Why not allow users to be able to place a comment/description on their own photos?
Then the user could say something like, "Naughty N'awlins 2015" on a favourite photo they wish to keep. They can also date others as the current year, illustrating any differences. (This could still be in conjunction with the removal of photos uploaded a long time back, but perhaps limit it to older photos WITHOUT comments/descriptions.)
Just because a photo is older, doesn't necessarily mean that it isn't an accurate depiction of current. Our shapes haven't significantly changed in the past 10+ years, so an older picture without the face is still pretty accurate. But I would rather be upfront about the older ones with a comment on each.
Another enhancement could be to have a required field, asking the year the photo was taken, when it is uploaded. (Obviously this would rely on User honesty, but most people are more honest when asked directly.)
Also on the topic of photos, I would like to see the ability to comment/like photos in other user's albums. The comments should require acceptance by the User before it shows on their profile, after receiving a notification of a new comment. It would also be nice if each user had the ability to turn on/off photo comments.
