Agreed, messaging and contacting people on here is now horrible. We hate the cheap IM/messaging interface. Go back to the way it was! This is driving people away from the site and they're going elsewhere for now modern sites!
Wake up admin before it's too late!
I feel like this site is in a death spiral now. Communications have ground to a halt for me. Like another poster said before, as a single male I have to use the written word effectively in order to separate myself from all the rest of the "dudes" on this site. It's simply impossible using a messenger app.
I've found that in the past couple of weeks I'm using this site less and less. I'd have like to have known this change was coming before I forked-over the $150 for a lifetime membership back in December. Can we bring a class-action suit against the owners?
So I must change from metric to imperial every time I log on, really?
Since the website is using the metric system now, can I order a Royale w/cheese?
Apparently not listening to the paying public is what SLS has decided. Paying members will take their business rightlfully elsewhere. This new change has made communication useless.
I'm guessing the powers that be have not taken into consideration that a lot of "lifetime" members actually do refer new people to this site. I now have to wonder how that will effect their bank account when those referrals stop. ~N

The only thing they will listen to is a drop in revenue. If you are not a lifetime member, cancel and tell them why.

Velma, while I respect your patience for the app on a business model level, it’s a poor business model at that; it should have been designed, passed beta and released before dissecting the main site.

Give it a little time. Let them get the app finished. Then make a judgement.
I am appalled by ownership's blatant disregard for the membership and what it wants. The removal of the email system has effectively rendered this web site useless. There are multiple threads asking for it to be returned and I have yet to read a single post where a member has defended the decision the owners made. Not one, and ownership cares so little that they won't even acknowledge our disdain.
What's worse is that Hot Dates are now almost the only way to get someone's attention, and they are overcrowded. My partner placed a hot date for a Tuesday in a suburb of Philly and 56 already existed. On a Tuesday night!
I will ask again -- probably in vain - that ownership LISTEN to its PAYING MEMBERS and reinstate email. I already paid my lifetime dues, so I am here no matter what, but my couples profile goes 3 months at a time. When it expires in a couple weeks, you will not get more money from me. And I am not alone there. I am sure the $149 I already gave you was spent, so what are you trying to prove?
If ownership hold true to form, they will delete this post, just like they delete nearly every other critical item I have ever put up. Selective censorship is one of their many skills. But, the joke is on them, as this site is headed for extinction because of their insane decisions.
Do the right thing. Swallow you pride and suck it up. Restore the email.
