Update 6.9.16

Dear Members,

We’ve been working on an update to address the issue with the profiles being periodically removed from the Who Viewed Me list.

The update has been applied and we believe it should resolve this issue for most members.

If you were affected (your Views list was previously automatically reset) and currently have the Who Viewed Me feature enabled, the following should happen:

- Previous views which were removed from your list should be restored (this data is being backed up during the Preview period in case of accidental deletion).

- Views should no longer be automatically reset / removed throughout the day.

Please post here if you continue to experience this or any other issues with the Who Viewed Me feature - CustomerService and TechSupport will not be able to provide assistance during this Preview.

*** Note:

The initial post and the FAQ and Answers post have answers to many of the questions already asked about this feature. Please read them before asking a question which has already being answered.

Thank you,

We'd like to thank everyone for your overwhelmingly positive and constructive feedback.

Below are some of the most frequently asked questions along with answers.

--- Support ---

If your Who Viewed Me setting appears to turn off automatically / when you log in, please let us know which device (phone or computer) as well as which browser and operating system you are using. Also, do you experience the same issue when using a different browser? Please post these and other relevant information here. In order to provide assistance, we need to know the configuration where the issue is being experienced.

IMPORTANT: If using Internet Explorer, please ensure that the browser is set to load a new copy of each page every time it's visited.

a. In IE, go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Settings Button > Select "Every time I visit the webpage" then click OK. This setting should be enabled before enabling or disabling Views in IE.

b. Microsoft Edge browser should not be used to Enable or Disable Views at this time.

--- FAQ and Answers ---

1. Does the Flyover (hovering over a profile) count as a View?
Answer: No

2. If I Disable Views, will other members still see that I viewed their profiles in the past?
Answer: Yes. Your profile is not deleted from other member's Views list if you disable the Views feature. However, new visits to profiles are not recorded / displayed while the Who Viewed Me feature is disabled.

3. How can I Opt out / Disable Views?
Answer: Views can be Disabled and Re-Enabled by clicking the Settings (Gear) icon at the top right of the Who Viewed Me section.

4. How can I increase my profile Views?
Answer: The Better Profiles forum has a wealth of great ideas from other members on how to improve profiles to make them (and you) more interesting to members. Check it out.

5. If I view a profile 100 times during a 7 day period, how many times will my profile be listed on their Views list?
Answer: 1. Repeated views from the same profile over a 7 day period will show only the original view on the list.

6. What's the default order for profiles listed?
Answer: On the Home and View More pages, profiles are listed in the order (most recent views with profile pics first). The View More page will also include an option to sort / view profiles by the most recent whether or not the profile has a picture as well as by distance when it's completed.

Thank you for your continued support.
I really like this feature and it will come in handy when I'm traveling to other locations and can follow-up with couples who have viewed me. Wonderful new addition to SLS. Thanks!

"Can someone please address our concern?"

No, the headers stay and are in closed position when you turn certain areas off. By selecting "on" in the manage homepage area, it is merely telling that section to be expanded upon each webpage request of the home page you make.

Redesigning a webpage to suit your need to save bandwidth is like to fall on deaf ears.

GL to you.

Can someone please address our concern?

We are more concerned that the system doesn't hide or remove the header/references to this feature (or any other) on our main dashboard. We want to have that gone, if we disable the feature, please! (plus any other section that doesn't mean anything to us like the Vegas trips or random matches or newest members)

Please add a sort function by distance, couples and singles.

Hello. You asked for more info from those of us that selected disabled and now everytime they log onto their mobile phone it removes everyone that viewed their profile despite having turned the setting back to enabled.

I am using an iPhone 6. I did not have the same issue on my Mac so far. Just my iPhone 6. Software version 9.3.2. So yes up to date with the latest iPhone software version.

Thanks.

Maybe, who viewed me in the past 7 days rather than from day 1 would be better

You have brought this site up to the competition of other sites with this new feature. We are charter members and we always enjoy meeting people that we are interested in and now I am able to see who maybe interested is us....GREAT FEATURE

What does the number in the lower right corner mean. Is that a count of the number of times it has been viewed by that person? I saw 0 count in some profiles.

Clay, NY, Usa

We would like the ability to change the setting on or off of of if we look at a profile. Sometimes we just look at a profile and see if we like them, now it seems people see we looked at them and always write saying they saw we looked and want to get together

And there's a little icon on the far right top of that same banner that looks like a small gear. Click on that and the pop-up will allow you to enable or disable the feature.

@Lucky: I can't post a visual, but it's a banner type thing about half-way down on your home page. It looks just like the "New Matches" and "Random Matches" banners. Only it will have a Red Tab on the top left corner, and it will say "Who Viewed Me."

OMG NJNY...I thought it was safe now that you turned it off! Let me explain!

I was only looking to get pointers from your profile...not the photo(s). I fell asleep and that's why it appears that I was looking for so long. Honest! ;-)

can someone post a visual of what the views tab, button etc looks like, I cannot see it on our homepage

Really like the add. I agree with some other posters about a "poke/ wink" feature. This way we'll know if anyone is genuinely interested.

Excellent addition to a wonderful site....Thanks SLS

Very nice update thanks SLS IT!

Sounds like a great idea, But I do not see this feature anywhere on the homepage?

Alpharetta, GA, Us

This new feature doesn't add any particular value for us, but it doesn't take any away either. We don't mind if someone sees that we've looked at their profile, it's just up to them to understand that this doesn't mean anything. Either way, as long as it can be enabled or disabled at everyone's pleasure, we don't see why it should be a problem at all.

@woodyacres: never thought of that, but it certainly seems to make sense.

Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan

woodacres... 100% agree..... not sure why this situation exists....

West Chester, PA, Us

+1 on the comment that I disabled once, re-enabled...and now every time I log in it wipes the history of who viewed me. Clearly not working correctly. Had I know this was going to happen, I would have never dialed the first time.

Please correct.
