I don't understand how supposed software developers don't know how to code to pull data from a database and act upon that data.
Any field in a database can be acted upon.

good to know your standard is to be just like everyone else...why be better than other sites...
and yes other sites offer filtering for premium members that they don't offer to base level members...
But that's just it, many people want it. If it's not here, they just go to other sites that do have it and don't stay here.
Yes, it’s possible to write code which allows us to block based on age.
No, the other two sites we use a lot do not have that option.
While it may be a desirable feature, do we really want the developers spending what is clearly a very limited amount of available time on something that doesn’t make much a difference for the majority of users?
I just saw this thread. If I can offer a few comments/suggestions. Actually, yes, you can make changes to allow/deny certain age groups from either seeing your profile or sending you email. It's just a matter of who the developer is and what their coding experience is. I am working with developers now updating software that my company has. We tell them what we want and need and they make it happen. You just need to sit down and discuss this with whomever you have as a developer and start to create a plan to make it happen.
I would even like to be able to search for people based on body type, hair color, etc.. And yes, I have seen it on other sites, so things like this are definitely doable.

<p>Yes, of course it could be done. Right now, it is not a feature that SLS has. This company can do most anything that the owner or other "powers that be" want done. If they don't want it done, it won't get done.</p>
<p>Do any other sites have this feature?</p>
If I can't see a hot date because our profile doesn't match their parameters, then YES, you absolutely could give people the ability to block in other places too.
I repeat - if it's a field in a database, it can be acted upon.
Wayne, anything that is a field in a database can be acted upon. Come on now.
Wayne, is there a way to add that as an update for the site. I can see where that would be a desirable function for many.
<p>I'm sorry, there is no way to block based on age.</p>
As a single woman I get too many young men is there any way I couldn't block certain ages
