General site reliability

@mayhem8 Yup. The changes that have been made over the past few months require more computing resources. The site reliability was iffy back before they nuked email. I wrote a forum post back then in which I predicted that reliability would get worse because of the increased complexity. That post was deleted and I've unfortunately been proven correct.

Shame. I am intimately familiar with the business of Internet communities. I have a pretty good idea of what's going on behind scenes and why the site owner is making the decisions that he is. But I'm also seeing a lot of missteps that I feel is going to doom this place. ICQ, AOL Instant Messenger, Friendster, and MySpace all also thought that their large userbase made their market dominance unassailable. The network effect of online social communities is often greatly overestimated.

Site reliability is equivalent to Wet toilet paper. Very Shitty.

Again, another Fri afternoon of session related issues. Seems the reliability get's dicey when they have more than 10K people on at once.

Not to mention the snide implications that we must be stupid if we can't get the site to work correctly...

Wish I had a couple dollars every time he posted that to a response. Along with, "what browser are you using?" unreal...

A change log would definitely be a good idea.

I've said this before, but it bears repeating: SLS's site has had so many issues for so long that the preview icon on my Chrome home page is now called “An Error Has Occurred...”

Ironic that the ads for the (in our opinion) hideous SLS jewelry say "Discreetly meet new people.....get laid" when this web site was supposed to be about exactly that, and the changes to the web site have made doing that more difficult.

Its just great to belong to a swingers web site that doesn't work and is inaccessible on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I couldn't access the site all day yesterday and it seems as though it wasn't just me. The hits just keep rolling, way to go SLS !!

After getting forcibly bounced off SLS 2 or 3 times, We just go to other Lifestyle/Swing web sites to search & interact.

Given the choice between spending my time re-entering log in details just to get error messages, or interacting with actual people, we choose the latter.

This error has existed for quite some time, and not been fixed. There has been zero visible effort to address it.

Saturday after Thanksgiving is traditionally a pretty active night for us Lifestylers. Not a good evening for the Hot Date page to be acting up! The calendar actually loading has been 50/50, and when it does, the dates themselves will not display below it. Using Chrome

unfortunately, it happens so often on this train wreck of a platform that it doesn’t even register annoyance anymore. more ‘expected’ than anything.

Getting this a lot... 6pm Friday Night... also forum were down for a while and hot dates were not showing up... (both work now)

but its a Friday night on a holiday weekend... ain't no one using the site to try and meet people anyway.. right?????

More issues getting kicked out and trying to get back in in again today. I did notice on the home page before you log in it says how many are logged in, and it was 10,325. Will have to make note of that when the trouble occurs next time. Can't do anything about it but curious if it's a capacity related issue.

Make that x2 FWIW. Got booted again and tried multiple times to get in without success. If we were looking to play, the site would have been unavailable for a prime time that we would have been looking. Speculating that's why we got booted, because many others were probably trying to do just that.

Being that this is essentially 5 pm on a virtual Friday due to the holiday and yet again I got booted out and it took multiple times to get back on. Not sure if this is a capacity issue or what, but it's gotten to be a (very noticeable) trend.

Management is fucking the golden goose. Focus on what made the site popular, not on your whims!!

About 2/3 days ago the long load times started. Now since they "completed" the upgrade it seems like it keeps booting me out, the load times have gotten longer, and pictures have begun to corrupt. Remember this is what we all pay for...

This new update has alot to be desired. Bring back the old and just leave it be.

Can you please define Upgrade.
We feel like this recent change is a step Backwards. Horrible change.
