Messaging not working

Fresno, CA, Us

Now, now, folks. Any minute now, Wayne will chime in to tell us that the physical architecture is state-of-the-art, rivaling the gear that NSA uses.

Either that, or the post will disappear like someone sat on Ren Hoek's History Eraser Button.

If I got that last post correctly, the thought is that SLS has nothing as current as a load balancer fronting a pool of servers?

@ Mayhem, I honestly don't think it's the load balancer or the pool of servers since "It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads. And I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of antifreeze, preferably Prestone." ~M

I have found that if I click on someone to message multiple times, I can eventually get one to go through. Makes me wonder if these requests are being handled through a load balancer to a pool of servers and some of the servers in that pool aren't really working. Would explain why it works sometimes and not others.

Not only is mesaage not working but I can't even vrrate a support ticket. Even before messages went down I was having issues where the message I typed disappeared. Having dpoblems even signing in.

Same here..I cant message anyone! whats the point of having a lifetime membership if I cant connect with females and couples?

Try refreshing and it should work, but you may need to refresh several times.

Same, we are trying to make contacts with people for a party this weekend and can't because when we try to message it just brings up the history of IM's instead of a new message to the profile we are trying to write....

As noted below, the refresh option is not working. And yes, this is different than the standard "recipient name" refresh trick that usually works.

Also, when I click the "Chat" option on the left, it takes me to a login home page where it asks for my login/password again. When I enter it, it just takes me back to the SLS member homepage

We have told the developer about these issues happening right now. For now, click on "Messages" and if the message list loads instead of the message entery box, select the refresh/reload icon on your browser to refresh the page. You may have to do that a couple of times, but it should eventually load the message box.

This happens when a server is lagging. It will either load the message list or say, "Recipient name" instead of the profile name. Try waiting a few seconds and then try again.
