Filtering weight
Hate BMI throws all out the door on heavy weight lifters and free weights. even our Dr agrees. so sorry we can easily tell by recent clear photos what ones look like!
We are making swinging way too difficult to find people.. nice written profile, clear recent photos, and meet its that easy folks!
A search for height would be what we would use more than weight or BMI. The wife likes them on the taller side. In our searches we always start with location, then age. Those are the basics. What should be (and will be from our understanding) improved on here with search are play interests, certification or not, height/weight, etc. like some competitor sites already offer.

Could this new platform have filters for weights of individuals similar to ages when searching?
We actually tried this about 10 years ago using the BMI index. It is difficult to use weights because they are largely dependent on height. We will discuss something more along the lines of allowing members to indicate then fit average more to love etc.
BMI would be a fantastic search feature!! Plus 2 on this feature!!
BMI would work but how many people know what their BMI is? I know mine because I have both Withings & Tanita body scan monitors in my house that I use daily but I doubt many people have one. My BMI averages 24.2 but varies +/- several points daily and by machine
A person can easily calculate their BMI but how many people are going to do that? What's to keep a person from saying their BMI is one thing when in actuality it's higher.....posting BMI relies on honesty which is in short demand on the internet

I tried asking people to video chat many times. Impossible, nobody I've ever asked agreed to it. People always have excuses why they cant do video, some get mad when I ask and block me....I think they think I want to do video sex although I clearly state it's only to verify their authenticity. Stopped asking
I always ask to have a phone conversation with both the male and female to eliminate guys posing as female (which happens all the time), lots of people don't even want to do this. I get all kinds of excuses, main one being they don't give out their number. To make giving out my number safer I pay a small monthly fee for an app that provides me with 7 disposable phone numbers per month, works great, works with voice & video, desktop or cell phone

Problem with people showing real up-to-date pictures is you have to rely on the couple/person being honest when they say the pics are recent (and we all know everyone on the internet is honest). Over the years I've met many people from internet sites, the majority didn't look much like the pics on their profile. I've had profiles as a single guy and also as a couple when I have a partner
I've been on SLS a long time, probably over 15+ years with various profiles. I still see active profiles with the same pics I saw 15 years ago and the profile says their pics are recent
The old image concern is being addressed. We have always had a policy of not deleting anything, forums go back years, but as our image servers because too vast we've decided it's time to remove old images. That is a work in progress.
Not to belabour the topic but, I doubt there is anything that any web admin can do to prevent people from posting old pictures and inaccurate profile stats. It's buyer beware. People that visit these sites should accept the fact that most profile info is inaccurate and made to make the profile look more appealing that it most likely is. Nothing a webmaster can do about this. It's up to the people involved to do their due diligence and vet each other, not rely on the website to do the vetting for them, at least not if they expect positive results. The website is an initial meeting point, nothing more, nothing less
Case in point: Over the recent holidays I met a couple online, we shared conversation and what I hoped were recent pictures, my pics that I sent them were days old not months or years old. The couple swore that their pics were recently taken and their stats were accurate. At one point I asked them to send me a picture of both of them with either my name on a piece of paper or something with a date on it, they kept dodging that request which should have risen a red flag but for some reason I messed up and didn't push the request. After several days of chatting we set-up a meeting in a restaurant. I arrived about 15 minutes early and got a table. After sitting there and scanning the restaurant I couldn't locate the couple, that was with looking at their pics on my phone. After a while a couple approached and said we were supposed to meet. I was looking at their pics and looking at them, pretty much nothing at all like their pictures. They saw me looking at their pics, laughed and made a comment that those pictures were a couple months old. There was no way that 2 people gain 40lbs, look 20 years older, hair totally change color and length in a couple months. I was pretty mad to say the least and told them that. After several minutes I excused myself, I was blunt and told them that they lied to me and was no longer interested in them. I left and accept that this is the way things usually go with internet meetings
A video chat option would certainly solve that issue. If they have endless excuses as to why they can’t video cha, it would end the conversation for us.
When we meet a couple we go with the intention of meeting two people.
They may or may not be physically our types.
They may or may not be intellectually compelling or even interesting.
That is why we meet the people. Most people are pleasant enough for an evenings conversation. We may find an interest in playing , mutually.
There have been plenty of times when our brains meshed , but our bodies were a no go.
Some of those still ended up as friends.
Our ideas of basing "success" on a totally sexual level pretty much left both of us 40 years ago, perhaps even earlier.
We've always enjoyed vigorous sex. extending that beyond us was a lark after we became empty nesters.
Before that we enjoyed the benefits of being partnered with someone whose needs ran parallel.
Right now,if things click in that direction, it is good.
We both prefer that the possibility of "whatever"is always there.
In my ideal world, a cabin, 3-4 days, with a couple, without any rules.
Thank you everybody for the feedback on the topic.

META ....like make believe world many believe we are in!
Some think they are a cat, dog, and some think they are skinny vs overweight.
If we had to explain it you missed the point.
For "us" real up to date photos clearly show what people fall into.
Nope dont like that one.. we live way too much in the now META world.
You got me, I'm stumped, maybe I'm showing my age....can you explain what that means and how it applies here? I looked up "now META world" and it has several meanings
Nope dont like that one.. we live way too much in the now META world.
I've seen profiles on other sites that ask the person to select their body type. There's usually a selection like, slim, average, athletic, overweight ect... From reading how most people describe their body type, then looking at their pic, then sometimes meeting, how a person describes their body type to what they are in reality are usually worlds apart. Most people look in the mirror and see what they want to see, not how other people see them.
Here’s a thought: why not try implementing a body “type” descriptor in your profile instead of using weight? Something like curvy, BBW, slim, average, muscular, etc.
We have this on our list as a discussion point.

What I do when a couple or single expresses interest is to ask for a full body picture, clothed is okay, of them holding a piece of paper with my name on it or something that shows the current date. I send them the same. Seems to be the most reliable way so far for me to see the real person/couple. I know it's a little work but seems better than than meeting someone and they look nothing at all like their pictures. Usually when I ask for this 90% of the people never reply back.....geeze I wonder why
Wouldn't something like this be dependant on the person/couple being honest? Everybody sees themself differently. Heck, it's hard enough getting honestly recent pictures
