@mayhem8 Yup. The changes that have been made over the past few months require more computing resources. The site reliability was iffy back before they nuked email. I wrote a forum post back then in which I predicted that reliability would get worse because of the increased complexity. That post was deleted and I've unfortunately been proven correct.
Shame. I am intimately familiar with the business of Internet communities. I have a pretty good idea of what's going on behind scenes and why the site owner is making the decisions that he is. But I'm also seeing a lot of missteps that I feel is going to doom this place. ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, Friendster, and MySpace all also thought that their large userbase made their market dominance unassailable. The network effect of online social communities is often greatly overestimated.
