address the issue with the profiles being periodically <strong>removed from the Who Viewed Me list</strong>.</p>

<p>The update has been applied and we believe it should resolve this issue for most members.</p>

<p>If you were affected (your Views list was previously automatically reset) and currently have the Who Viewed Me feature enabled, the following should happen:</p>

<p><strong>- Previous views which were removed from your list should be restored (this data is being backed up during the Preview period in case of accidental deletion).</strong></p>

<p><strong>- Views should no longer be automatically reset / removed throughout the day.</strong></p>

<p>Please post here if you continue to experience this or any other issues with the Who Viewed Me feature - CustomerService and TechSupport will not be able to provide assistance during this Preview.</p>

<p>We'd like to thank everyone for your overwhelmingly positive and constructive feedback.</p>

<p>Below are some of the most frequently asked questions along with answers.</p>

<p><strong>--- Support ---</strong></p>

<p><strong>If your <em>Who Viewed Me</em> setting appears to turn off automatically / when you log in</strong>, please let us know which device (phone or computer) as well as which browser and operating system you are using. Also, do you experience the same issue when using a different browser? Please post these and other relevant information here. In order to provide assistance, we need to know the configuration where the issue is being experienced.</p>

<p><strong>IMPORTANT:</strong> If using Internet Explorer, please ensure that the browser is set to load a new copy of each page every time it's visited.</p>

<p>a. In IE, go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Settings Button > Select "Every time I visit the webpage" then click OK. This setting should be enabled before enabling or disabling Views in IE.</p>

<p>b. Microsoft Edge browser should not be used to Enable or Disable Views at this time.</p>

<p><strong>--- FAQ and Answers ---</strong></p>

<p>1. Does the Flyover (hovering over a profile) count as a View?<br />
Answer: No</p>

<p>2. If I Disable Views, will other members still see that I viewed their profiles in the past?<br />
Answer: Yes. Your profile is not deleted from other member's Views list if you disable the Views feature. However, new visits to profiles are not recorded / displayed while the Who Viewed Me feature is disabled.</p>

<p>3. How can I Opt out / Disable Views?<br />
Answer: Views can be Disabled and Re-Enabled by clicking the Settings (Gear) icon at the top right of the Who Viewed Me section.</p>

<p>4. How can I increase my profile Views?<br />
Answer: The <a href="https://www.swinglifestyle.com/forums/Successful_Swinging/Better_Profiles/forumid_1118/viewforum.cfm" target="_blank">Better Profiles forum</a> has a wealth of great ideas from other members on how to improve profiles to make them (and you) more interesting to members. Check it out.</p>

<p>5. If I view a profile 100 times during a 7 day period, how many times will my profile be listed on their Views list?<br />
Answer: 1. Repeated views from the same profile over a 7 day period will show only the original view on the list.</p>

<p>6. What's the default order for profiles listed?<br />
Answer: On the Home and View More pages, profiles are listed in the order (most recent views with profile pics first). The View More page will also include an option to sort / view profiles by the most recent whether or not the profile has a picture as well as by distance when it's completed.</p>

Love it. Now just improve it. Date / most recent view me.

I LOVE this idea. Its good to see like many other sites who's looking at your profile and who has interested. I can also understand why people don't like this but if you go on other swing site you can see who viewed you as well so I believe its a great addition!

I like it....It would be better with more info when your profile was visited like date seen......Also a flirt or like feature would be a great subtle way to communicate...

We like it and want it around more!

I think it's a long time coming and don't really understand why it wasn't a feature on SLS years ago. I think it will prompt people to write and answer mails which I always found to be lacking on SLS.

Not a big fan but can understand why some folks like it. We would rather see it stay hidden but add an interest or profile like button that lets folks know you like what you see and have some interest. A little less than an email but still lets them know you were there.

Yeah seem to be all over the map on when. Shows a few here and there who have been on in the last day week or month then someone who shows to have not been on in almost a year. The other odd thing is the list sorting. Picture or not do it chronologically, pushing people with a public picture to the top makes no sense on this feature.

For us it's updating every few minutes.

From all over the country. Nobody from the fora, or locally.

If you disable the preview, then re-enable later, you lose all your previous people who viewed you.
The list should be maintained after you re-enable with an option to delete the list if you want.
There may be times when you don't want to be seen, and other times when you do.

How often does the Who Viewed Me feature get updated?

It is nice to see that people to view your pictures review your profile I thought I was the plague or no one you want to look at me I'm glad I can see that people are interested

great way for two shy parties to make a connections, its like making eye contact with someone across the room. Love the feature.

VA, I would imagine many of the folks simply saw your posts here and checked out your profile. I know we have done similar, not necessarily to see if we match up with someone 1000 miles away but more to see more information about them.

We like this new feature. Nice to see who looks at us. We too will look back and see if we are compatible.

What I find weird is that the great majority of people "who viewed me" are nowhere near us. None of the last 9 who viewed us are even in Florida.

Why are people in Illinois, Oklahoma, or Maine seeing our profile at all???

"Who Viewed Me" should be removed until more control and functionality has been incorporated. When the feature is implemented, it should include only views after implementation, not all the views historically before implementation--it's unfair to users to roll out part of a system that affects their privacy without notice and instructions, so that they can fully understand the ramifications before using it (particularly on a site like this, where privacy concerns are significant).

While a "Who Viewed Me" feature can be interesting, the implementation here allows no control or filtering. The best implementation of this feature I've seen on other sites allows you to turn off and on the viewing privacy when you like: turn on viewing privacy to browse aimlessly without leaving traces, turn privacy off selectively when you want to let someone know you looked. Turning off and on your own viewing privacy shouldn't affect the views other give you--those are two separate functions. In addition, you should be able to see what date you were viewed instead of a long list of viewers with no sense of a timeline.

Hoping for a more thoughtful rollout of a feature that could be a lot of fun.

Did SLS disable it for me based on my whining or did it just happen by itself?

It had previously been communicated that SLS had no intention to implement this.

It would have been nice to give people a chance to opt out before it went live.

What is the Who Viewed Me aka Views feature?
The Who Viewed Me feature displays a list of members / profiles who have viewed your profile recently.

How can I use the Who Viewed Me feature?
A new Who Viewed Me section is now available on the home page and displays the most recent profiles (with pictures) which have viewed your profile.

The Settings page allows you to Disable and Enable Views.

***Note - Members who Disable / Opt Out of Views:

1. Will not be displayed on the Who Viewed Me list for profiles they visit.
2. Will not see which profiles have Viewed their profile.
3. Will permanently lose the list of profiles which have visited them.

Subscriptions and Views:

Profiles with Paid and Lifetime Subscriptions are allowed to see up to the last 500 profiles as well as Disable and Enable Views.

Profiles with a Free Subscription are allowed to see the 3 most recent profiles which have viewed their profile but cannot Disable Views.
