More blocking options

We find that people who we have never met or talked to, have blocked us. What rationale is that?

In our case on "My Wall" that is the only way to remove Profiles that we are not interested in as "Hide" has never worked. Some we can't block as altho the profile icon is visible the Profile itself is "Not visible to couples" so we report these, everyday until they are gone.

A lot of folks will block profiles they aren't interested in, as a list management thing, and to avoid any unpleasantness if they have to say "no thanks".

It's not personal, it's just business.... so to speak.

Wayne's answer to: "Why doesn't SLS send their mass notices by messenger?"

"Those mass notifications are in another format. They were not exactly the same as private messages. They are just using that old mail system as the transport system and have not been converted over."

So Wayne, is this the reason also why bulk mailings within a group aren't seen on the phone app? Had a few folks who didn't see an invite, and have only been using the phone app.

It's almost like a group invite isn't effective right now, and I have to use SLS and FB, to make sure our potential guests see an invite.

Is there a fix in the works? Thanks

@PoconoPlayers: If you block a profile the basic public pic & info is still visible to you on Hot Dates or sign up list for events. If you click on it you'd be unable to view the profile. At least that's the way it used to work.

Why do people that block you still able to visit your profile but you are unable to block them?

Wayne, I do see your point. I would caution though that being around for twenty years is only an indicator of fulfilling nrrd historically. Most of that time was under the old system(s).

Past performance is only indicative of future success if meeting those needs continues.

Changing things up to satisfy a younger demographic could be a useful strategy, or not.

SLS served the LS community in a successful way. It filled its niche well. The changes I see alienate some of us and from what I can see are placing SLS in a format crowded with "Social" wannabees. Everyone of them wants to be the next BIG success. Most of them will fail miserably.

You are correct.

That is a lesson that SLS is in the process of learning.
It is such a shame.

This is what happens when you let your nephew design the site. I’ve said it before, MySpace was better than this. This is as bad and ancient as WebTv and GeoCities.

CORRECTION:

If that were true, mail would be restored because the messenger is universally hated.

Even SLS management seems to hate it.

Why doesn't SLS send their mass notices by messenger?

This website has always ome across as "barebones" with minimal productive changes.

*multiple high-level coders in the past have offered to improve the everything of this website with continued refusal of -free- help that would otherwise cost tens of thousands of dollars.

I think (I could be wrong) what is happening is improvements are being made based on the capabilities of hired IT people. I don't think (i could be wrong) they're swingers so seeing the value and validity is hard for them. It's not that making this feature os hard (super easy!) The people running the show don't see the value of working on it. They could cut down on their man hours by the thousands by using specific developed programs but it doesn't seem that they see the value in it (or don't know how to make it work? ) End game, it's a website built with an agenda that isn't popular among the outspoken and don't expect it to change. Lower tour standards. It's sad. I see a lot less forum activity than just a year ago. I see competition rising and becoming more popular. Some of us are here for the popcorn and get our discount at the club by signing up for events through here, haha!

I appreciate your reply but as with any business. making the customers happy and returning is what keeps said business going and profitable. All that is needed is for a large enough group of people that agree to the change and it would happen. Make your voices heard and watch. ??

I believe we should be able to more control over who views our profile. We should be able to block others based on age , as well as bi . I asked about this and was told a flat no. It is my profile why can I not control who sees it or not. It is not a complicated function.
