<p>We listen to you. That does not mean that we are going to give you everything you ask for. For every member that wants something done, "Way A", there is someone else that wants it done, "Way B". All the people posting in these forums don't even make up 1% of our member base, so don't make the mistake of thinking what is posted in these forums represents the majority. </p>

<p>You are not taking a break if you are logging in and posting in the forums or talking to friends, so there would be no reason for you to put "Taking a break" in your profile. That would be an incorrect statment. It sounds like you may not be meeting new people, so you can put, "Not meeting new people" or "Not playing right now" in your profile. </p>

"Then why not give us an option to hide our profile for a pre-determined period of time? "

This is needed to avoid getting messages from people you have blocked.

Maybe only allow former FRIENDS now called FAVORITES to see profile.

Unfortunately that wont work with MY WALL as even people who don't want to interact with couples will appear on MY WALL of a couple. We have so many unwanted people on MY WALL that we can't see the ones we want. We are in NYC and have people on MY WALL from thirty eight miles away. Metro NYC I think has ten per cent of all USA population, so getting people's messages on MY WALL from 38 miles away who don't want to meet couples is annoying. SLS described MY WALL as a method to get info from FRIENDS!

Then why not give us an option to hide our profile for a pre-determined period of time? That way people can choose for themselves whether they want to be visible and receive messages, or don’t want to be bothered.

If we were taking a break, I’d want to still receive messages for possible meetings in the future.

I’ve never clicked a profile of someone that said they were on a break and felt like I wasted time. More often than not, I find myself hoping that they are OK and work out whatever issues that caused them to step away.

SLS’s mentality is that “we know what you want more than you know what you want”. This attitude has been a major complaint for years.

Highlighting a thumbnail reveals the tag line that indicates if someone is taking a break or not, then it is up to the user whether or not to waste their time clicking on the profile to further peruse it.

“ Other members do not want to take the time to do searches and view profiles just to find out that they are taking a break and not interested in meeting anyone.”

Is this an assumption or was there a poll taken? Did they take the poll via email that none of the members want also?

One thing we learned a long time ago is to expect anything but “customer service” from SLS.

The excuse that other customers don’t want to take their time to do a search just to find a profile is “on a break” is negated by the fact that you won’t let us put “On a break” as a tag line.

Face it, no one here cares what we the paying customers want, they do what they think we want, even when told they are completely off base.

Well SLS is cleaning house I HAD 83 unopened messages I saved and when I signed on today SLS trimmed it down to 65, they are MY messages and I want them back regardless if I open them now or a yr from now!

It is fixed now Wayne (thanks), but Max is pretty spot on. I would assume the admins have a dashboard of sorts and can see a users activity. I have made a few forum posts over the past month, we received and gave a new cert in the last couple of weeks, and have sent and received messages just in the last couple of days. It should be obvious to admin we are not "inactive" whether we are mostly taking a break or not.

I do not consider locking our profile due to "violating terms of service" to fall into the category of a "courtesy", or understand why a paid life-time member taking a break would be a violation anyway.

<p>No, that does not make any sense and your statement has nothing to do with what happened. They stated they were on hiatus and SLS saw it and as a courtesy, we marked their profile as inactive so they would not show up in searches and potentially be flooded with messages while they were away. Their profile was not in any danger of being deleted.</p>

I changed it Wayne. Hopefully that will fix it. Thanks!

<p>You need to update your Tagline. It currently reads, "<span style="color:rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family:open sans,sans-serif; font-size:14px">February 2020 - On hiatus due to real life demands for the indefinite future". It looks outdated and also the wording indicates that you are not logging in and using the site, and since you are hear posting in the forums, that is obviously not accurate. Once you update it, the profile should be re-aproved.</span></p>

I see that a click on your profile name results in
"This profile page is currently unavailable. If you are the owner of this profile, please check your mail for further details.

Thank you. "

If we get one more unwanted contact from someone we have blocked we will request that our profile page become unavailable.

We received a note saying our profile has been placed offline due to inactivity. How do I contact customer service to rectify this?
