Wayne - I have seen similiar issues in the past and an easy way to remove the need to update all the pages etc that use the date field is to keep that field as a source. Add an update process to that field from your new profile dating record. I've seen an update program that runs daily, weekly and even monthly to synchronize the old field to the new. In many cases, it is the easier approach
I’m one of those people that will forget to update my age. But honestly in this day of age and assuming that most of us are here with good intentions, the fact that it doesn’t just seems silly? Odd by its absence.
If it was site resources were such a precious commodity that such niceties weren’t practical then yes, I could see the argument against it. As that’s not the case I don’t see why it hasn’t been implemented already.
Unless we have to PROVE AGES, you start with a date given by the person. Unless proof of age is required, any birth date can be given. So this helps where people honestly forget to update and their stated birth date is accurate. That is the only scenario.
I’ll throw our hat into this ring-would love to see this updated.
Sometimes I will use the “Note” application on someone’s profile and write their stated age and the current date. Get so many who write to us 2-3 years later (just had one that was 10 years) and have never upgraded their profile age.
This topic alone has aged 20 years. Lol
It won't change the fact that the pics are also 10 years old. Can't stop the fakes from playing games.

People lie about their ages on here anyway...an automatic adder for every year would really not do anything constructive. Just my two cents.

<p>I agree and I think most of the staff agree. It is on our list of updates to make. But it is not as simple as adding a new birthday field. Every page that displays an age would need to be updated. We have to decide how we handle all the existing profiles that don't have a birthday on file.</p>
The purpose is clear....to keep up with the site "theme". Outdated and frozen in time! But it feels good to be young forever! :)
yup... there are profiles that show joined date of like 15 years ago still showing they are 30 years old..... huh?

Don't know why it doesn't, but this request has been mentioned in numerous times over the past 20 years.
On the homepage I see a profile under Random Matches. I click on their profile. His age is listed as 36, her age is listed as 34.
Problem is....their REAL ages are 52 and 50. How do we know this? Because we know them from another website where their Ages are automatically updated each year.
So yes, we'll tell them to update their profile here but for those other profiles that may be interested in them, they'll think the people are in their mid-30's versus being in their early 50's - a HUGE difference!
Why can't (or doesn't) SLS do SOMETHING about improving this functionality?
