Wow!
Suspend all communications between members and extend the paid memberships by the equal time that communication is suspended...just like health clubs are no billing us during this Pandemic. Do the right thing, even there will be those that it's not popular with.
@nnvacouple
I agree with you especially on being adults and making our own choices.
I can understand suspending posts regarding large gatherings, especially in public spaces. However, it would seem to us that limiting the ability to post a hot date between individuals or couples might be a bit much. This is a site for adults who can make adult decisions. I will grant SLS some leeway as they could run into some legal liability which scrubbing the hot dates capability might abate.
Why is the “No Hot Date” warning posted on this weekend’s SLS Virtual Hangout details page?
whats the over/under on the number of months it will take SLS to get hot dates functioning properly once the travel and gathering restrictions are lifted... im going with 3 months...
‘we’? didn’t know I was supposed to be worried. because I’m not. speak for yourself.
@hotluvrs
It's not complaints they are observations. According to what you are classifying as trifling we could consider anything as such especially logging on to swinger sites.
Besides what are we to do with all this extra time?
But..........
But...........
But..........
I'm essential, my governor says so.............

We have a whole lot of things to worry about at this time. Complaining because we are not getting full value from our swinger site seems somewhat trifling.
ICME, It’s not an automatic thing. But they’ve been known to do that if you use it as your tagline or indicated in your profile that you’re taking a break. Just another method for them to control
"We will continue to closely monitor the daily guidelines and operations will return to normal when restrictions have been lifted."
How is that going to work? SLS is nationwide. The president is talking about getting back to normal in 2 weeks. Is that the standard? What if some states don't go along with that and keep restrictions in place? Does SLS go back to normal when say half of states do, or only when all states lift restrictions? Or are you actually going to go state by state when someone posts an event and look up what the status of that state is before you approve it? I'm dubious of that?
@ckmate2020
Thanks and I didn't know they suspend your account if you say you're taking a break. I've usually just didn't login when I took breaks.
A civilized response, if not a little overdue
ICME, correct observation.
They'll continue to take monthly, quarterly subscription payments but will step up "to do the right thing" by preventing us, AS ADULTS, to make the decision whether we wish to meet or not.

I wonder if people are being warn of this before they pay for their membership. Also for the people that are paid member are their memberships being extended. I know this is no help for LT members. Some people pay when they're ready to play so they are paid members off and on. They know the site and usually meet people at the clubs and hotel/house parties. Now that they can't go out maybe they might be looking for smaller number events or something more intimate.
I say this because I see a lot more people online in my area. So people are doing other things now. I thought I was being safe because I only go from my house to my deserted running trail do my run and get back in my car. Yesterday was warm and the trail had lots of people on it. way more than I would see on a Saturday or Sunday. I guess I'll be praying for rain even the cyclist don't come out when its raining.
Really, what’s the point in shutting down hot dates if you’re gonna leave messaging open because anyone can still message people to set up a date, it’s no different other than hot dates allow others to find who is willing to meet.
:eye roll:

As of 3/25/2020 they are still showing a hot date for a single male in the Portland Oregon area. And at the bottom of the page it is showing 3335 active hot dates site wide. It also showed one event for 4 different days this week, but if you clicked on them, they showed that they were cancelled. But it is the kind of poor website handling that members have unfortunately come to expect from SLS.
As of today, there are still hot dates posted in New Orleans and our local club has events posted for tonight, tomorrow and Friday.
~Scamp
Why stop there? Why not suspend the entire website? We would clearly have no other way of getting together if not for the hot date section of this website. Some are going to risk their health with or w/o SLS, they are on the beach in droves, is that hot dates?
long overdue reaction after being called out by a subscriber and getting a lame answer from the “SLS default spokesperson”
(that thread was quickly removed).
COVID-19 UPDATE from SLS
This has been an unprecedented time in history. We know that the last few weeks have been hard on everyone as we have all been adjusting and readjusting to the daily updates and efforts to curb the spread of Covid-19.
In an effort to emphasize the importance of health, safety, and compliance with CDC guidelines, SLS has made the decision to remove all EVENTS and HOT DATES from our site through April.
We will continue to closely monitor the daily guidelines and operations will return to normal when restrictions have been lifted.
Thank you for your understanding and please know that SLS is committed to our community and the recovery of our nation.
